Playing Dark Souls has really made me want to go back and play Demon's Souls again. I feel like I have a much bigger appreciation for that game now that I have come to love Dark Souls so much.

I'm honestly surprised at how small the gap between 40/30 and min/50 is when both using buffs though! Sure mileage will vary a bit depending on the scaling of the base weapon, but that still means using a +15 normal with buff for bosses will be great. I had a hunch having two (normal +15 and divine +10) would be the best option, and that settles it. Cool stuff. Excited to play! Now the real question is, if I want to get some sunlight medals and sunbro, should I play on PC or Xbox hehe. The PvP experience I've had on PC is a lot slower than Xbox, even this long after release, but that's only red phantom invasions. Haven't tried any coop. Bout to find out! You're very welcome. ![]() I'm surprised too :O. I just hope there's not any details I'm missing by chance ![]() Games for Windows Live seems to screw with the whole PC matchmaking system. Also, the console population is probably a lot larger than the PC one. On January 20 2014 10:46 KezseN wrote: What are the things that still creeps you out in DaS? Especially those ****ing bone tower things The first time I opened a Mimic treasure chest, I was like, "Wtf why is the chest eating me?" Then it got up, exposing teeth and a tongue, and grew legs and arms. I was like, "Yeah, this is a Japanese game lol" and proceeded to roflstomp him, eyebrow raised all the while. Ever since then, I attack every treasure chest before opening it :D Honorable mention probably goes to the Chasm of the Abyss (last area in the DLC). It's super dark, and has those 9000-eyed monsters running around :S As a dog owner/lover, I felt all warm inside when I saved Sif ![]()

The area that I hate is the abyss I wish there would be monsters down there after you kill four kings. that would be pretty scary.

I finally completed the prison section of Latria, I got lost very easily in that place. Souls are a lot harder to come by. Item Burden is becoming increasingly annoying. Demons souls is horribly balanced when it come to souls. It sucks everywhere but in 4-2 where its christmas, Shrine of storms with the reapers. From my single playthrough and what I've heard almost everybody just go there farm it for as long as necessary according to their need and then don't care about souls everywhere else. Dark souls has its farm spots but at least you have a steady soul income the whole game.

Also Gaping Dragon was really disturbing. Wow, that's quite impressive.

Especially those ****ing bone tower things Tomb of Giants in general because I haven't focused hard enough each time I do it to memorize easy ways around. Still pretty sure I've never even gotten every item in there. That's just the annoyance though, the actual scary part is adding enemies, especially those bone dogs. Not only creepy imagery to see only a face peering at you from 20 feet away with your dinky skull lantern, just waiting... but also they're actually powerful and maul me whenever I'm not careful (or running frantically). The end of the DLC area is also creepy. THAT is true darkness imo. They pulled it off well. To make an area still navigable without needing a source of your own light (skull lantern, etc), but simultaneously have it feel like the life is just sucked out of it. Genuinely creepy. Not to mention the physical manifestations of humanity and stuff. Gives me chills.

A good weapon and skill is really all you need. I honestly don't care anymore whether I lose 10k worth of souls or not.

The second half of the game is a complete pushover even if you don't grind. After they increased the amount of souls you get from bosses most people are finishing the game at like lvl 90+ without grinding. It's like they gave everyone 25-30 free level ups in a given playthrough. I guess they didn't want people grinding in the forest.

The DLC bosses are a pretty big challenge, at least Manus and Kalameet. For those two, in my first playthrough, I fought then naked just to have the speed and stamina regen to dodge and block everything. They're probably the hardest bosses in the game. Thanks to my imba faith build on my second character though, I beat them both on the first or second try. But yeah, Nito is a complete joke as long as you have a Divine weapon to kill the first 3 skeletons (Keep Nito away from the 3 big skeletons in the back). Seath is pretty easy unless you're going after his tail and he does his tentacle stomp move. 4 Kings? Just use a weapon buff and equip Havel's or Stone or Giant's armor lol. So easy. Bed of Chaos? LOL no comment. Almost as easy as Ceaseless Discharge. That said, every boss had some weakness, such that the only really difficult one was O&S. Then again, O&S just takes patience in separating the duo slightly so you can get a good hit on one without the other smacking you. Even PvP is horribly balanced. I made a 50 Faith build, and wreck with SLB with +15 Halberd and Wrath of the Gods :S. I play with a mouse + keyboard too lol. My armor is Black Iron with Crown of the Dark Sun for the helm. Some builds though are significantly better, with Giantdad being among the top in the game ![]()
