And Dota style games got so popular because they got rid of the multi tasking aspect a rts had, while still providing the feeling of a rts. Okay Dotas biggest player games comes out of the rpg region, but rts players also enjoyed that sort of game. I would say if this game gets popular, they have a good chance of getting players that usually stay away from rts multiplayer. But the get popular is the hard part ^^;

In SC I used to play mainly 1v1, sometimes 2v2. 3v3 and 4v4 I never took seriously neither random team or arranged team. I know its not supposed to be born4EZ-sports but I'm just wondering how competitive/popular it can be. Looks like a shot in the foot before the beginning of the race to my eyes. Meh, depends on how the game is played. If its centered around everyone working together and people having different roles (like dota) then it could be a breath of fresh air. Hell, I just want to know what the game looks like.
