Played some Cleo P. With a few resources on floods in the early game you get an insane start. Feels very much dependent on spawn luck of course, but you can get multiple 7 yield tiles with your first worker and the early culture is a great boost too.

I still do. Will be playing Civ 6 for a very long time still. I bought Civ 5/6 at launch thinking that a more bare bones base game has its charm before the expansions bring up additional features. But it just didn't pan out that way. Civ games aren't very good until the Xpacs get released. I also find individual DLC to be overpriced and don't buy them outside of a platinum pack.

Ludwig II still surprises me.... I mean Frederick the Great was right there. Who actually built things other than Castles. Some of which are still in use to this day.

Is this about that one vocal guy on the civfanatics forum? The issue is that Korea's UD is so OP that their leader bonuses need to be tame by comparison. It makes it underwhelming for them to get a new leader.

I played a game of Ludwig. The design of the unique power is hilarious, couldn't be more fitting. It's amazingly powerful early game, but falls off by the mid game. I had a 1 turn Political Philosophy just with my wonder construction sites all over. It doesn't say clearly in the description, but wonder construction also give +2 culture to city center, so with 1 district in a city each research that allows starting a wonder is an instant +4 culture at no cost (but a temporary blocked tile - not a problem early game).

Well... Old World just announced another DLC coming in January. At this point, plain to everyone, that Mohawk Games are now running circles around Firaxis and the Civilization IP at this point. Speculation was that after Firaxis released the last leader pack then they would show a teaser in say March for Civ VII... well that time has come and gone. So either it has been restarted or it isn't even in development at all.

Which would be a shame.

It's going to take a very, very, very long time for any 4X game to even get close to Civ 6. With how good the game is, I doubt I bother with a potential Civ 7 until there is a platinum edition.

I only play a few games here and there every year and there are so many interesting factions that I haven't repeated any leader yet. Then again, I played Yongle and Ludwig II last week and those two have very interesting abilities.
