+ Show Spoiler + Okay, so I know we all have doubts about this game living up to it's predecessor or being just another dissapointment after IW. Let me tell you that after my playthrough I was thoroughly impressed. Any preconceived notions I had going into this are completely gone. To kick things off, the intro is amazing. I have never seen such an enthralling intro for a videogame in my life. Sissies may cringe a little, but if you're all for atmosphere & storytelling (Deus Ex 1's crowning jewel), then by the intro's end your mouth shall be on the floor watering for moar. Here's a teaser to how much effort they're putting in: ^ This is no the intro. Intro is better ![]() After the prelude you're immediately thrusted into the real Deus Ex world, where your plethora of choices lead to different consequences and situations - and believe me, the consequences are very real. I was extremely shocked In the first open level that taking my time looking around the workplace (instead of heading straight to the helipad to rescue hostages, among other things) and getting to know everyone before I left had consequences too. After a while of conversing and finding your bearings in the office you're infolinked by your boss to say that the hostages have been killed because I wasted so much time. - Wow! In the traditional DX games you're given as much time as possible to complete missions. Hell, you could get to know the entire Hong Kong before completeing the first mission. But these developers have taken realism and action/reaction seriously. Note to self: If there's a hostage situation and you're the man they're relying on. Don't flirt with the receptionist for 10 minutes. Of course, I was pissed so I reloaded the level and rushed through the office to get to that damn helipad. & yes, the hostages lived this time, don't worry. After the first mission you're introduced to the majority of the elements within the game. Things like hacking, reading emails, pocket secrataries (data pads), credits all make their way back into the game. Newer elements such as the cover system, time dependant health regen or even persuasion in conversations are a welcomed addition (persuasion mod adds huge depth to conversations and only increases atmospheric harmony). Especially the myriad of augmentations your character can take. You gradually feel yourself becoming a 'super weapon' just like in DX 1 (I still think the fully upgraded health regen in that game was imba - godmode anyone?) Levels, although linear, are multi-layered and riddled with back-alleys, sewers, fire-escapes and secret areas just like DX 1. You're given multiple routes to complete the same mission. Stealth & clemency are rewarded fruitfully which I was cheerful about as I have always been more of the 'avoid the firestorm, pick your battles' type of player. Voice acting is ^_^ near-perfect. Unfortunately, it's all tasteful so far, unlike: Nostalgiac bro? Which was a real bonus for me in Deus Ex 1 (but I can see the counter-argument of course). Gameplay is smooth but elegant. Graphics are okay (won't matter). The Music is incredible. & the story is so well developed, it's extrememly believable (Seriously, the world is divided up into pro-augs and no-augs with philosphical, ethical and moral debates held everywhere. Even between the bums & hobos) You can feel this world is torn and changing, fast. It raises many, many questions. I've learnt a lot about myself during this beta which is interesting. Prosthetic Augmentation? Gene manipulation? Drug dependancy? Evolution or Mutilation? Left behind? Thoughts? - Honestly, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is so well done that I see it more than living up to It's predecessor and surpassing it in many ways (dialogue, atmospheric build-up, story depth). There's so much more for me to say, but I won't. I've written my All I want to say is Buy it. It'll be well worth it. Trust me. & with that I leave you with some badassery: Yeah, you want to talk about morals? The terminator himself:

Pretty much this, I haven't played the demo but have been hearing excellent things about it, so that was enough for me to preorder the augmented edition. Only 10 dollars more in the US, which puts it at the same price as the Console game. For an art book and other assorted Limited edition crap that's a really good price IMO.

After seeing some of them I'll definitely want to see them all though, a few are insanely cool.
