Maybe I should try leveling an alt in an RP server to keep things interesting. Anyone have experience in the general mood of those servers? Nobody's going to crucify me for not doing much more than refraining from saying gamey stuff to people? WALL OF TEXT Okay, that should get you started. More than you asked for, but I felt it was a good time to just dump it all in one post. Well that was a fairly comprehensive post, now wasn't it? Thanks. I knew Tarren Mill was horde favoured, but 97%? Shit, time to transfer.

Ok, so we've got Ner'zhul and Kul Tiras as possible options for a realm, I'd say Akama as my toon is already on it but the server is really empty and I'd prefer someplace busier. If anyone else has a pre-existing guild or preference for a realm/faction, go ahead and post it in this thread. I'll do my best to get things going if people are interested.

Have anyone tried out monk tank? Is it as good and fun as the other classes?

I have played feral, warrior and dk tank in previous expansions, been playing brewmaster since ToT. It's the most fun tank class imo. An actively thinking and fast player with a SC background will appreciate the level of control you get over your character. Of course, in the wrong hands a brewmaster can't compare to the other tanks in terms of survivability, but if you do it right, you will almost never come to those "I'm the tank, so I'll stand here and pretend I'm not bored." situations and be rewarded with healer appreciation plus a nice position on the dps list.

From what I've heard from people that have played them is that:
They are fun to play.
They aren't the easiest tank to play.
From what I've experienced in groups with Monks they do a TON of damage as Tanks especially compared with Paladins and Druids but can be prone to taking larger spikes of damage than the shield wearing tanks making them frustrating in the wrong situations.

I got the 10 day trial and finally reached level 85! (by only playing the 30 day free month when buying the game with expansions for 5 dollars and 10 day trials after that)
I have gotten to Pandaria now, and it's such a nice place! But what else should I check out? What else to do at 85-90? I'm definitely doing heroics and quests in Pandaria.

There's a blog about the Timeless Isle on the main website, as well as various guides if you want to get your gear closer to up-to-date quickly.
http://www.icy-veins.com/timeless-isle-wow
"Moss-covered chests" - loot these for easy armor tokens and coins, don't loot them all if you plan to do the quests on the Isle later, leave one or two up just in case.
The rest is up to you, it's fun to explore the island, the enemies are more challenging than everything off the island (except perhaps the mantid rares that can catch you off guard if you're slow to react and murder you with blade flurry). No new heroics were added from release so you can play those out.
Check out the Scenarios (including heroic scenarios if you're into group content, get a couple friends or find a group in trade), as those are fun mini-stories and a decent chance at something useful if you're struggling on the Isle.
Isle of Thunder was fun for a while, IMO. If you haven't started that, check it out!

I'm reactivated my account for 5.4 and I don't really have anybody to play with on my server (Tichondrius). I'll be down to join if everyones rolling fresh

I started the weekend (Saturday 7pm) with a gear score ilevel whatever of 493, after farming LFR (just TOT part 1/2/3/4) and about 5hours in total of coin/rare farming i got up a whole 17ilevel. I have now an average of 510 ilevel. It is so easy now to get yourself a decent PVE see to go and raid with or atleast Flex raid with a handful of your friends. I guess the main raiders again might be a pissed that it is easy to get the gear, but for people like me who only want to casually play WoW whilst there is no football on or other activities you can do, it is so much easier to balance now. Not saying i do not miss back in TBC farming heorics with 4 other mates trying to get full epic so i can go to Kara etc. But it is still good fun and a laugh, and who knows i might get back into high end raiding, but atm im pretty happy not doing so! So in other words, 5.4 so far is alot to do, some nice farming areas and some good PVE content. Pvp....lets not discuss this ^_^
I still haven't purchased MoP but I did give it a go of Horde side SenJin and Alliance Perenolde with a full cata 10 day and there seems to have been a serious population drop. It seems that many still play, but for less at a time. I hadn't played in 1 year and 7 months so it was definitely a culture shock. Cross realm guilds and such.
Also, having my rare mounts such as Rivendare's being proliferated across my account to every other char who could technically earn them was a bit weird. Originally it was earned on my Alliance druid, but was on my Horde hunter for example. Sadly my old pvp title 'General' did not spread, while many other titles did. My level 1 panda had my explorer/patient titles and whatnot.

I can't comment on the US population of realms, but the population of EU realms is defiantly strange at the moment. There is 3 main realms, Stormscale where it is 90% + population of Horde only (PvP server) Twisting Nether (again Horde 95%+ PvP Server) then Outland EU a 70% populated Alliance (PvP Server). It is strangeeee, but the queues you get for those 3 servers are a good 1hour at populated times, which IS A JOKE! But i guess it is like you say due to populations being smaller than they should be and everyone cramming into the one main server or in EU case the main 3.
And yeah lol the made everything accound bound, i too have Scout title which i got when i was a little noob when i was first learning the ropes of MMORPG. I find it quite funny but i wish my other chars could be Scouts :'(
Panda is 1000x better than Cata so maybe if you do get bored again you can try it, but i wouldn't be going hardcore on WoW anytime soon, but they will still get my 8.99 a month sub money for the considerable future. And the way Panda was as an expansion im sure the next expansion is going to be good as well :D

farvacola, I recently picked up WoW again as well. I'd be willing to reroll on a new server. I have a 90 horde druid on ner'zhul that could help with enchants and jewelcrafting if you choose that server.

My main lock is still on Akama, and man is it empty.

I spent most of my time on Tichondrius which sometimes could get server queues. Nerzhul seemed like a ghost town to me in comparison, but after playing on gorefiend for a little while, nerzhul looked like a bustling goldrush town haha. Nerzhul on horde side seemed just fine to me. There are players looking for groups for both pve and PvP and the AH had plenty to offer. I imagine alliance side has a healthy population as well
|
Hmm, decisions decisions......I don't wanna stay on Akama really, but I'm not sure which server would be the best to end up on. I don't mind server queues when that means the world is full of people, maybe Tichondrius?
|
I'll reroll on any server. I'll be playing so casually I won't mind low or high population.
