And to draw attention away from me. There are some pretty good global spells. And Caelum has like twice our research. But there's no way he can, like, simultaneously cast like four globals and seal his victory, is there? Like if he did try something everyone else could crush him still?

First, look at the good globals. Mother Oak/Gift of Health is out of path for me and still takes a fk-ton of magic, gems, and research that I don't have. Burden of Time is the next "early" global, and absolutely fking bonkers, but again look at the paths. The most likely things for me to cast, Wrath of God, Gale Gate, and Maelstrom are all far higher up in research than I have if all I did was research one school and will for some time, or pretty much useless in the case of Wrath of God besides pissing your neighbors off. What else am I going to play as a global that could remotely win me a game? The best globals are generally the gem gens which are long-term investments and hardly game-winning by themselves, Mother Oak/Gift of Health, Forge of the Ancients (though I can't leverage the items I forge, really). Unless you're Ermor/Lemuria and can afford to cast game-ruining shit like Utterdark/BoT. I think you're seriously overestimating the research I have, and the value of globals. They're nice, but hardly game-winning in and of themselves if they can't be leveraged as part of a larger strategy, like summoning Elemental Royalty with the gems, forging enough equipment for thugs, etc.etc.

And people have not been talking much lately. And I am totally blind beyond my own borders. How's Ulm doing? I see Agartha has managed to take some of their land back, does that mean Ulm failed to kill them or had a change of plans? His army is number 1 right now. I don't know how cost-effective it is though. Ooh, Jotunheim and Caelum had pretty big armies dancing beside my border for a while, and now I see they had a significant dip in army size last turn. Who won!

As for me, I will gladly meet Agartha in open battle if he wishes, but I won't be foolish enough to send my men down into the darkness of their wretched caves. Our long pikes are unless if we cannot see the enemies we want to poke. ![]() So to Agartha, if you want a fight, I'll be waiting at the throne this turn, we can be the first to spill some blood in this game. and I just want to say, this game has been fun, but Vanheim is pretty close to winning. There's a throne beside the Atlantis capitol in the water. (Old Flood 43) I have zero water entering capabilities, and AI Atlantis obviously can't do much, so if Vanheim gets some tech to get an army in water, he wins the game.

He's not guaranteed to win next turn if it isn't a lvl 2 throne. close but not inevitable if someone peels off.

I was just about to finish building a fort at a bottleneck province and I had been protecting the fort builder with an army and a heavy PD. Then when the fort was supposed to be ready, there came an event where a vampire count attacks the province with a bunch of vampires and other creatures. They won and my fort building efforts were wasted. Did you have misfortune in the province? What were the scales? The random events are random. Back in Dom3 there was an event that killed 90% of your province pop and turned them into vinemen (I believe it was a Growth-3 event). In the first few versions it could happen in the first year at your capital. If it happened Turn 2 you basically lost, until they restricted it for after year 2 I believe.
