Starting at low level and playing at half speed makes me feel like im playing at a snail's pace. It's hard to stomach. I know starting a low level can't (and shouldn't) be avoided since it's the beginning of the series, but man, that is already hard enough, but now I have to deal with rounds taking twice as long and I get 1/2 to 1/3rd as many attacks and no spells to really cast (your mages have about 1 spell to cast per day at the beginning)... it's rough. However, there are a few forum posts on people stating that the devs are aware people want over 30, so hopefully it will be added eventually. The full screen resolution is very very nice I will admit. The game is pretty buggy so far though. Nearly every time I try to put notes on my map I hard crash. I also crashed a few times just leaving a room. If they fix the FPS cap, and fix the weird bugs, I would say it's a solid release. Regardless, I can't be mad at throwing money at anything regarding the computer Baldur's gate games. However, I am a little disappointed, and I may very well buy the GoG (good old games) version of Baldur's gate 1 just cause I can play it at higher FPS and it's not nearly as buggy.

Dunno what hotkeys previous poster needs. Everything has a hotkey in this game and you can assign hotkeys as you like.

Mod-list so far. You can see what mods you don't need.

In the original games, you could increase the FPS, but it would also increase the overall speed of the game. You could go up to 60, but then your characters would just blitz around, making it difficult to do anything in real-time mode. You might be able to change it in config/options, or they might have locked it to 30 to avoid the issue altogether.

Beamdog is playing a pretty dangerous game. I realize they want to release it since it has already been delayed a lot and people are on their asses, but if people buy it only to find a buggy version of BG1 with few enhancements, there will be a ton of complaints and they will lose their shot. Also, you can apparently change framerate in Baldur.ini.

Also it is hard to tell how many people actually have problems. Only devs can know that. I looked at forums and there are complaints but not overly so. Also many complaints were about not being able to download (I downloaded 2.5h later then release and barely got to play before needing to sleep).

There is always threads from people who have issues. People who don't have issues don't post there obviously. I find it funny how the same people here try to keep finding reasons for not buying it every other page. Just don't buy it and move on...

I'm not trying to find reasons not to buy it (and I'm not going to, don't worry, I already bought BG1 twice). Just looking at what people have posted here and on the forums, don't see the problem in helping people getting it to run better (especially since everyone on the last page whined about 30 FPS limit, when it can actually be changed in an .ini file). As for your comment about any forum for any game, no. Look at the PC forum for BGEE and tell me any forum for any game has as many bug reports. Seems that most problems are quite easy to fix and will be solved by beamdog more or less immediately, but there's no question that the release was kind of rushed.

Multiply that by a thousand on release day. Don't tell me you have never seen a technical support forum before. That's no indicator for anything. If you have a bug and want help or know how to fix it sure, go ahead and share. But you are actually judging the functionality of a game based on posts in a technical support forum?? Everyone who doesn't have a problem doesn't bother going into forums saying it's all fine. As I stated myself I haven't encountered any bugs so far with loading, launching and playing 5 hours into the game.
