Hai guys, I think this is my first thread ever.
I have been watching recent progress of this game and I think it looks cool and is quite original. Haven't seen a game like this and being a nerd that I am am considering buying it. (It's 4 dollars now anyway, so quite cheap.) AFAIK it is a single guy developing it.
Basically it's a tycoon game where you develop your own linux distribution, assigning workers to development/bugfixing/etc, just recently announced adding online play, and android/iOS support.

Oh my god... that looks fucking awesome! I have always loved the tycoon games (especially Zoo Tycoon, goddamn was I good at that game :D), and a linux tycoon seems pretty freaking amazing. I will be sure to check it out. Is there any sort of educational value to it? Like in Zoo Tycoon I remember you could click on a little info icon and learn about the animals that you were caring for [read: torturing ]. I've always aspired to be a programmer of sorts, and this seems like it could be incredibly helpful if it was educational.

To be honest I don't know. This is an indie game done by one guy, and it's still in beta. He's adding features though, fixing stuff, based also on community feedback. You probably can learn some things regarding terminology and some understanding how actually a distribution is made (e.g. how it has to be tested and how easily a bugs can appear, how they have to keep the size of distro low, etc.) I will probably buy it today, then I can give more feedback. At work atm.
I don't think you can really compare it to Zoo Tycoon that had graphics etc
