Second game he got rid of it immediately but it was too late, I just ran archives and before I knew it I had 12 agenda pts. Also future proof out now on Amazon. :D (edit: damn they don't ship to australia anymore)

If the runer runs aggressively using the starter decks than the runner has a good advantage due to the fact there aren't that many ETR ice in the starters. If you guys build your own decks, then only using the core set the corporation is pretty strong(at least compared to the current state of things). The runner gets better in later expansions when you add things like Personal Workshop, Emergency Shutdown, etc. Yes Magnum Opus + Crypsis is pretty strong, and with Jinteki you can either trick your opponent in to traps or try to aggressively advance agendas when they think they are traps. All the starter decks run infiltration so this isn't the easiest thing in the world. The other corporation factions in the core are better because of their ice.

Yeah, there were some definite trap opportunities that I missed (too much defense on top of Junebug, various snares, etc). What is ETR?

Unfortunately, you played with jinteki- the most technical pressure faction- vs shaper- the most forgiving snowball faction. it's like bronze level PvZ. If you don't know when to time your push, hit your forcefields and stop the growth, you get run over 90% of the time. I'd recommend playing HB or Weyland vs shaper to begin with, they scale a bit more evenly against each other. Weyland if you liked the aggressive aspects of jinteki, HB if you enjoyed the build optimisation/mindgames part

It seems like the Shaper just grew stronger and stronger and eventually just blew through everything Jinteki could put up using a Magnum Opus fueled Crypsis. How am I supposed to deal with that? Especially at the beginner levels runner generally has a higher winrate than corp. The better you get that margin decreases significantly, there are many competitive players that prefer to play corp over runner. You also picked Jinteki which is one of the more difficult factions to play, and when you don't do it right it feels like your ice are worthless once the runner has his breakers. As for your actual question, the easiest way to deal with Crypsis is to build towers in front of your most vital servers. Crypsis needs virus tokens to get through ice, the maximum amount of virus tokens a runner can put on per turn is 4. This will ensure that the runner can only run once a turn or even never (if you wipe those counters). Wiping virus counters will ensure that the runner will never be able to get through your ice while you just build economy from assets which don't require clicks. Once corp has a lot of money over the runner the corp becomes in control of the game and the runner will find it difficult to play effectively. Corp can just keep install more ice until it is impossible for the crypsis only runner to reach your agendas which you can just safely advance. Once you are 2 points from victory and the runner has painstakingly built up enough resources to run, throw down a junebug and watch him cry when he hits it.

http://84.205.248.92/slaghund/slagview.aspx I thought it was really interesting about the commentators saying how if you are good at the game and therefore know how to manage your econ you should use "stronger together". Ironically "stronger together" has by far the worst winrate with 32% while "engineering the future" has by far the highest with 52%. Amazing how extra 1 credit per turn makes a huge difference. Also the new NBN identity is statistically a lot stronger than the old which is surprising, but I don't know if that's because the new cards are making NBN stronger overall, causing the statistics to skew a bit. Andro by far the strongest, with Gabe trailing behind second this is no surprise with HB being so strong, and Crim being good against HB. Shaper by far the weakest, with CT only slightly better than Kate, no surprise given the FA meta though. This may completely change in weeks to come.
