http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/features/characters Confirmed Bobba Fett is the other "iconic character" that will be on release, then it ends with; Heroes and Villains These are just some of the Heroes and Villains you can expect to encounter in Star Wars Battlefront. We will be revealing more in the months ahead, as well as introducing a cast of memorable Star Wars characters you will interact with in Star Wars Battlefront.

Honestly, I would consider myself satisfied with battlefield + SW skin since I played the shit out of the former and I love the latter... that's effectively what this is. I've not played a ton yet so I can't quite comment on mechanics, but visually it looks great. The feel as far as shooting, combat, etc is all very good. The ambiance and game play make you feel like you're on Hoth. Very cool. I've seen some people complaining that the Rebels get curbstomped on Hoth, which might be slighty true. However, it's also day 2 of beta, on a map that is probably not very forgiving for new Rebel players due to the fuck off AT-ATs. That kind of stuff is hard to tell until you play with people with a lot more experience. Most people I played with were just running around like morons. I am still trying to get the weapons system and cards or whatever. Apprently you can spam thermal grenades quite frequently, which I was surprised about. I have a feeling that's going to be a week 1 patch. Honstly what it will come down to for replayability is the game modes. I probably won't touch anything other than the 40v40 mode. I don't even care for that knock off COD mode at all. If they have several 40v40 maps I'll be happy. If they go the route where they try to please both crowds and end up half assing both then ehhhhhhh.

I was under the impression that max amount of players was 40 not 80? I haven't had time to try beta but was this really changed or did you just confuse maps supporting 40 players as 40vs40 instead of 20vs20? Like every single article says the game only supports up to 40 players.

honestly, 20v20 is ok. I'd much prefer that sense of full scale invasion you'd get at 64v64, but it's not as if hoth is a bunch of isolated engagements. I also think that's a funciton of the map design there. 20v20 on a classic bf control point map might feel different.

Although I like big fights, 64x64 can get really random.

I guess instaspawn depends on the map moreso, but honestly you can find good cover near a choke point and spam grenades all damn day. I am sure balancing is going to happen with the equipment. The instant respawn times might be a product of them stress testing, but it also keeps the matches filled with action. Maybe they nerf spawning on squads a bit, but keep the respawn time up.

It was fun for 30minutes but after that it became boring pretty quickly. The shooting is not exactly my thing either and the netcode felt very lousy. Then again this is only the beta with very limited diversity.

It has great graphics and sound It has super generic and boring gameplay so far :/ +1 Would be an awesome basic game (sounds+Looks, so far performance) to mod and make community content for..........IF IT WAS NOT EA, and 5 min of fun comes in healthy 15$ DLCs.

I guess what I am saying is while it's something to think about, I guess I can't worry too much without seeing the full game?

Besides sc1, sc2, d1, d2 and WC3, Outcast is the one other game that I literally spent years playing online. However, I was more into duels with somewhat limited force powers when I played. Yeah. I just hope someone at LucasArts realizes it would be awesome to make an updated version of. A MMO with JK fighting styles would be awesome. Expand it a little to have multiple classes, and boom, you're good. Add mandalorians in the expansion and you have a franchise. + Show Spoiler + I actually have a relatively detailed concept for this. Plan. Maybe blog it one day. Here's the basic idea: Classes: -SHII-CHO: Starter class, basic abilities. Not used after early levels except in special circumstances (Jar'Kai/Juyo loses a blade). Guardian: Athletic/Physical focus -MAKASHI: Duelist/fencer class. One-handed grip. Weaker defense, but good high mobility. (ex. Dooku) -JUYO: Double bladed style. Good mobility, strong defense; limited range, performs physical attacks at very close range to knockback. (ex. Maul, Kun) Sentinel: Saber/Stealth focus -DJEM SO: Two handed, slow but powerful blows. Often specs into stealth or dash abilities to actually get in range. (ex. Luke, Vader) -JAR'KAI: Two sabers. Very fast attack speed, weaker force capabilities, cannot grab walls/ledges. (ex. Starkiller 2, that chick in clone wars) Consular: Force focus -SORESU: Defensive class. Force powers buff self or allies. Uses strong defense to allow lots of force powers. (ex. Obi-Wan) -NIMAN: Force specialist. One-handed, reversed grip. Sometimes forgoes saber altogether. Offensive and healing force powers. Uses mobility to evade saber attacks. Powerful finishers to eliminate stunned foes. (ex. Starkiller 1, Palpatine)

On day 1 the imperial forces won every single game but yesterday I was able to win twice as a rebel. When playing for the Empire those anti-infantery laserturrets are overpowered as fuck. I had multiple round with 40+ kills and 5-6 deaths. Maybe people need to use personal shields or jetpack more and it will be fine but right now its a slaughterhouse.
