Operation Eject Turks from Africa was a success: Any thoughts on what to do in the last 30 years? With France and Russia as my allies there isn't much that can stop us. I looked at the ledger and Portugal has something ridiculous like 250 000 gold in the bank. The fighting spirit award goes to the Timurids, they lost Persia and Afghanistan to rebels 200 years about but they're still hanging in, and even reclaimed all their cores from Afghanistan. What's the deal with protectorates not using a call to arms? Air keeps getting stomped by its neighbours but never asks me for help.

Has something like this happened to anyone else? I would guess since they are besieging Haixi and actually *are* from Haixi they should be friendly to them - so not sieging - but hostile to you. Friendly rebels can sometimes although it did only happen to me once before.

Has something like this happened to anyone else? Yes, both with and without the beta patch(es). My favorite part of the bug is that they leave a "Recently Looted" debuff on the province they're hanging out in too. I had to get a vassal or ally of a diferent culture group to attach to my army and drag them onto my rebel stack to get rid of it, which of course requires a war of some sort. I was most afraid the AIs couldn't handle this bug, but fortunately they do tend to clear out each others' rebels once a war breaks out. It's unsightly and annoying though.

Will definately post pictures later, but I managed to swipe pommerania as a vassal after they took some land, and got a few extra provinces in the progress. The coalition that formed to stop my expansion got crushed by the combined forces of Austria, Poland and me, and I managed to humiliate my rival Hansa for sweet early power projection. Then despite massive AE, I somehow got elected emperor due to Austria making a mess of their position and then I managed to get the Bohemian succesion... So now it is not even 1500, and I'm the biggest nation in the HRE, with good tech and the usual advantages of being Brandenburg ramping up quickly. Question is, how much should I milk the HRE situation, and how much should I concentrate on taking land in the east now.

http://imgur.com/2Lk0AMd edit: It seems only my aztec game is scewed. I'll have to load an earlier save or just be done with it since I am 1790 anyways. But still kinda interested what causes it

Iceland is mine, just vassalized Norway. I don't know where to go from here because France, GB, Castile and Sweden have all rivaled me. Quito and the red to the left of me are vassals. Also I annexed a vassal in South America and formed a colonial nation >.< War of the Protestant League is ongoing, but GB haven't committed anything so they're not weak. I'm not specifically going for Sunset but I'm keeping it in mind. I'm tied for top military tech so I could actually fight some Europeans, just not all of them at once...

I only thought that staying alive was most the important thing at first so I didnt want to piss the europeans off and just colonialized the carribean in order to westernize asap and after that I only spread into north america. In hindsight of course I should have prioritized on the the coast for colonialization. As a result of my failure a lot of european colonial nations formed and I spent almost the entire rest of the game on removing them bit by bit which also cost me alot of admin power to core everything. Luckily I managed to ally france but it was still kinda tricky because they wouldnt join me when I declared on the colonial nations directly (too far away). Towards the end I still managed to invade Spain. Of course you can achieve much more but I am still quite satisfied with my end result. By the way what is the most effective way to colonialize? I realized that the colony also grows when you remove the colonist but not as fast I guess? When is the best time to remove the colonist and start a new colony? Also is it ever worth to take the expansion ideas over the exploration ones? When playing as Muscovy/Russia?

(not to mention dat juicy persia) honestly i dont see any way you can loose if u play huge nations like castille. just ally austria and sandwich those cheese-eating bitches ^_^ It doesn't matter how big they were when you vassalized, cost is based on their current size (10*base tax). Speed is based on Diplomatic Reputation - it's like missionaries where a few modifiers are the difference between 1000 month conversion and 12 months. Annexing without Diplo/Influence ideas or a Reputation advisor should be avoided. Also the diplo-annex cost is doubled by Berber traditions. I'm not sure whether provinces added to vassal after annexing begins are counted or not.
