Timurids have some nasty event chains, terrible idea set (especially garbage compared to the excellent horde set or god-tier Kazan/Manchu sets), terrible rulers at the only point where ruler quality matters, and terrible terrain for horde play

The one horde where forming Mughals is not a bad decision.

Also, I've only played two games so far, both on ironman mode. First was as England and I made it to the 18th century with huge colonies but they all rebelled and I fractured to pieces and quit in frustration. the concept is to drop autonomy, core the province, force a revolt, intentionally lose to rebels then reconquer them later.

you end up reconquesting crap with 25% autonomy and zero separatism (you can immediately drop autonomy again too)

I guess historically yes.

so far ive had luck by immediatly raising autonomy in every province which butchers your income, but then vassalizing countries and kind of riding them to victory.

only need 1 province for mughal formation though.

Before Cossacks expansion it was pretty legit to do it with any horde right? Mughals idea set was pretty damn good as well last time I checked.

they have as much tolerance as the ottomans i think.
plus i believe muslim tech with indian units which is legit, the main thing that kills the timurids imo is the terrain, its pure retarded everything is mountains. half my game has been guessing where rebel stacks will pop up so i can get the terrain advantage over them

managed to form around 1480, raised autonomy in every province and just blitzed india. since you dont get persian events as the mughals i think thats better imo.

also better than releasing persia and having it shit on you. figured id conquer hordes till i catch up in tech since indian tech was cheaper long enough to make fights real difficult -_-

Should I worry about high inflation? I'm pretty much done with colonizing as Portugal at somewhere around the 1600s. I have two gold mines, Mexico and Peru, and a bunch of loans still from running higher level advisors as soon as I could. My inflation is around 50%. I have the major colonial trade nodes controlled, so during peace, my economy is functional with the lump sums the gold mines provide.

Don't know if saves are transferable but here's my ironman save:

119 income, 77 expenses, this is with army maintenance at a minimum and forts emptied. Year is 1637, I have the Caribbeans, Mexico, African nodes, and Southeast Asian nodes controlled. Just finished a war with Aragon and got Veneza out of it, made them release Catalonia. I have most of what was Castille, they no longer exist.

Wow, that will hurt you a lot. Once you're above 5% inflation you start getting bad events and I think the really really bad ones start at 10 or 15%. I guess it's too late to get rid of 50% inflation^^ Usually it's best to stay under 5% or at least under 10% to avoid the super horrible events.

Yea it sucks but I'd have to wait a long time to use admin points to decrease it. I have a 6/4/3 ruler so thinking of just staying put for the next 50 years or however long to use all my admin points.

you shouldnt have took that many loans i dont think.
ive never not managed not rushing lvl 3 advisors, i dont like taking out loans period, unless its 1-2 at max to get through a hard time.

making progress, high development on indian territories makes it hard to take more than 4-5 at a time
just finished a war with the kebabs, gonna make my goal to take Constantinople before the end of the game should be quite easy.
actually have high enough tolerance im not getting rebels from ottoman territory which is good i think.

slowed down by about 10 years of westernizing, but it isnt a huge deal

so far ive gathered the best start for wallachia is restart till diplo advisor, ally poland stock up monarch points and no cb and vassal serbia
after that idk, i dont know if hoping hungary doesnt take a von habsburg is reliable enough, cause even poland + like bohemia + you/vassal cant hope to beat austro-hungary

now the ottomans warn me every game, how many allies do you need to beat the kebabs? -_-

Why would you ever stock up monarch points to reset stability after a no CB war when you could manufacture a claim? This is real question from noob.

Also is it worth always keeping your stability at 3?

Wallachia can't fabricate a claim on Serbia, there are Hungary and Ottomans in the way.

Spending the extra admin to increase stability to 3 is wasteful. At the start of the game I usually stay at 0 stab to save admin and hope for an event to get me +1 and later on I only go to +1 by spending admin. Catholic nations who convert a lot of land can easily stay at +3 stab all the time because of papal influence. If you're playing a republic it can be worth it to increase stability to +3 with adm points while close to 100 tradition, because it's significantly more expensive at low tradition to even increase to +1; you won't want to buy stab for a while when you start re-electing leaders.
