Seems a bit excessive even if they want people to spend money. Also turning 4 stars into 5 looks like a real ordeal.

Yeah, rerolling until you get a 5 in the first few hero unlocks after castle upgrades is pretty worthwhile tbh. The one 5 I have can basically solo most missions. Just doesn't take damage while also dealing a ton.

Should I re-roll if I have five 4star heroes? Including two Roys?

The abilities/weapons you unlock are more important though I'd say, some heroes get pretty crazy stuff at 5 stars.

Although I have a few 4* that are doing amazing, I have to feel that if they were 5* they would be likely unstoppable entirely. I'm currently testing if more stars = higher stat gains. It's really not that obvious with 3* vs 4* at least (I've checked up to level 10 for a number of heroes). I have a couple of 5* heroes with crazy stat gains, but it's just because they're good heroes I think, I haven't had the chance to compare them with their lower versions. Honestly it seems to me that the stat gains are the same (if the hero is the same of course). Also can somebody explain what happens at level 20 if you decide to upgrade your character to one more star? Does he get reset to level 1 with base stats? I certainly hope he keeps the skills he learned at least. Edit: Hadn't read Vaelone's comment. It's possible that 5* gets stat boosts and not 4* over 3*. It's also possible the stat increase curve gets steeper after level 10 (which is the level I've done all my tests at).

I assume they keep all skills, I didn't actually pay the cost for doing it so I can't check.

For same-type fighters, the damage law is literally "Atk - Def/Res" (of course if Def >= Atk, 0 damage). I was assuming that "Mt" (the "Might"/power of your weapon in all FE games, also present in this game) was really important and kinda factored in the fights, The damage law seems less straight forward for type advantages, but I don't expect it to include Mt either... Seems like the weapon's Mt is just added to Atk on the character's stats.

I actually realize now that the damage law is actually really more or less "attack minus defense" in all FE games (it's just less obvious because there are a lot more modifiers that have an influence on the final damage output in regular games). I just knew from intuition that it was a linear function of a lot of stuff (like Strength and Mt and all that), but not that simple of a linear function :D.

+ Show Spoiler + You get +X/-X damage when you attack an opponent with a weapon advantage/disadvantage, where X, the "Weapon Triangle Bonus", is: 2 if 10 <= Atk (yours) < 15 3 if 15 <= Atk < 20 4 if 20 <= Atk < 25 5 if 25 <= Atk < 30 So it's a 20% bonus/malus basically. Which means that those weapons/skill that give you +20/-20% in the weapon triangle double that effect.

I hope it caps at 25 and doesn't just keep increasing. If you can only play 1 part at a time in future chapters that'd be pretty silly.
