Idk what he could be researching at this point, is it Fog Warriors? Would be pretty scary to fight against an army that is full mistform mode, meh. The air evocations don't seem too impressive after Thunderstrike, Enchanment doesn't do anything for air and neither does Thaumaturgy. Somewhat of a silly question, does Ethereal work against trample? | ||

Also, wow 97 barbs is a lot of barbs. I was pretty lucky so far with my events, haven't lost a single province despite misfortune 2 | ||

In the other game I'm playing, I have luck-1, yet I had Bogus and his adventures take a bridge province cutting off 3 other of my provinces. Not to mention scores of vine men and vine ogres repeatedly taking over the only forest province I had as EA Pangaea. | ||

How do you like my skrattir? :3 DAWWW look at the cute puppiessssssss~ Much like going Drain-3 is a bad idea because it unlocks the "magic is fading" event which eats up shittons of your gems, Misfortune-3 is similarly a horrible, horrible idea. Also unlocks previously locked events. I personally hate taking Misfortune; Turmoil-Luck builds are just too much fun when you randomly get 2000 gold treasures, and maybe get artifacts or major items like Banner of the Northern Star on turn 12 as Arco or something. :v I've gotten a Staff of Storms in my first Dom4 MP game with Caelum (running a silly T/L build) on turn ~16. Was really useful in shaving off a level-5 research level against an odd Eriu rush build (long story short, he built up a gigantic early lead but because no bless for Sidhe Lords and was highly dependent on Fir Bolg, all his armies and raiding parties were crushed to death by lightning bolts and seeking arrows). I've still probably lost the game more or less as other nations are simply in a stronger position (Sceleria and Abysia and R'lyeh as prime culprits) and I was stuck with only my capital for recruitment for pretty much the first 40-50 turns, but killing ~4000 gold worth of troops and commanders with minimal losses was a fun challenge. Also: final update, but there APPEARS to be some level 5-6 sites in the code, at least according to the dom4 inspector. Only 11 out of the hundreds, and I suspect some/most/all of them are scripted and tied to events (like Halls of the Mountain King-Ruined Halls of the Mountain King). The only one of note is a 10% heal site. In any event, the most powerful ones are still levels 4 and below. The Astral site, The Ultimate Gateway, provides a 40% (!!!) discount for Conjuration (!!!) Rituals, and is only a level 3 site for instance. | ||

I'm going to look at interest first before selecting maps and such, but this time we're probably playing with the EA (I would probably stay away from LA unless we get people specifically requesting it, since the magic in the LA requires quite some skill to leverage properly, aka massive blood economies and communions [though no reverse communions do make these and sabbaths much less daunting to script]). | ||
