Basically if ADP breaks Dickerson's record after dragging his shitty team kicking and screaming to the playoffs he should win it. The voters care first and foremost about Wins, then stats, then whether or not you're a quarterback and finally your story. Peyton's got all 4. I'm pretty sure, short of a collapse in the last two games, Peyton's winning another MVP. Decker is a #2/slot. I think his speed matches up perfectly with DT being a physical beat. FYIW, Peyton did say that DT is the most physically gifted WR he has ever played with. I'm pretty sure that's just your average bald faced lie to promote your own team. Physically, Demaryius Thomas probably is the most gifted WR he's ever worked with. 6'3" 229 lbs, 4.38 40 yd. Reportedly had a 47" vertical in his pro day, and a 4.29-40. A FORTY-SEVEN INCH VERTICAL. That's insane. Compare to Harrison at 6 nothing and 185 lbs. Also a 4.38 40. 43" vertical. Reggie Wayne at 6 nothing and 190 lbs. 4.45-40, 36" vertical. Physically, DT is far more gifted than either of them, and they're the two best that he's worked with. He's bigger, faster, and jumps higher. *Note: All stats are taken off of whatever the first result on Google said; I couldn't be bothered to research this in great depth. All this proves is that HOF receivers aren't necessarily combine stars with Create-A-Player measurables.

Well, of course not. But at the time Harrison and Wayne came out, they were prototypical WR's. They were fairly tall for the time, and both of them had good speed. A ~4.4 - 40 yd is good speed.

I don't even fucking remember what Tannebaum/Wrex/that idiot Woody's reason for trading for Tebow was now.
Oh never mind, we're talking about an attention whoring team here.

Christian ponder's wedding was yesterday. It was the first wedding without a reception...
But no AD deserves MVP status. Give payton most improved player or flip the 2.
I'm the biggest Vikings fan and I don't see a way forward faceing the texans and the packers these last 2 weeks getting into the playoffs and adrian the single season running record.
Who knows for sure really though 10 days till glory.

Umm. No. Luck, if they make it to the playoff is guaranteed ROY winner. Luck pretty much carried his whole team on his shoulder. Don't forget the Colts pretty much disbanded the whole team prior to drafting Luck. Leaving him with a shit team to work with. Wilson on the other hand was riding on Marshawn Lynch pretty much the whole year. RG3 has one too many injuries to be even considered a nominee. Sorry but it's true. When the voters look at the overall pictures they will see that Luck is the eventual ROY winner.

Is it safe to say if AP or Peyton Manning wins MVP then they should also win Comeback player of the year award too?

That's a good question, but I don't think they go hand in hand. I think if Peyton wins MVP, then AP is very deserving of Comeback Player of the Year (mostly because he shouldn't be MVP if he's not in the playoffs). If the Vikings make the playoffs, AP should win MVP, and then it's hard to say that Peyton should get Comeback Player of the Year.

I'll do this for him: You finished first in the most annoying fuckface, Bostonian douchebag competition!

Haha fucking hawk can't even beat me when I miss the draft

You two did not post enough this year.

I think it really depends on how you define "MVP."
To me, I take it literally. Most Valuable Player. This isn't the Heisman Trophy that goes to the best player in the league, it goes to the guy that is most irreplaceable on his team. I count two things, personally (as if my feelings matter on this).
First: relevancy of the team. If the team isn't relevant, then who cares? If The Vikings are a five win team without AP, instead of a nine win team with him, but in both cases they miss the playoffs, who cares what value AP added to the team? Those four wins weren't enough to make them advance beyond the first leg of the tournament, so it just doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if they are a two win team without him. No playoffs, no MVP. All MVP's, in my opinion, must be on a playoff team.
The second part is like the baseball WOR stat (Wins Over Replacement). I somewhat touched on this in point one, but this only matters if point one is fulfilled. How many games does this team win with an average player in place of this all-star player? We actually have a very strong idea of how many games the Patriots or Broncos win with subpar talent at the QB position. The Patriots won 11 games when Brady missed a season with a torn ACL. The Broncos won 8 games last year under the miraculous comebacks of Tim Tebow, and a couple other chump QB's. The Packers don't seem to miss a beat when a backup QB comes in... I think it gets really murky and difficult to decide who gets it without AP in the race. To me, then it falls to stats, "intangibles," and personal bias.
With a playoff bid, AP is the clear cut winner. There's no doubt that he is, absolutely, the most valuable member of his team, but his team has to be relevant for that to matter.

Everytime somebody says AP instead of AD I cringe. AD is one of the best nicknames in sports!
Also, Jets to trade Sanchez and dump Tebow after season? Hilarious.

Petersons rushing yards the last 8 weeks look like Joe Flacco passing yards.
153 123 182 171 108 210 154 212
He needs the nerf stick. I agree that the vikings will most likely have to make the playoffs for him to get MVP, that's just the way it works. How many votes did MJD get the last few years for MVP despite him being 90% of his crappy teams offense and leading hte league in rushing?
What he should win imo is comeback player of the year, that's for sure, even if he doesn't win MVP. SNap your knee then less than a year later probably break the all time rushing record, one of hte NFL's greatest achievements? It has to be rewarded. I hope it is. I guess it would be weird for a man that could barely move his arm for a year then comes back to win MVP wouldnt win come back player... but but but... looks at AD's fantasy stats!!! Then again, i might be totally off base here because i'm not sure what the "rules" are for that award. Is there a difference that AP only missed basically 1 game when Peyton missed a whole year? The fact that AD came back so fast is what impresses me so much, but technically he didnt really miss much real football at all.

I don't think there is any stipulation about that. I've seen articles discussing both as Comeback Player of the Year. It's a recovery from a catastrophic injury; that's usually about how the requirement is worded.

.... except Vick won it in 2010 after killing some dogs.
The player named Comeback Player of the Year shows perseverance in overcoming adversity, in the form of not being in the NFL the previous year, a severe injury, or simply poor performance.
I'd give MVP to AP and CPOTY to Peyton if it were up to me.

RG3: 2900 yds, 8.3y/a, 66.4% 18td 4int, 748yds, 6td
Luck: 3978yds 7.1y/a, 54.6% 20td 18int 233 5td
Luck has more total yards, but Griffin is damn near a full 10% better and it's not like they're just doing 5 yard passes there.
I think if both don't make the playoffs, it comes down to that. Otherwise, I am not really sure. I don't think Luck had that many more yards to overcome that completion differential, or Griffin's ability to run as well.
Talent wise, both teams are in the same ball park. Wash was 5-11 last year and the Colts were 2-14.
also fuck all yall bitches
