Hire some people with experience in the area and make sure it's a worthy port. I'm getting tired of devs releasing half-assed PC versions just to make some extra money. It's a pity they don't realise how much it would help their sales, if they actually put in the time, money, and effort to make it as good as it can be. I think I'll wait for some feedback before even considering getting it. Darksouls is the first PC game/port FromSoft has ever done. The only reason why the did it was for the fans, not for any ulterior motives. The fact of the matter is a smaller company like FromSoft has no reason to port to a PC because they will likely not see a huge return on their investment into PC. The reason why it is 1:1 is because FromSoft is a company that wants to make great games, and it shows in how they approach their design and such. If they had experience in PC developing, I'm sure they would try and make a good PC port, but they don't. People giving FromSoft flak for a "bad port" when they stated long ago that it would be a direct port due to the short amount of time, and lack of experience are just dumb. You need to look at FromSoft's recent history to see if they are really a company that is just in it for the money. The type of games they produce are very niche for the most part. Tenchu, Armored Core, Kingsfield, Dark Souls, Demons Souls, etc. are very niche games for the most part (except the more recent Tenchu games of course). Sometimes their games don't pan out well. It happens. But you can tell from the company's long lineage of making unique games, that they usually don't settle for making shitty games for the most part. They never purposely try and push out something that is garbage or bad. Sometimes the ideas don't work out, execution is bad, or maybe they didn't have enough funding (which was the case for a few of the Armored Core games).

I've never used a controller on my pc before. Should work without any problems. Though it's the D-Pad that's used for navigating the menu. Was there any software for the controller?

The game isn't laggy, can't notice only 30 FPS and the graphics look fine. The port was fine and the game is great and feels great I am having a blast atm! ![]()

Lack of time? They decided to do a PC port, they could have set a proper deadline for themselves. And/or just outsource the thing to people who know what they're doing. There's really no excuse for getting the fundamentals wrong like this.

HERE The comparison shots are amazing. It doesn't unlock the FPS (yet) but there is hope that with more work it could eventually do that. Also the HUD elements are not currently upres'd. I know that in order to get it to work you must turn off in game AA, but other wise have at it! It REALLY REALLY improves the look. As usual the PC modding community is NEVER to be underestimated.

Bolded isn't really an issue because you can just set the internal resolution high and supersample, and because the max FPS is 30 on most rigs you won't be sacrificing any frames.
