That's me! #1 on my best games of all time list etc. I couldn't stop myself from playing it as soon as the Switch 2 launched though, so my most recent playthrough isn't that long ago. Excited to play it again in higher quality in the future.
Today is the 40th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda franchise! A few months ago was Super Mario Bros.'s 40th anniversary, and in 6 days it'll be Pokemon's 30th anniversary!
Nintendo really should do an annual Mario Direct and an annual Zelda Direct, similar to how there's usually an annual Pokemon Direct/Presents. Something is better than nothing, especially if it's a teaser related to a new game / the Switch 2.
If anyone is looking for a free demo of a cute, colorful, goofy, fun 3-D puzzle-platformer: Pardon My French Toast.
If anyone is looking for a free demo of a combat-oriented, spellcasting 2-D side-scroller: Ariana and the Elder Codex.
If anyone is looking for a free demo of a gorgeous, slower-paced 2-D stealth-adventure game: Planet of Lana II.
If anyone is looking for a free demo of an addicting, Tetris-inspired, turn-based, timed-puzzle game: Bloclash.
If anyone is looking for a free demo of a retro-style, Zelda-inspired, puzzle-adventure game: Under The Island.
For those who don't know where to find all the free demos for Nintendo Switch 2: Home screen -> Nintendo eShop icon -> Great Deals -> Filter and check off only the "Games with Demos" After that, usually I change the "Best sellers" option to "Release date (new to old)" and check the most recent additions to the list each month, so that I can stay up-to-date and try out lesser-known games.

Back on p.225 of this thread, there was an article where a Star Wars: Outlaws game developer explained that one benefit of game key cards was the potential for increased performance compared to physical games/cartridges, allowing for bigger / more demanding games ( https://tl.net/forum/games/515297-nintendo-switch-thread?page=225#4484 ), and now that claim has been further corroborated by Square Enix’s Naoki Hamaguchi, in reference to Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade's success on the Nintendo Switch 2:
Naoki Hamaguchi:
There’s simply no way around key cards in certain respects. If you compare loading directly from a game cartridge (containing all game data) to loading from the Nintendo Switch 2’s internal storage, the load speed difference is roughly double.
Some have expressed concern that multiplatform development may impose constraints not only on graphics, but even on game design itself. However, this is precisely why we didn’t choose a cartridge.
Our game design isn’t built around loading all data upfront, with nothing further being loaded afterward. Even during gameplay, data is constantly swapped in and out, and given that premise, the loading speed from a game card would inevitably be insufficient, leading to stress for the player. In addition, with currently available cartridge capacity, there is the practical limitation that the full game data simply wouldn’t fit in the first place.
However, as long as we can secure the high-speed storage read speeds such as SSD or UFS (on Switch 2), the design we’re aiming for becomes achievable within the scope of optimization for each platform. For the third game in the trilogy, we’re proceeding with development with the goal of delivering a large-scale experience similar to Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, so please rest assured on that point.
In the past, when faced with practical issues related to load speed and storage capacity we couldn’t resolve, we had to decide not to release on Nintendo systems. However, Nintendo Switch 2’s performance is impressive, and with a key card format like FFVII Remake, releasing the games became possible. I believe the only thing I can do is continue to sincerely communicate that fact to users.

I’m kind of excited to see if we get a gen10 reveal, after the 2 legends games I’m now certain I’m a Pokémon main line game fan. I liked ZA and it was fun, but the expansion didn’t cut it for me.
The timed stuff was not fun at all and I ended up trying to save as much as possible to get better donuts later, only to be bored and frustrated with the system before even using said saved resources.
I really really enjoyed and still do S&V. Stand alone they are my most played games on switch and combined they rival some of my most played games on my pc so def worth their cost.

I really liked Z-A and loved Arceus, but I also enjoy the mainline games (S&V were great) and I'm excited for Gen10 too! Rumor has it they'll be called Winds and Waves, but I guess we'll see!
For today's Pokemon Presents, I expect more Pokopia hype, and I'm hoping for Gen10 info. I predict Gen10 will be released in time for the holidays.
Every time I watch a new PP, I'm reminded of just how many different Pokemon games, apps, skews, events, and competitions are ongoing and have monthly/annual updates. It's insane.
Gale of Darkness on NSO's GameCube looks cool, and it never hurts to have free access to another Pokemon game that I hadn't played before
More Pokopia news was great, revealing a ton more Pokemon, more Ditto skills, custom/retro Pokemon music selections, and more regions/biomes to explore. This game is even more massive than was previously thought!
And the final PP presentation was... Gen 10! The underwater clip is intriguing, and the graphics are noticeably improved too. Winds and Waves are officially confirmed, surprisingly releasing in 2027 though, not 2026.
I wonder what the big NS2 game is going to be for the 2026 holiday season, especially since no new Mario or Zelda has been announced yet.
Gale of Darkness looks great, that dark Lugia always gets me.
The gen10 reveal looked good to me, not a massive fan of the grass starter but the others look ok. In the end the final form is what matters.
With the dress up pikachu i guess there might be something there for people to customize their pokemon look. Not my thing but i know that will roll well with a lot of people.
Underwater footage and the wave/ocean sounds at the end after the images cut do indeed make it look like instead of just flying on top of your pokemon (lets go pikachu style), we might get to go under the sea in a similar fashion?
Agreed that the final form is what matters most. I've usually chosen water or fire as my starter because their typing / coverage often works better for me than grass's, but we'll see if a secondary type for the final evolutions changes things.
Maybe I'll customize the appearance of my starter and whichever Pokemon I'll be using regularly, but usually I ignore the cosmetic stuff.
Flying through the air should be a given, as we've already seen that mechanic a few times in previous games, and additionally traveling underwater would be pretty cool! Good opportunity for more exploration and being able to catch certain Pokemon without them needing to come to the surface.
I don't care much about cutting-edge graphics, but Pokemon games have received a lot of past criticism for extremely underwhelming art. Here is a side-by-side comparison between upcoming Winds/Waves and past Scarlet/Violet/Snap:
It looks really nice. What I'll want to know is if it runs well. I'm not an fps fiend, I don't need 120 fps, I don't even 60 fps, but at the very least it has to be stable. Scarlet and Violet even watching other people play you could feel the switch struggling to even run the game which was not a good look on a game that didn't look very good.

Yeah a stable framerate will be important! I have a feeling we won't hear much more about Winds and Waves for a while, but whenever they do drop more info, I hope it includes a smooth 30+ fps.

That was very early days based on my experience.
I bought them when one of the expo's came out, and i never faced stability issues. Occasional clipping here and there, but that hardly makes a game "unplayable" as people were claiming online.
I almost didn't buy the game when i saw the feedback people were giving online.....one knows not to blindly believe what people say online because people just love to complain, however, when the sentiment is that massive i wondered a bit if would be 60 bucks wasted.
