What do you think of the last boss on normal? We got 6/7 normal then 2/7 HC, went back to normal and wiped for 3 hours so far, it seems to blow away the first 2 fights for difficulty/complexity of mechanics (but doesn't require as much raw damage/healing as butcher hc)
On our night of doing normal, we did 6/7, with about 4 wipes on last boss. It's clear he's a big step up compared to the previous ones. In comparison we had 2 wipes on Butcher HC, 3 on Brackenspore HC, and 2 on Tectus HC. I'm not sure on our tactics though, we were exploding the arcane trap things to allow for easier positioning.. but that obviously causes a lot of damage. We'll probably go straight for it on heroic, seeing as the tactics are the same. You take way too much damage just walking into every trap, we did that for a period of time but you have to alternate people with defensive cooldowns like anti magic shell that should be used for unavoidable damage instead Mhm, it's not the way i'd ideally do it either, but the raid leader(s) decided to try it that way for whatever reason. Add in that we were 1 healer short, it was panic time for us! :D Don't get why you'd choose to stand in like 20 traps of 70k damage each if they expire over time without doing damage IIRC and you're a healer short :D
They wanted to make us sweat.
We tried not exploding them for one try, but the positioning was a bit horrible. Does anyone have a placement for the traps they were using?
Yeah, we had 5 healers out of ~27 people

We just position them kinda to the side, melee dps behind boss and just never stand between the boss and a trap during a knockback.. and then never walk directly into them. Blowing up some awkward ones with stuff like anti magic shell occasionally
Highmaul
Player response to Highmaul so far has been positive. The team is happy with the current tuning for Highmaul. Highmaul Normal has been tuned around you having 5 man Heroic dungeon gear, where Highmaul Heroic was tuned around having Highmaul Normal gear; A natural progression.
615 lfr, 630 normal, 655 for entering HC - but the last boss of normal and the first boss of HC both feel extremely imbalanced, or at least specifically tuned easier (first boss) and harder (last boss)
In about 3 hours i'm finishing a mission for an armor upgrade (i had to put some of my high level followers on it to guarantee i wouldn't go 6+ hours without getting an armor/weapon upgrade in case it failed and my salvage continued being as nonexistant as last 1-2 days) and then i'l see what chance will be for my ~8 hour? long mission for the i645 boots with strength, stamina and almost 200 mastery. After that i'm going to try and set up some stuff with addons and try to get a few of the good BOE's
GM actually just said nobody killed this IN THE WORLD without raid average i645

Which boss..? We have a few people above 645 and one guy at 655.. rest are around 630-635. Are you sure hes a real GM? :p
That would really suprise me if true.

I meant guild master, i see how that can be confused in world of warcraft
I meant last boss normal, that was quoted from logs anyway AFAIK - if you logged a kill with raid of ~10-15 people of lower gear, can we see it?
fyi firebolt, last 2 bosses on auchindoun can actually be a huge pain in the ass - mostly when running with only 1 ranged DPS though, i assume. The add waves in the second to last boss can be annoying with the big imps needing to be interrupted (but it was almost trivial when i took two ranged DPS and one was a warlock to banish one of the big imps on every spawn..) and the little imps disorient your char, overall it's a joke fight on HC with 630 gear (kinda hard on 600) and actually hard for some comps on CM. The last boss on CM, if you have 2 ranged DPS it's easy, if you have only one ranged DPS it can be really really annoying - debated just killing the infernal in this case, because it just permanently fixates on the ranged - difficulty varies a lot depending on comp and experience i think is what this is supposed to say, because i never had any problem with the first boss of skyreach. Sometimes i've taken two groups, had one of them wipe 15 times on one boss and the other group oneshot it with similarly qualified people

Just finished tectus for 5/7 heroic, I win a pair of boots that a monk healer wants on a master loot roll (also a good item for druid resto) and get kicked after receiving my boots. Oh well 5/7 ftw!!!

