But Square Enix and Acquire have been making PlayStation games for decades now, and neither are indie dev companies. Personally, I don't think that the HD-2D graphics look low budget or indie-looking. They remind me of older, retro JRPGs, for a nice nostalgia kick, but that's very different.
But whatever the reason for the price differential (sale, cost to create physical versions like sharkie said, etc.), if you're not going to play it handheld at all, and if the PlayStation version is cheaper, sounds like you might as well get it on that console
It could be retail practices are different there. In the US, pricing across consoles is normally the same unless a certain retail store has a sale. I've started noticing in the recent year, looking at dekudeals, that stores frequently slash their prices by $1-2 and often not by whole numbers. I'm guessing it has to do with price comparison websites?
Chris Pratt isn't even trying... that is just... ugh. Meanwhile Jack Black, and Charlie Day are rocking it. This movie is going to do well that is obvious, I just hope we get a Luigi Haunted Mansion movie as a result.

Based on the trailers, this is my ranking for voices: 1. Bowser 2. Luigi 3. Peach and Toad tie 5. Haven't heard Donkey Kong yet, but probably here 6. Mario

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Bowser voice seems on point and don't really have major complaints concerning Luigi/Peach/Toad but I just can't understand Mario's voice acting. It just seems pretty off.

The weirdest thing to me is that Charles Martinet - the actual, real voice of Mario - is officially in the movie's cast. "Martinet, who serves as the regular voice actor for Mario and Luigi among other characters in the video games, will appear in "surprise cameos" in the film.[2]" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Super_Mario_Bros._Movie He's famous for not just being the voice of Mario, but also of Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, and a ton of other Nintendo characters, and I have no idea what his role will be for this movie. It would be a little weird if, for instance, Wario made an appearance and had his real Charles Martinet voice, when neither Mario nor Luigi had their real Charles Martinet voice, so I'm assuming he'll either voice a bunch of irrelevant characters that won't sound recognizable (avoiding something like "Why does that random goomba actually sound like the real Mario?") or maybe a cartoon human caricature of himself will be present for a scene or two.
And even if the casting director had approached Charles Martinet and Martinet declined the role of Mario, for some reason, I still don't understand the decision to hire Chris Pratt to do a Chris Pratt voice in Mario's body.
Edit: I just realized that Seth Rogen (as DK) says "Yes, Fire!" when obtaining the fire flower power-up in the latest trailer... and I'm pretty comfortable with keeping that voice at #5.
Double Edit: Additional footage, including more Seth Rogen / DK.
Started Octopath Traveler 2. The aim is to play it as blind as possible, we'll see how long that lasts. Pretty sure I could've never beaten Galdera in the original game without looking up a strat, ridiculously difficult fight that was xd Already encountered 2 Caits during the first 2 chapter 1 stories, not sure if super lucky or buffed encounter rate. 1 fled, 1 was killed. Also not sure how I feel about the day/night or latent power mechanics yet, I felt like the first game was deep enough already when it came to combat systems and tactical choices

I should be finishing OT2 within the next week or two, and I've absolutely loved the ride. I was also nervous about both the latent power mechanics and the day/night cycles, but I think the devs did a solid job of integrating them without forcing the entire adventure or combat system to revolve around them.
I don't think the natural encounter rate of rare monsters (caits and octopuffs) is higher than in OT1, but there are some skills and accessories that can significantly increase their encounter rate, which is a nice option.

Unfortunately thats just the problem with Hollywood and animated features. I didn't look this up, but I'm pretty sure every big animated film in the last 20 years have been celebrity actors doing voices instead of actual VO talent.
I'm confidant thats the case actually, I looked up a popular voice actor, Laura Bailey, and she's been in so many anime and video games under the sun.....yet somehow she hasn't done an animated movie outside of anime.
It doesn't make sense to me, especially considering I think this era of cinematic universes and franchises kinda proves that stars dont matter, the IP does.
On Netflix John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch have a skit poking fun at this. I don't think a bunch of kids were super excited to watch the Smurfs movie because Mandy Patinkin starred as Papa Smurf.

Even with a prerendered gameplay demo Nintendo could not erase all of the clipping from the game. I pray there is a successor to the Switch in the works.
Meanwhile my plan to play completely blind has ended at Lajackal lol. The guy attacks 2-3 times per turn, has a move that puts an ally at 1 hp and then several AOE skills, brutal.

The jackal/owl fight is the most annoying one of the 8 main story arcs, I think.
Besides killing off the animal's HP, you also need to survive 3-4 rounds of the 1-HP-then-AOE attacks, for dumb storyline/dialogue reasons. The final bosses always seem to have mandatory dialogue part-way through the battles, making it impossible to kill them in one round even if they're broken and even if you deal a million damage at once. They need to have a few turns during combat, for the combat to complete. They need to become conscious, take a turn or two or three, and then die.
