In the English translation he said something along the lines that he was jealous of Hyrule because the winds were cool and full of life, while in the desert it was hot and brought death.

I'm guessing the manager of the second EB store you visited decided to take theirs down since the Switch has been out for a couple months now. Good luck on your hunt to find a Switch! There are video games stores in Belgium who have a similar practice. They use dummy boxes for their games. When I went to buy Splatoon 2 on Sunday they had around six or seven boxes on display, but the copy I bought was the last one they had in store. Personally I'm not a fan of the practice, and as a customer it can be very frustrating to pick a game only to hear that the game is sold out at the checkout counter.

My friend is like "okay im starting the last place now" (the abandoned/destroyed looking hyrule castle or whatever) and then he just literally just climbs up a few walls and hes at the final boss in 5 minutes (??) Just seemed really lackluster but I guess this game was more for the people that liked to waste hours doing nothing in GTA. I just did the missions really. It's not really the game for you if following quest markers is all you want to get out of an open world game. There aren't even all that many quests in the game to begin with, and the majority of them can only be discovered by going off the beaten track. In 120 hours or more I think I've done less than fifteen NPC-initiated sidequests. Most quests I just kind of happened upon. I'm actually considering doing a three-hearts challenge run, something I haven't really considered doing in any game, ever.

Here they do that or if a second hand game remove the disk and keep it in storage (so when you hand them the empty box they pick up the disk). Pretty much stops shoplifting of games since there are no games to steal in the actual store area.

The campaign is pretty mediocre, although that might just be me subconsciously comparing it to Portal and Portal 2's excellent campaigns. Missions are not exactly all that creative, and some missions even require the player to use a more deliberate play style, which feels at odds with the core mechanics of the game itself which promote fast-paced gameplay. The boss design is alright if a bit on the predictable side. One thing that is a bit baffling to me is the lack of bot matches for the multiplayer modes. Considering the portability of the Switch it seemed like a no-brainer to at least include that. Unlike Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2 does not feel like a system seller. It's good, but not nearly of the same calibre as BoTW. I think the average score on metacritic is by and large correct: it's a fun game, but hardly an earth-shattering release. In a time where many gamers own more than one console, people have a lot different options when it comes to casual multiplayer shooters (or games), and Splatoon 2 is still a pretty niche game on what is up until this point a pretty niche console. If anyone is on the fence for buying a Switch, I'd recommend getting Breath of the Wild first, and Splatoon 2 once you're bored of the former.

I also don't like how they are pushing it further and further into anime direction. Probably not a problem for many TLers but it annoys me (like taking selfies and all those dumb ass camera poses). What story they did put in there was mostly over emotional without the story leading you to give a dawn about them first. Like OoT had you meet characters a few times at least so their deaths meant something. I guess I just want more of the same formula I fell in love with as a kid because Twilight Princess was the last Zelda game I really enjoyed.

Maybe I'm just getting too old or maybe it's the new directions the developers are taking but I'm not feeling it at all. Overworld is obviously pretty cool and I definitely like what they did there but dungeons, bosses, and overall story are waaaaay below Zelda standards. I really don't see why they couldn't add proper dungeons instead of like a hundred shrines. Is any Zelda fan really happy with those short dungeons in the beasts? In Ocarina of Times those would just be "pre-dungeons". I also don't like how they are pushing it further and further into anime direction. Looks like a good contender for most overrated game of the year, between a combination of it getting default praise by being a Zelda game and the fact that switch purchasers desperately wanted a game to call good as it's all they had at the time.

Or maybe people like the person above just genuinely thought it was a great game? Nah, that's clearly a crazy option, better think that people are rating it highly for arbitrary reasons rather than just because they like the game ![]()
