Do you think it's worth it to purchase an xbox series s for this?
My computerd doesn't run diablo 4 very well, was thinking about updating it, but just realized for my work/gaming needs it would literally be cheaper for me to buy a Mac and an xbox instead of a new PC with the ridiculous prices.
Does the series S work well for this? or would I need a series X

Does the series S work well for this? or would I need a series X What are your needs? Genuinely curious how including a Mac, never mind a Mac + console is the cheaper option. And I’m a big mac fan!
I can only say the Series X does kick ass in general and my brother ran D4 great on it, comparably if not better than my gruntier PC did, although can’t speak to the S.
In a more general sense, getting older and not having quite the time, having a console that ‘just works’ and Game Pass is increasingly valuable to me. Games mostly just run fine out the box, and there’s plenty of classic titles I can get through.
Whereas if I’d been gaming pretty relentlessly I’d have played a lot of those games already, and have further upgraded things like storage on my PC so juggling was less of an issue.
A rather long-winded way of saying it’s really your habits. If you still game a lot and want to stay on the cutting edge, that bit of extra money might be the way to go. If you’re like me and don’t game enough or care about playing in 4K 120 FPS or whatever and want something that just sits there and can still play modern games, I’d definitely consider the Xbox option, especially as Game Pass kicks arse

Runs well on PS5 fwiw. Just hit 26 on my arc lash sorc in about a day’s worth of casually playing while mouse wiggling for work

I had the license error problem for about an hour into launch last night. I eventually got through though and everything has been smooth since.

Did you get through by just trying again and again? Or did they have to fix something on their end? I'm curious what happened. I saw a comment that said FF14 on the PS got laggy when D4's early access started. Doesn't help that SF6 was released hours later.

Are you buying a really underpowered Mac that can't run games at all? I'm wondering why it would be cheaper than a PC. My PC is 5 years old (was around $2000 when I bought it) and still has no problems running games. I'm going around 7 years between upgrades now, which is equivalent to a console cycle.

Basically it's like a leasing program. You pay 70%of the price over 36 months. And then at month 37 you pay 30%, or you can return the Mac and not ahve to pay that 30%.
So even though the mac would technically be like 20% in total more expensive for similar/slightly worse specs, and not being able to play, in a 3 year expense breakdown it is cheaper. I ran numbers and 70%of the mac over 36 months is a total of Y, which is like 15-20% cheaper than a PC I would have to buy now, in full, in 1 payment (or 3 payments at most). vs paying that in 3 years. And hopefully in 3 years I'm doing better and can just get a new computer. But I guess that's an if.
So that's why I was considering the mac. Although I undertsnad it's kind of a leasing, so may be best to just bit the bullet and get something that can last me 6-7 years now instead of 3.

Watching some streamers, and the PoE team only gained 15 levels (49-64) in the last 30 hours. At this rate it'll take 1 week from launch to get to lvl 100.

Finished Acts 1 and 2, working on 3 and am level 41 after about 15 hours played. Enjoying the pacing so far

Worked for me after just trying over and over again. Definitely seemed to be an issue with PSN’s license verification process

Welp.... I am currently stuck in the Crimson Spoil dungeon as I can't attack or use any skills basic or other lol had to TP out via the world map and waiting.

Just a heads up that Act IV has more parts than War and Peace.

First server snag I've seen so far... queue times now being about an hour and some in-game issues. Hopefully things will be fixed ASAP.
Edit: Only had to wait 10 minutes, despite it saying queue time was ~57 minutes. Cool

That's a departure from D2 and D3 where Act 4 is the shortest. How many acts total?

Without spoilers, can someone who completed the campaign rate the story 1-10?

>Played druid until level 28, was honestly having one of the worst experiences in an ARPG I've ever had with Pulverize werebear build. (Starved for class resource, low damage, shit mobility, very anti-melee boss design and some event design) >Decided to try Sorcerer. Surely, can't be as bad as druid, can it? Ended Act 1 on level 35, Ended Act 2 on level 47 (Act boss was level 41 LOL, I dunno if he scales to you as a player or not)
The class resource starvation is unreal. I thought it was just druid/barb at first but nope, sorcerer and rogue are also extremely starved. Dunno about necro. Generator skills don't do SHIT. They don't do damage, they don't generate enough resources.
My current experience in fights goes like this: pop ice nova, ice armor BIG DICK DAMAGE for about 6 seconds. Kite kite kite until both cooldowns are back up. Rinse & repeat. My level 50 sorceress has 103 mana at level 50... that's JUST 3 more than she had at level 1. If it wasn't for the fact I sometimes get refuded a little bit of mana when hitting vulnerable enemies (Ice Nova), I wouldn't be able to DPS even for 6 seconds straight with Ice Shards. It's better/safer for me to wait for my mana to regenerate naturally from 0 to 103 during a fight than it is for me to be using any of the 1st tier skills (firebolt, icebolt, spark, arc lash) because they don't do jack shit. Not damage-wise, not resource-generation-wise. Might as well unbind left click at this point or set it to move/interact only.
This gameplay reminds me of pushing D3 Greater Rifts on my Thorns Crusader build with Elemental Band. You wait for your timing (the elemental band ring to cycle to the earth element) and then you lay into the boss as hard as you can, before you wait some more until the Earth cycle on the elemental band comes again. Here I am waiting for Ice nova (vulnerability proc) and Ice Armor (25% more damage under a barrier). Otherwise, I don't deal any sort of meaningful damage.
I don't even use any ultimate on my Sorc. No place to put it. The Defensive Tree (Ice Nova, Ice Armor, Flame Shield, Teleport) are all way too good to pass up. Yes, even Flame Shield on an Ice Sorc build.
I no longer look for damage upgrades. All my time is spent looking for items that will upgrade my Mana Cost Reduction (Focus & Necklace) and Cooldown Reduction.
I've watched YT videos and see people saying they've finished the campaign part of the game by around level 38... dang lol. That's not my playstyle. I explore all the zones, find all the altars of lilith, do as much as I can on my 1st playthrough. I wonder what level will I be when I finish the campaign? 60? 70?
All this on World Tier 1 (Adventurer difficulty)

I found the nature/elemental skills (especially lightining/storm over earth) for Druid to be wayyy better than werewolf/werebear, with literally no resource/spirit issues whatsoever. This is my build so far, and I'm loving it: Storm Strike (Fierce) for melee + Earth Spike (Wild) for ranged -> Lightning Storm (Raging) -> Blood Howl (Innate) + Debilitating Roar (Innate) -> Wolves (Ferocious) + Nature’s Reach -> Hurricane (Natural) + EE (and other 4) -> Cataclysm + Defiance (and other 3) -> Perfect Storm (can only use one key passive skill from the end of skill tree). I'm level 41 so far, as a reference.

7/10 actually for me. I found the story engaging while usually not very much interested in story. The biggest flaw is probably pacing. It feels like an anime. When its actually story and progressing it in a meaningduk way, its very fun (for me).
Otherwise it feels like Anime fillers
