For those stealing from bosses, I apparently discovered that bosses also have random stats due to hard mode bonuses, rather than having a fixed hard mode stat. The variance shouldn't be crazy, but you might get surprised.

As far as how much you can abuse this, I'm assuming that you can theoretically continue resetting from the chapter before, and hoping you didn't burn the exact same number of RN's to get some threshold. Probably not worth it though unless you're using save states.

Lyn Mode Sain solo is about as silly as I remember.

I've more or less concluded that the hardest chapter for me is going to be the desert map. If I can get past that, I should more or less be in the clear. I'll probably deploy Heath undrafted for that map, since the rules allow undrafted units to get desert items, so I can use him to get them while I worry about routing everything else. But nonetheless with no mages and no fliers, that map is going to suck.

Slowly making it through Lyn mode, and dang growths feel bad in this game after playing fates. It's kind of amazing that this was the first game to really inflate player stats compared to enemy's.

Got like 4 two point levels in a row between Kent and Lyn, and I'm past the point where I'm fine trying to save scum.

Not sure how others are getting through this run so far, but I finally had time to finish up Lyn mode. Kent promoted at 19 and Nils to level 7. I gave the angelic robe and energy ring to Lyn.

Thinking about it more, getting Kent to maybe around level 13 or 14 is probably good enough for a normal run, but what the heck.

Plugging away at Lyn mode, just got to chapter 7x.

Gave Matthew the angelic robe. My Lyn has been pretty RNG blessed this run so she doesn't really need it. She does have sub-par hp (that's kind of to be expected though) but everything else I'm happy with. Well I'd like more strength, but I can't complain with what she's got so far.

Currently on Chapter 10 on Conquest, the new battle system is a bit hard to get used to(the expanded weapon triangle wtf) and I definitely feel more pressure here then I did in Awakening, (flying fucks everywhere). Also first time I find my Archer to be quite useful. Seems as though the game favours characters with high speed more then effer, Effie is a nice tank but she needs some speed or she will get 2xed everytime, also she sloooow.

gotta give some speedswings to her when I get the chance.

Cavalier seems strong, Severa/flying units seem strong, shuriken throwers are tableflipping.

I recommend saving the speedwings for xander. They turn him into a monster.

Speedwing split is normally 2x Xander, 1x Leo (if we're being picky, Leo actually should get the first one because +2 Speed doesn't put Xander over any doubling thresholds in 16 + 17 unless you abuse a lot of stuff/get lucky). Effie usually can get by without them. Her speed growth is high and once she gets Great Knight promo, she gets a big +3 bump because GK doesn't have garbage base speed like Knight/General. She won't always double, but she can usually get to "won't be doubled" territory.

Conquest is an interesting mix of units with high speed low str (e.g. Selena, Niles, Kaze) and high str low speed (e.g. Xander, Effie, Leo) so a lot of your teambuilding comes down to using the tools available to you (pairup, forge, tonics, etc.) to patch up a character's deficiencies.

Best recommendation for Effie is Arthur pairup since it bumps her speed, adds more Str, and makes Percy exist.

Azura wants to spend a lot of time unpaired, which is awkward for Xander since he almost always wants that speed bump. If Charlotte isn't in play, Kaze A-rank is usually the next best option since Siegbert comes too late to matter anyway (and his paralogue sucks, lol). After those 2, all the other +Spd options are all very similar.

Felicia is good for Leo, Adventurer Nyx is also fine (better boosts, but higher cost since you have to promote Nyx and reclass her, which costs 4k gold and some earlygame XP).

She does, but I do know a lot of people that have been really successful, especially in late game, without using Azura at all, so it is relatively possible. Personally, I leave her as a dancer in every chapter, but it isn't the only way to use her.

Was not even aware Nyx reclasses to outlaw. Generally, if I ever use Nyx, it's so that I can get a really glass cannon Ophelia for mass lulz.

I do like the A-rank Kaze you mentioned, especially since i have had a very tough time capitalizing on Siegbert.

Nyx is actually a pretty good early promote for C10, since DK gives her a big enough bump to her Def that she can handle the left side for most of the chapter.

Siegbert's best class is Wyvern Lord since he doesn't have a Prf weapon that makes him want to stay in a sword class (and can get an Axe rank by Offspring Sealing to Great Knight). The problem is mostly that his paralogue is really awful to do late in the game, and when you get him there's not a whole lot of chapters left for him to be useful in.
