Nothing truly terrible, but nothing that I'm going to reminisce about 10 years from now. Rose coloured glasses or getting older and gaining experience (having seen it all before). Take your pick. I have a feeling that kids these days will grow up reminiscing about their mass effects, skyrims, COD's, halos (etc etc) and will lament the 'decline' in quality of games coming out in 10 years time, much the same as a lot of older gamers do now.

It makes me wonder if the hardcore oldschool rpger is a large enough segment to where something like this could be profitable. Obviously something like this would completely alienate the skyrim/reckoning folks.

If they do this, it needs to keep the top down view. It won't be the same if they make it first person. Go the Diablo 3 route at worst, with the big zoom ins. Please don't fuck this up. Please.

What if they'd have started creating it befoe the latest edition was available? Although i'd not even want 3rd ed. Everything so watered down. I really liked my equipment restrictions xD

Skyrim/Mass Effect are their BG2's. More risks? Lol? Do you remember the TONS of shitty RTS that came out during the "RTS-Era"? This had nothing to do with "taking more risks" it had to do with making quick and easy money... No wonder this industry got hurt bad and only a few big developers survived...

The gaming industry has grown consistently over the last decades and has since eclipsed the movie industry in revenue. More games are published and more people (and entire demographics) are playing games than ever before. Bad games have been published since the dawn of time, it's part of the business.

? Forgive me for being sceptic, but it takes more than a website with BG2 music and an announcement about an announcement to make me freak out(on a sidenote, if BG3 comes my life will be complete!)
