I think the fight took me 20 minutes or something, because he kept walking around with his "head" up high so I couldn't hurt him, but I killed him on first try. you dont need to hit his head... just whack at his tail or body.

gaping dragon difficulty depends a lot on how often he jumps. If he does it rarely it's ezpz but if he just jumps you all the time it get pretty nasty

Unfrtunately he went into mad mode and started to fight with me ![]() Well, depends on the point of view. Easiest thing for a new player is just to start over, since you have made less than 15 minutes of progress. Killing the dude is possible but will take more skill than new players most likely have at that point. Also you can try to run pass him and later in the game pay for your sins to the priest and all NPCs will be friendly again. However he is completely useless anyways(only delivers some lore), so I always kill him for fun later at some point. TIP for everyone: DO NOT attack anything that DOESN`T ATTACK you first. It is most likely a friendly creature and you dont want to piss them off if you dont know what you are doing.

He doesn't do anything at all, except give you minor hints, and then he dissapears anyway pretty quick into the game. With the other npcs, at least buy all their stuff first. Some of them even drop unique items if you kill them though.

It's been a couple of hours now, but when I made the same mistake I just blocked and riposted all the time, I think. It feels like I've played this game for ages now, but Steam says it's only been 11 hours. I guess this feeling comes from the emotional investment... I'm really tense basically the entire time when I'm playing. And the relieve when finding a new bonfire is just huge. I also noticed that it's very easy to get lost in the world. I went to the bottom of Blighttown, into the Valley of Drakes (by the way, that dragon on the cliff in the background... is he sleeping or dead? There are items near his hand, but I'm too scared to try :D), went into the New Londo ruins and then at some point I thought mhm... maybe I'm wrong here? So I looked up a guide and it says I have to go back to the swamp.

I'm trying to get a controller with the same layout as the xbox one to work but my game crashes during the loading whenever I have it plugged in. x360ce is giving me the same error. T_T Mouse+KB is incredibly awkward because the game doesn't realize I have a second monitor so I get kicked to desktop whenever my mouse moves over there. =S

So I looked up a guide and it says I have to go back to the swamp. He's just sleeping and wakes up when you take the items, but he's really easy to beat, easiest miniboss in the game. His attacks only go in front of him and not to the side (he vomits on the ground), so if you have any range weapons or can time your attacks decently he should be no problem at all. I think the items by him are kinda cool, nice looking shield and a holy sword, by endgame other weapons are more useful, but I still like them, as personal preference.
