Lots of decisions seem potentially interesting, but also unnecessarily obscure and not necessarily that exciting once you get past the initial confusion.

Maybe with Civ 7 approaching, I'll figure out the time to sit down with Civ 6 and really get past the UI clutter and nuisances and see how good of a game it is under the surface.

There are a bunch of quality of life mods you can use to make UI much, much better. Here is a list of very good ones:

Yeah. I've usually tried to get away with unmodded games - In Civ 5 I felt I mostly needed the faster aircraft combat thingy - but with Civ 6 it really feels like I need some mods. Thanks for the list, looks like it has fixes for a lot of my gripes.

Happy Julius Caesar release day, should be available in about 4 hours or so.

Looks like for me (and judging by many other reviews) the update breaks all DLCs and leaves you with the vanilla Civ6 game.

It fixed itself for me after I just let it be for a couple of hours and then restarted the game a couple of times. Looks like some content is still downloading / assembling even once Steam says update complete.

Do new DLCs tend break mods in Civ 6, and you have to wait for the authors to update them?

Yeah I also have Anthology and didn't get the pass. Said fuck it and bought it, was in the mood.

All mods work again and all DLC content is back.

Playing a game as Nzinga, she is fucking nuts haha. The home continent bonus seems so broken, my cities are just exploding.

I have the rest of the Anthology. I can either buy the Leader Pass for $19.99 (nope) or complete the Anthology bundle for $0.00 (yay). Unfortunately, it wasn't letting me complete the transaction. I did get the Julius Caesar pack. Haven't tried actually playing a game (busy playing something else) but I did load up the game and all my DLC are listed as enabled.

Yep. Mods either no longer work or break things making the game unable to play normally. Have to wait for the Authors to update said Mods.

For a major update with game mechanics, yes. For a bunch of new leaders, very unlikely. I have like 20 mods installed on top of all DLCs and all of them work after the Leader Pass update. Just took a couple or restarts of the game for some reason. But that seems to be independent of mods, other people also reported that their game reverted to vanilla temporarily after downloading the Leader Pass update.

Is there a similar list of recommended balance mods? I used to have a link someplace but I can't find it.

The only balance mod I use is Terra Mirabilis for better Natural Wonders https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1461463960

The new leaders come without Achievements unfortunately. Wanted to complete my win-with-every-leader achievement collection.
