In the second transition phase we chain Amplify Magic (3 mages in the raid). The fight is really fucking long so as long as we don't cast them after the boss is like at ~45% ish they are ready for the transition phase and i would guess they'd be ready for the end of p4 as well. Assuming none triggers mines. Fuck people that trigger mines.

Seriously though my guild would be doing so much better if "people" looked at those fucking mines. It took us like 2-3 attempts to get that second transition down nicely, yet we have like 15 wipes on him so far. In normal mode. Averaging like 643 ilvl. Fuck.

Nobody told me of that spell existing and it wasn't mentioned in raid. We had two mages, maybe three o.0

If people are dying to too much aoe you could try slowing down on the little adds


for heroic due to lack of damage we were doing:

first transition, kill both mages then stack, stack ~2-3 defensives and a tranquility etc, clear all of the adds within ~4-5 seconds with a little buffer room for healing between burst aoe

second transition, kill the reaver then one mage, stack and do the same thing, break off and kill the other mage then resume boss fight

can't really slow down on those adds unless we used different strategy, and we were doing that one because we didn't do enough damage to kill it the way we did on normal (killing reaver then ogre mage 1, ogre mage 2 while having a few people assigned to controlled AOE and killing the snakes 1 at a time)

Everyone should have Bigwigs/DBM which shows a timer till the next mine spawn(also useful for Nova's and Adds). I don't get what is so hard about moving when that timer hits but people still do. In fact, these mines aren't any different from the other 99912312031 Void Zones/Fire zones we have had yet somehow these are magnetic mines.

mines are the easiest part of the fight on normal/hc! On mythic i think they stay on the ground and you have mines everywhere so that's probably a huge problem, but on normal it's literally a case of learning how to move and then suddenly it's no longer a fight mechanic any more, it doesn't really do anything, damage anyone or limit your movement in a significant way unless it's messed up

as a melee dps, you just never put your back to one that's within like 15 yards or so

as a ranged DPS, same thing but also move if he drops one at your feet. Ranged are moving as a group anyway so you don't even really have to react to it being on you in particular, just it existing at all. There's so many way more threatening mechanics in that fight for a few little purple circles on the ground to be a concern to people that have some idea how to move during the fight (that's kinda on the raid leader to make clear to people, and the people to listen - ours just stack on a marked person and rotate clockwise or whatever those ranged dudes do when i'm hitting the boss)

Yes. Bigwigs even makes a fucking sound when the mine is being casted.

The difference between these and other void zones, is that if some random baddy steps on a random void zone he just takes extra damage. If they step on a mine they also blow everyone up, so you can really tell who stands in the fire

To be fair, DBM has like 15 alerts, but you can manually configure stuff to scream at you in a unique way if some mechanic is being a problem for you

also, "GTFO" configured for max volume should be mandatory :D

Also, if you use the /range command (like /range 5) then DBM will override it with apprioriate ranges. If you set it to play one of the alert sounds when only one target is in range (setting more targets had undesirable results for me) then it will only alert during mechanics like the 35 yard bomb on the tank, the jumpy arcane debuff on somebody within jump range of you etc, it's really helpful (you just can't rely on it 100%, because it only seems to show one mechanic at a time)

IIRC mine even tells me, Spark(35 yards/12 yards)etc and /says it in the raid, I have people running like 35 yards away from the boss losing massive dps while only neededing to run 12 yards or so.

addons make life so much easier but not easy enough for some people in my raid

The raid encounters (heroic, mythic at least) are tuned for people using addons and voice comns to some minor degree of effectiveness (:

Are you finding many deaths are happening during that 4-5 second burst phase? Just running it through in my head it feels really risky, especially if fixate hits one of the healers using a big cd (or if a dps doesnt move out).

Although, if you're getting through that and your healers arent bled dry, it doesnt matter.

No, if it's done super cleanly then all the adds die within like 4-5 seconds and nobody hits even half health because of the power word barrier, anti magic shield and other damage reduction + tranq. It's just kinda a bit slow because you need to allocate 10-15 seconds to stack everyone, then use cooldowns, then burst, wait, burst, wait a sec, finish off the few that are left etc. It's not as fast as just running around like a maniac spamming empower rune weapon and holding down the blood boil button

here i included a video, this was not the cleanest execution, ignore the mediocre UI and hotkeying (working on it)

that is Heroic, not normal. I guess it's a little longer than 5 seconds

If anyone is really really bad with mines, just force him to install weakauras or powerauras and have a trigger for them.
I cant find any good ones on google so heres one i just made but cant guarantee it works because i couldnt test it and im not an expert on making these. Does anyone know if the debuff you get when you stand in the mines is called the same as the ability, so Destructive Resonance, Destructive Resonance: Displacement, Destructive Resonance: Fortification, Destructive Resonance: Replication?
