Or perhaps a better question, is there even a good REASON to start a profession from scratch. I have Engineering 600 on the next character I want to level, but I figured crafting gear would be good so I was going to start Blacksmithing from scratch. But the more I look into it, it seems like you can craft that stuff regardless with the related small building (Forge?). Re-rolling blacksmithing would just give me more of the daily materials rather than only waiting on work orders. Significant enough difference to be worth it? It seems like using work orders alone to get the mats for any profession gear/crafts would take forever.

For example my 601 Enchanter makes a full Temportal crystal while a 1 Enchanter will make like 0.4. Since these cooldowns (and work orders) are the main limit to your ability to craft it indirectly gives you items faster with higher skill.

Using Leatherworking as an example, you'll get more Burnished Leather using your Daily CD at a higher LW level. No idea on any other benefits though. Edit: Sorry, you said this.. should probably read the whole post before replying. I hope they'll add in 700 only recipes after, although all current recipes seem very expensive material wise.

Certainly not minor I suppose, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything. So then a follow-up question, how quickly do you figure one can level a profession from scratch with the way that the WoD recipes work? Probably more efficient now for people above level 90? Or would it still be worth boosting them the old-fashioned way to get that 600+ for better daily cooldowns? I always hate asking too many questions, but the online resources about the new content are still a bit fresh and difficult to weed through at times... I could just ~science~ this and say fuck it and switch from Engi to BS to find out for myself. Probably a better learning experience for future alts and such lol.

Your basic recipes cost an entire day worth of cooldowns and another 25 iron ore and 25 blackrock ore. level 100 items cost 100 bars. On the other hand Enchanting basic stuff costs 1 rare material, which is not behind a cd. I would level professions the old fashioned way if you want the extra materials.

It really is annoying though :/

After considering it more, I'm actually wondering if I should drop Mining for Blacksmithing and do Engi/BS without a gathering profession. I wonder if the daily stuff in the garrison mines (eventually lvl3) could maintain daily cooldowns and work orders for both without having the gathering profession...

![]() Got a question about lumber mill. Is it really worth it? All it does is generate 120 resources per day at level 2, which doesn't seem like much. I'm already at 250 timber in my bags, 14/14 work orders running. Seems like trading post/tavern/barn is way more useful, even at lower levels.

Me and my friends tried to do the event yesterday, but turns out if you clear the dungeon ahead he becomes unavailable ![]() Yea, the whole point of the event is having to blitz a huge fraction of the instance. It's really hard and if you leave anything alive he'll just die because he has 17k HP and likes to taunt stuff

You need 2k for the castle and every bit helps.