We just downed margok last night, if you start on one side and move a little to the other every time traps placed down, with all the ranged stacked on a dime there's more then enough room. The most important thing is that when you kill the add in the second phase the melee face away from the traps so they don't get knocked into them.
There is no reason to get hit by a trap in normal/heroic.
Also, use lust on the third intermission, that bit is by far the hardest bit in the fight.

how was your gear and raid size, how long did you spend on it?

The second boss (and some of the trash...) is the hardest part imo. Lots of unavoidable damage on the first boss which a lot of healers cant handle. Odd.. I never had any trouble healing the first boss (even in my first run, with a tank in greens). I don't think I ever wiped on it. The second boss however... You healed a tank in greens in a CM? I call bullshit there. He wasnt in pure greens, but had at least 3-4. It was like the monday or tuesday after release... and he was busy the first couple days.
We wiped plenty on the second boss, but I've literally never wiped on the first one.

so ever since this salvage yard ""change"" (explicitly didnt use the word nerf cuz blizzard said it WASNT A NERF) i havent received a single follower armor/wep upgrade from all my missions thx blizzard0

we cleared heroic in about.. 6-7 hours. killed margok on 16th pull. tbh we could have done faster if we pruned some weaker people. avg ilvl 649.7
edit: there are things that make looking just at avg ilvl not very effective. some dps classes are much stronger than others on certain fights and in general. a guild that happens to have a good margok comp and the stronger classes in general will have a much easier time. also certain items are extremely strong, namely trinkets. the healer boe trinket is broken OP and blizz said they're not gonna nerf it. having slightly higher dps just enough to cross a threshold of seeing a certain mechanic one less time in a phase can be a huge deal. having slightly higher healing to have breathing room through certain mechanics can be a huge deal

We spent hours on it haha, wiped 4 times in a row on 0% Had 26 people in the raid, I'm pretty sure it gets easier as the raid gets larger, the adds that spawn seem to die way quicker.

Yea my rate fell through the floor. It's less than 20% of what it was - and i don't have three followers at 645 yet. Feels bad being really late to the garrison party and then having it shut down hard like that soon after arriving

Do you guys use ilvl upgrades on green/blue followers? So far I mostly updated my epic ones, since I'm not sure it's a good idea to boost guys that can get some shitty (or duplicate, geez, enough of danger zone counters already) traits potentially. That's why I've got like 10+ upgrade tokens sitting in my bags, while I get xp for those green/blue guys to see how they turn out to be.
Do you also notice ability imbalance between horde and alliance? On my horde guys I've got mostly counters to timed battle and danger zone, meanwhile my alliance character's followers mostly deal with magic debuff and group dmg.
I also find it funny that alliance barracks lvl 3 are bigger than whole horde garrison :D

Regarding the ilvl required for normal, I'd take that with a grain of salt. All of the really progression based guilds are going to be keeping that hidden. Frankly, the gear requirement for heroic butcher is higher than normal margok, though butchers 100 times easier.
Also, if you're a warlock, get a copelands asap, that trink is godlike

Yea i agree completely. Butcher needs more gear, but last boss on normal is clearly the harder fight. You die because stuff wasn't handled properly, not because the boss hit for 100k again in a completely predictable way and somebody had too low health

Pics? I've only seen the horde garrison

Judging Frost based on burst is really silly; outside of cooldowns we do fuck all (our main nuke hits for 6-7k) and we don't have an execute which means you can have 50k all you want on pull but in 30-40 seconds everyone catches back up. I'm not so sure it needs buffs that badly either (especially since it will push arcane and fire even further down), but appearently every other class in the game has at least one spec that can consistently outdps frost. Can confirm, frostmages are usually ahead of me (Spriest) at the start with CDs (because shadow doesn't really have any), but I catch up / go past them until the end of the fight

Killed H Margok in 16 wipes last night with 646 avg ilvl in the raid.

Nice Red! I hope we can finish heroic tonight, our 3rd raid night attempt!
Also Frost is "bad" sustained dps i'll give but you can still pump out 18k+ on movement intense fights with it so it isn't dog shit in need of a buff. With gear as well it will get better. Again judge damage now is kinda a bit silly? Maybe after 1st week of Mythic Blizzard should be addressing any more class balance changes?
