I see, I think im going to start using my clown control deck again is pretty fun hitting people for 3400 directly with lilly

I used to have a bunch of cards. Until they got stolen. That was like what, 10 years ago?
I have a weakside for card games though even though I've never played one except MTG once! :p
I might try this. Is it hard to get into if all you ever did was look at your bunch of YuGiOh cards 10 years ago?

Can anybody give a quick update for somebody who doesn't have a clue about how to play anymore (ie common strategies)

Konami really needs to get their shit together if this game is gonna remain competitive in 3-4 years. There are a lot of issues that luckily don't affect most people playing on DN other than some card creation issues with the sets. The tendency has been to make 6-10 really really good cards in a set, 1 that's broken, and make the rest unplayable and whenever a card in a preview gets speculated to be really good or metachanging it gets bumped up to secret rare and costs $200 more than it first did
and the regionals/tournament prizes are a joke you seriously win like a game mat for winning a regional tournament and thats it I agree wholeheartedly and that's why I'll never pay for YuGiOh cards ever again. The market is sometimes ridiculous and the only cards that were actually good were made into higher rarities. Also, TCG exclusives broke the game far more than everyone imagined them to be, and are never hit on the banlist since they bring the OCG banlist over. The prizes for winning a tournament doesn't matter much, and the scene will die unless they are able to make metadeck costs to be accessible to other players.
I'll also state that most decks today are mostly auto-pilot, meaning that once you know the effects of those cards, it's very easy to play the deck without knowing any of the intricacies through testing.

Wattlock![[image loading]](http://serv4.tcgimages.eu/img/items/5/STBL/watthopper.jpg)
The purpose of this deck is to use Watthopper to lock the field down and then deal direct damage to your opponent. Your first goal is to get two watthoppers face-up onto the field. When you have two watthoppers face up on the field one of your "watt" monsters can be attacked or targeted.
Monsters: Watthopper x3 Wattgiraffe x3 Wattdragonfly x3 Wattcobra x3 Wattlemur x3 Thunder King Rai-Oh x2 Swift Scarecrow x2 Lava Golem x1 Morphing Jar x1 Sangan x1 Marshmallon x1 Honest x1
Spells: Messenger of Peace x3 Recycling Batteries x2 Monster Reborn x1 One For One x1 Swords of Revealing Light x1 Dark Hole x1
Traps: Dimensional Prison x2 Starlight Road x2 Dark Bribe x2 Solemn Judgment x1
Extra Deck: Stardust Dragon x2
After locking the field with Watthopper you have a lot of options. Lava Golem is the best option as your opponent can no longer use it to attack your monsters. As long as you have your dark bribes/judgment/starlight road set you can negate any dark holes/black rose that might clear your field out. Opening with Marshmallon (I take him with Sangan since you have other search options for Watthopper) can force your opponent to waste a dark hole or other field clearing spell that might otherwise stop your wattlock from winning the game. Even if you don't get a lock working, you can use cards like honest and swift scarecrow to maintain a LP advatage while you chip away with wattcobra and giraffe. Wattlemur is also a star in this deck, it's saved my ass multiple times.
I'm thinking of taking out 1 wattlemur and 1 morphing jar for 2 effect veilers, for additional security. I'm gonna put them in my side deck along with 1 consecrated light and 2 dark imprisoning mirror. I'm still working on a side deck but that's my base right now, mostly for dealing with dark world. Effect Veiler is good in any deck. Also thinking about whether or not Compulsory Evac might be a better choice over one dark bribe.

Would anyone be interested in playing with cards from the first 4 or so boosters? I only played through Pharoah's Servant but I did play pretty competitvely. I had 2 mech chasers in real life so i stomped local tourneys pretty easily and did well online, but I quit to focus on WGT. I'd love to play a few games for old times sake, but I don't have the time to learn 10 new sets of cards lol

Once you learn the rules you can catch on pretty quick, but it will take time to learn specific rulings.

just watch a few games the basics are easy, but the subtleties aren't
Edit beaten by ^ with a better response than me

How/where do I watch?
Also, am i going to have to spend like 29379824 hours making a deck? because i dont even know what's good

Sign up then on the main menu it has an option for watch or duel (under the title mode) then just click on a name and go go.
Just write down cards and combo's that win people duels and just build from there I guess for a beginner

Hey DocH, I think ill try this out. I'm a big fan of HERO decks (destiny and elemental) and look forward to playing with you guys.
