And now how many idiots allready popped up and whined here about issues which were known for several weeks now. You guys should get your sticks out of your asses and face the fact that you failed as a consumer if you whine now about problems the game has which were known before you bought it.

OH I misunderstood I am very sorry, 1) That's part of what makes it great! So easy to lose everything you have! ![]() 2 and 3) I use an xbox controller also and I am not having that problem. My friend was having a problem where he would start walking randomly and unplugged/replugged in his controller and it has been working perfectly since. Also for the boss there, you go to the right when you go in and climb the ladder than kill the 2 skeleton archers before you start the fight. If you want to do it the easy way on the boss fight just kite the boss to the ladder, climb up drop attack him than run back to the middle past him as he chases you and does a leap attack after you, run past him climb the ladder and drop attack again.

Is it something game breaking, i.e. will I not be able to read important stuff? It's nothing gamebreaking. As far as I can tell it's just the messages on ground that in the early game tell you how to play (like press whatever to attack) or messages from other players that give hints online. Every other piece of text seems to work fine. If youve never played it before might want to do the first zone without the fix to see the tutorial messages though.

It's not that big of a deal. not everyone is researching games as if they buy a new house, so there will be a lot of people expecting a real PC game when buying this in the next weeks. And all they get is a 15 fps 1024x720 game. In addition to that they will have a horrible time with keyboard controls and then maybe get invaded by another player and then never buy a game from that publisher again. The publisher didnt do himself any favors.

For 1 and 4, well, it's not called "Prepare to Die" edition for nothing. This IS one of the hardest games you will play. Every single fight is a fight for your life, even trash mobs. After you spend a lot of time familiarizing with the combat system in the game it gets a lot easier, and trash mobs only become dangerous if you get cornered or make a bad mistake, which the game will punish you for severely. You still lose your items when you die because it's not really loading a checkpoint back in time, just a respawn point bonfire(which resets all the enemies and gives you potions), and if you can retrieve your corpse you get your souls back(the currency/exp), but you used the items, so they're gone. At least you got the dragon knight with the bombs, that's probably the best use for them, he's extremely hard for how poorly equipped and leveled you are and early in the game he appears(some people use them on the very first boss the first time you meet him to get a shit item). You can buy more later in the game, but they're not that great once you get better. If you are having trouble with the taurus boss, climb the ladder next to the entrance to first to kill the archers, activate the boss, then run back and drop attack him for massive damage. You should expect to die a lot in the first hundred hours though. And I mean a lot. 100 times might be lowballing it for someone who hasn't played before. Every fight is not something to be taken lightly, no matter how far you've progressed. You have to be accurate and very deliberate in your combat, don't spam your buttons(they do queue actions a little), and don't do anything unnesecarily fancy unless you are sure you are in control. Keep your shield up and use dodge rolls to your advantage(if your weight limit allows it). At least this game is pretty good at making you feel like you are in control, and if you die you know why you died and what you did wrong. But of course, no matter how good you get, "Prepare to Die". A lot.

game is kinda unplayable right now for me though. i get hit needlessly because my guy runs and walks randomly and can't sprint 75% of the time. i've unplugged and replugged in the controller multiple times and it hasn't fixed it. also how do i play online?

Black Knight Tried keyboard controls but they were really uncomfortable and unsuitable, would advise an xbox controller for sure.

You're always online. And this is definitely not a grind game. People have done speed runs at level 1. It's about player skill. It might make it easier, but it's still extremely easy to die.

That really sucks about the controller issues. I grinded a bunch on my first char too til I got used to how deliberate you have to be in combat. You are technically always online, but you probably won't see anyone for a bit other than the brief ghostly apparitions near bonfires and the messages. The online comes when you are invaded or start invading other peoples worlds.+ Show Spoiler + If you want to try it out now, in the firelink shrine go to the right side up the stairs a bit, and then fall down the elevator shaft for 5 cracked red eye orbs. Use them to invade others worlds to PvP them in that game location, though they get used up. There are other permanent methods you find later through other eye orbs, soapstones, and certain rings, the forest hunter ring one and the area iteslf are quite popular and easy to PvP. Many of the others are quite hidden. In fact, most of the stuff in the game is hidden and very very cryptic. You won't find half of the stuff in the game without a guide,.
