It works when the game is designed for it, I know Diablo 1 has no HC but for me now it's a major feature that i enjoy about diablo games or should i say ARPG. Hardcore Mode didn't exist in Diablo I, but its existence can be traced back to the game. David Brevik originally wanted to make what would become Hardcore Mode the default state of the game, but was overruled.[1] https://diablo.fandom.com/wiki/HardcoreOn August 07 2022 18:21 Big-t wrote: Hardcore and online are things that don't go together very well. One lag and your character is dead and it is not even your fault. One of the reasons d2 has a healthy single player community. On August 07 2022 18:54 Simberto wrote: Path of Exile also has a hardcore community. Managing lag and lag risks becomes part of the game afaik. It happens, probably always will but even with it yeah you can manage it and it works, theres always a lot of players playing HC only and online. I think with a few extra steps there could be mitigation of lag risks server side as well. Don't want to let players abuse pulling cable too much but you can still manage the time to kill vs the delay of vulnerability as you disconnect for example. If you can't heal too fast and getting away isn't easy you don't have to die super fast to risk dieing etc. Obviously if the server itself disconnects, roll back but that should be obvious lul (didn't roll back last time on D2R^^).

Knowing the current Blizzard you can probably pay real money to revive your hardcore chars for 10 bucks a pop or something...

My statements have nothing to do with each other. They confirmed D4 will have a shop for microtransactions. The screenshot shows 12 max character slots. There is literally no reason to limit the characters slots at that low of a number in this day and age if they didn't want to sell extra slots. Immortal is not a game anyways so there is no point in discussing how much you would have to spend to "play" it.

Mind you, I've followed what's going on with Immortal, you can't really put anything past Blizzard anymore, but I don't think this is anything hinky. It's pretty normal to have a character limit on player names.

No indication of how many slots there are

they dont have to be anime proportioned females, but if i look at a huge broad shouldered male barbarian i sure as hell dont expect female barbarians to be equally as huge.

Have you seen a Barbarian? Maybe they just are that big I mean it's all fiction and I have seen female dwarfs with beards in video games

Death by SNU SNU? xD I just treat stuff like this as a galaxy far, far away and character looks are creators/ artists choice. Same with Asia MMOs and big boob female character models btw. Maybe they really can wield swords the size of trees? Maybe they have a special metal alloy that is really light? Who knows

It was just a statement, albeit it could easily be read as a negative judgement considering the rest of my post(s). On August 09 2022 22:42 Manit0u wrote: Ehh... Who knows Well, Blizzard has this thing with ginormous shoulder armor especially in WoW. Perhaps they made all the characters broad shouldered so the shoulder pads can fit? Or they really just got lazy and used the same model and skeleton for both male and female characters, at least for barbarians?
