The general consensus right now is that she's probably a mech pilot. Her suit looks like a plug suit from Evangelion, this in-game poster makes it look like she's in some kind of mech, she's in a group called "meka" (mecha), and she's a professional RTS player so it makes thematic sense that she's piloting/commanding something.
I just freaking love the "100% dokidoki" on her poster.
Edit: Also some golden posts:
"I'm going to guess this character is going to have a lot more Twitch based mechanics."
"Should require average of 300 APM to be played properly."
"If they ever add D.Va to heroes of the storm, she is going to be so confused..." > "Imagine her face when they add a new hero to Overwatch, whose back story is they're a Heroes of the Storm player who mains D.Va."

Aslong as blizzard doesn't make a TF2 style pyro class i'll be happy with any class they choose to do.
|
Are they still inviting people to the Beta?
|
They've had a few more waves of invites, but there hasn't been one today. I'm pretty sure we don't know how many more waves there will be.
|
I would guess they don't invite during the weekend because of limited staff if something go's wrong.
There will be more invites at a later date for sure.

The UI is pretty minimalist and you only see a gold glow when you're being healed (plus the name and health of your healer which may or may not be considered clutter), small blue arrows when you're being boosted, and the large words STUNNED or PINNED when you're unable to perform an action (so it's moot). Of course, you also get kill confirmation messages (maybe you'd prefer HLDM-style corner icons?) and most importantly, buff notifications, such as when Widowmaker uses ult to grant wall vision.
Add all that together with reload and muzzle flashes that can take up more than half the screen and it gets very cluttered very quickly.
Most of it has no purpose besides blinding you... Which in an FPS game is absolutely detrimental to game play. I don't need to see a huge eliminated flash on the screen to see that I've killed someone and stunned/pinned could be taken care of with much more sutble queues than big words that take up the screen.
FPS is just one of those games where screen real estate is at a premium. You want to see everything all the time and you don't want anything blocking that view un less it's vitally important

Does anybody know if the beta has a mmr system? The past 50 games seem to be people who just got the beta and were walkovers. Also, I have an extra beta key, is there a way to let someone use it without them having access to the email?

Anyway, I highly recommend watching A_seagull to us serfs who haven't been invited to beta. Very skilled player and he's shown a lot of the depth of the game even though beta just came out.

Yea watching seagull scrim and get destroyed by the devs is awesome. Devs that are good at their own game, who would of thought it?

Of course they are better than someone who has only played the game for a few hours. Pure aiming skills only take you so far. They have much more experience, know the characters and the maps, the current imbalances, which team composition counters which... David Kim used to be the best SC2 player in the world in the beginning.

Seems they ended up 7-7 today. Something like 1-17 yesterday. They close in pretty quickly as understanding and map awareness increases.

So after playing a bunch of games 20+ i think . I´m not so sure about this game while it takes some aspects from fps and provides different fps playstyles (quake cs etc ) it also includes a bunch of realy bad fps tropes like the never moving sniper , turret sections aimbots and more . Tbh to many things have some sort of autoaim . Also the maps are so dull . Its just a variant of 1 big choke+ 2 smaller entrances(sometimes only for certain classes) . Don´t get me wrong its trying to bring so many genre together and i quite enjoy the variety of playstyles . But overall it seems they try to level the playingfield so you don´t need any aim . Maybe its just the frustration speaking and or fatigue

Would be epic if she sets up a mobile computer somewhere and controls multiple bunny bots on the field with different purposes! mecha is fine too though !

From what I have seen aim is important. Seagull that I have been watching ends up top or near the top of his team regardless of hero. Plenty of room to do stuff better than others.
It isn't a pure aim game though, that I can agree with.

McCree ultimate has an aimbot which is announced to everyone before being active and can't go through shields
Soldier 74 ultimate has a soft aimbot where you have to put the reticle on the hitbox for it to work. don't know if he announces when he triggers his ultimate.
turrets are countered by AoE (most likely Farah)
don't know what's going to end up being considered OP in a competitive sense, but from a viewing perspective Mercy (heals & resurrection) and Reinhardt (tank + huge shield) seem to be some of the more important classes to have in a team comp
heard Lucio might be considered OP but I have no idea what's in his kit other than I think he has a Heal over Time
in terms of McCree & Soldier 74, if there's a player carrying the game with them, it's because they can aim without the need of their ultimate. if the player can't aim without the ultimate, they might get some kills with the ultimate, but they'll be a drag on the overall team most of the time
|
Soldier 74 also announced "I got you in my sights" when he ults.
|
I don't understand soldier 74's ultimate. From what I have seen he has to put the crosshair over the model to use it. So that makes it different from aiming normally how? Also he seems so very bland compared to every other character.

his weapon spread normally starts going everywhere after the initial "X" amount of bullets of spraying
his ultimate guarantees ignores the spread and gaurantees his bullets hit the enemy hitbox if he puts his ultimate reticle over an enemy

if waves are coming out every day, im hoping that when i get my new pc, blizz will be hoping to test out their game on my specs with the new processors
