Guan Yu so stupidly broken.
Having reached level 11. This game is fun, but lacks subtle points that Ogww has mentioned. I kinda wish you weren't forced to stay on the paths, I kinda wish you could use treelines to gank from like in DotA2 etc. A tad more freedom if you will.
Still a fun game though.

Indeed, Guan Yu's heal makes him incredibly hard to take out. combined with the slow on abilities item, he is pretty impossible to escape...and does a ton of magic damage.
Magic damage has a advantage of being able to stack way higher and faster than physical damage, highest physical attack item is 50...highest magical is 125, average physical attack on items is 30, average magical attack increase on items is 70.
With the number 2 skill dashing and slow, number 3 doing a ton of magical damage, guan yu is really really OP.
Did i mention the heal? the heal also reduces cooldown on the other skills per friendly hero healed by 2sec. in my opinion, the heal is what makes him so incredibly strong.

Copypasting also my other post to hirezstudios forums. Share your thoughts and also if there's a game which fits more to what I'm looking for(more FPS-like, movement and aiming important, more actionpacked) please tell me.
Well, this is beta isn't it? Post your feedback and give them your suggestions that you believe will make the game better not only for you, but for hi-rez as well. Well, the problem here is that I think there's no way Hi-Rez could change game enough anymore to fix the issue. Only way I could imagine 3rd/1st person camera MOBA work is to make it more FPS-like via emphasizing movement and aiming and also making it more actionpacked, not making same thing which been made little different ways many times before. Making towers and minions die instantly when you just look at them isn't the way to make games more "faster and actionpacked" for me.
I'll stay around and of course I hope Hi-Rez can make this game nice to play and watch. I just don't think it's likely according to what I've seen so far.

A lot of my gaming friends actually prefer to watch me play smite vs LoL... could just be because its fresh.. but its most likely the view. Sorry you hate it so much Ogww, I know a lot of people who prefer it (I am one of them).
Can't expect everyone to like every aspect of the games... LoL for example, I know so many people who just absolutely hate it and could write a litany of things wrong with it. So the fact you hate on Smite is fine... theres many more that enjoy it.
Hopefully a lot of the little issues will be flushed out in the beta. Guan Yu OP as hell atm lol.
edit: I do appreciate anyone trying to help Hi-Rez though... don't take me wrong

6 sec cd on Guan Yu heal and charge. Good balance :D

Smite has no competitive future per se but it's quite dynamic and right now quite fun. Of course it's nowhere as good as Savage was but it's still okay.
I wonder what HoN would have been if it were a 3rd person MOBA. :/
|
Saying it has no competitive future is quite a bold statement. I remember when I was in the LoL beta and everyone laughed and just continued to play Dota. Smite is great fun to watch for people who played mmo's and come over to mobas. Most people I knew with little MOBA experience laughed at watching those others, they consider the WC3 view ancient from 15 years ago. Balancing aside I think smite has the potential for a very bright competitive future.

Forester in game, rank 8 or so, anyone who wants to play some games feel free to friend me.
Been playing Odin and Ymir mostly in the jungle. Its actually been working pretty well if I can get an early kill or two because then I can snowball like a madman. Physical damage in this game seems really weak and hard to get, I need to start Reinforced Boots for the Regen in the jungle, and then I normally go Devourer's Gloves or a tanky item, neither of which give much AD at all so Odin hits like a sissy until lategame. I think a 10 PD increase across the board (more on certain large items) would be great for seeing Gods like Odin and Kali being useful for things other than tanking lategame. Though we might have to scale back some PD ratios on certain skills. At least Ymir can build MP early and be strong...
I don't want to say Quan Yu is OP, but he can do some really nuts things. Was on a team with Quan right lane, overextended and was 1/4 hp getting chased back to tower by kong, vamana, and i think art. I leap over the trees onto kong and vamana and pop Odin's ult trapping all of us inside. I slow them with my 3, Quan still low HP, he kites around ring until heal brings him up to like 1/2 and them uses that really quick stabby skill and instagibs kong and vam. We then turn and roflstomp Art ezpz. Like, any other champ should have been dead long before that, we got a 3-0 kill on all their carries and yet it just felt wrong how it happened...
Overall I think its a pretty cool game. I'd love to see some new maps which are more open and have different height levels for some cool ganks and stuff though.
Also, Qin's Blades are OP as phoque. Who the HELL said "oh let's take LoL's Madreds and buff it up to 10% max HP damage and give it 30% proc chance, that'll be balanced since it also gives AS and tankieness" Like seriously WTF?

Cool game. It has what I want from Blizzard Dota/All-Stars, which consists of just jumping in for some Dota-inspired gameplay and having fun. Less focus about farming and babysitting carries and more focus on killing enemy heroes. Games can snowball pretty hard though, similar to League of Legends snowballs. Not as much early>mid>late game dynamic. I guess that's the cost of designing the game around everyone sharing last hit gold.

actually, last hitting gives you more gold than just standing there. its still worth it to last hit.

Yeah, it's about a 50% bonus IIRC

Is there any way of switching regions? I'm stuck on NA.

Only NA but there seems to be virtually no lag
Hades 1 4 3 gg

If someone have a spare key I'd be happy to receive it! :D
edit : nvm, got one.

IF anyone has a beta key I believe I have an extra dota 2 key I could trade, thanks.
edit: got one.

Hades 1 4 3 gg Hades has so many counters. He's pretty much considered the worst hero atm.
- 500g item Purifying beads counters him. - If you have enough movement speed you can run out of his ulti. - Any hero that can charge or jump can just jump out of the ult.
Without his ulti, Hades is 100% worthless and can do very little damage. Even when you build him 100% mage, his scaling just sucks.

but he looks the coolest
Yeah I've met some of these problems, didn't think he was that terribad though. I usually stompface with him with the least deaths to boot but I'm always aware that it may be down to poorer opposition than me being uberfuckingleet.
A good ulti with a team to burst into it is pretty uber though. He seems a pretty good chaser with the cd buff and usually I have the "abilities slow by 35%" (Void Stone?) just constantly warping and booming, but when his abilities are down there's really not much he can do :[.
Might try Hel in my next games. Is there like a first draft tier list or should I scrounge around the official forums and sift through whines to get such a list?

CC casters like Agni and He Bo are the best. Guan Yu is annoying and OP in term of damage output (he shouldn't do magical but physical damage) and Hel has tremendous capacities. Aside from that AoE casters like Ra and Zeus can hold their own if you have good reflexes.
Melee carries with movement abilities (WuKong, Bastet, Kali) can still pwn if you can manage to jungle in the mid/late game even if totally shut down during the early. Artemis is not a good choice since she doesn't have the same mobility.
Edit : And whatever you do, don't pick Vamana, he is useless.

This is the most surprising thing I've read in this thread so far. Vamana is INSANELY good from what we experienced in 5-man premade so far. One of our team is a huge Vamana fan and has such a big influence on every game we play with him. He can splitpush like crazy (has an escape, a skill that clears waves like nothing, and is tanky as hell), he can just ult and tank anything long enough for the rest of the team to kill it (towers, phoenix, minotaur) pretty early on. His ultimate also makes his presence really strong in a teamfight, and the only good thing you can do is to try and ignore it while he's doing it. I think he's one of the best utility Gods in the game right now, when used correctly.
