But they were so dominant I have both of them ranked as the #1/#2 PFs of all time.

Quick question; why is Karl Malone never in the discussion for best PF of all time? Due to the Jazz never being broadcasted where I live, I rarely saw him play - was his defense THAT bad or something? Because his offense speaks for itself Also; Bulls are having a Hawks day, can't hit shots for shit >_<

That being said, his defense wasn't on the level of KG but his offensive game was damn near unstoppable.

Seems like the Bulls will lose this one, shooting 35% till mid in the 3rd won't cut it against playoff teams .. and especially when Deng isn't having a good day :<

He definitely ranks as one of the best of the last 10-20 years but to put him ahead of Karl Malone who ranks only under Kareem with the NBA's most points scored in his career is just not legit. Malone had he not been playing in the same era as Michael Jordan would have won multiple titles as well, we can play the same "what if" game with him as that article does with KG.

The Mailman gave me nightmares.

Duncan usually relies on higher percentage post moves than Garnett, who's more known for his undefendable midrange jumper. The stats work out with Duncan averaging over .500 in the playoffs, including .453, .522, .529 in 2002-2004. KG averages .472, including .429,.514,.452 2002-2004. Duncan has much better block % stats. The only thing he's done worse at is defensive rebounding, which is probably a teammate issue (Duncan is higher on offensive rebounding) and free throw percentage. On defense, outside of stats, Duncan's performances against Amare, especially in late game situations without fouling are amazing, and he's also had to defend Shaq. They're very different players, with Garnett relying a lot of activity and length and Duncan relying much more on positioning. I've seen an article about the "genius" of Duncan is not leaving his feet (I'll try to find), and another from ESPN's thorpe about how Duncan's been able to do things on Pick and Roll defense that you couldn't expect anyone else to.

I'd rank: Duncan > KG > Malone > Dirk Malone was an offensive force, at times, but also, in my opinion, took advantage of a "sweet spot" in time where no one was scheming for people like him and no one matched up well with him. Also I am not a fan of "accumulators" who just play forever as all time greats. See Paul Pierce as the #1 scoring Celtic.
