you only played the american version right? the eu and jap version had insanely hard bosses
You mean: The EU and JAP version had bosses which forced you to grind for an eternity?

Yojimbo. He was my savior. Only my Tidus could break damage limit, and that was only to like 11k. But Yojimbo had high affection for my Yojimbo. So sometimes he came before the battle started and instantly Zanmatoed. Priceless

I remember most of the bosses in 10 having exploitable weaknesses, you just had to figure out what they were.
For example: My first play through I didn't realize you could summon Shiva in order to do 9999 dmg against Anima, essentially making that boss fight possible. Instead I resorted to grinding to get past it without summoning Shiva .
When I played it (blind) I was not able to find any of the celestial weapons; consequently none of my characters broke the 9999 limit. Looking at the guides in retrospect, there was no way I could have broken it... the process is too complicated to be figured out naturally.
My only saving grace was to be able to get the Omega Temple and getting some Teleporting Spheres and some Key Spheres (Level3/4 I think) from the mobs in that part. I beat the game after I managed to teleport Tidus to Auron's section and giving Lulu Doublecast + Ultima.
However, I do admit when playing FF blind, whether or not the game is "easy" or not depends on luck a lot. Typically, finding 1-2 "ultimate" weapons or skills make the game considerably easier.

Grinding was really easy and super fast with the monster farm.
IIRC, EU and JAP (international?) versions nerfed some things (like Quick Hit) but yeah... you gotta clarify which bosses "forced you to grind for an eternity"
If people can get to the final boss without using the Sphere Grid, summons, and overdrives (NSGNSNO playthrough), pretty sure you don't need to grind for an eternity. Unless you're referring to the Dark Aeons, and I don't think side quests should count on that category (just my opinion though)

Oh? Maybe it has escaped me but what was Penance's weakness again? >.<

I know my most memorable part in FFX was getting to the part of the game that was the same as the opening game scene. I remember just gazing listening to the music and thinking "wow, this was beautifully done."
The best "wow" moment for me in the FF franchise (besides those many plot twists in FFVII) was when you step out into the world view in FFVII for the first time. It was like OMG WTF THERE'S A BIG ASS WORLD OUT HERE when all you've known for all that time until then was the Mako Reactors.
Although not as epic as a reaction, when I first got into the world of ruin on FFVI and lost my entire party I was like omg wtf a new world? hahaha.
Yeah, that step into the big world made me sad with FF7, i had previously told my sister: There are 7 (i think ? been a while) reactors. disk 1 is 1-3 disk 2 4-6 and disk 3 is 7-shinra HQ. Being like 7 and thinking i was a bad-ass. She rofled at me :-( Awesome moment none the less.
FFX is my 2nd favourite FF if im honest, im a big fan of the story line, i think it was extremely well done, very touching. FF7 is my ultimate favourite.
I honestly cannot wait for this remake it will be so epic :D
My head somewhat stops me from playing through 6+8 (6, the graphics and slow based play. I know i know im a spoilt next-gen brat now >.>) and 8 the battle system is also extremely fucking shite, although i find the story line to be compelling ( I cannot sit there spamming the summons all day ). I should give these two games another chance 6 i havent really made it through the opening plot and with 8 ive just reached a 2nd SEED HQ. But time is hard to come by considering work / course + various other games taking my attention (the latest being mass effect 2)
Well if you can't have backwards compatibility just release the same game 10 years after the fact...
I mean yeah I'm happy for it. FFX is one of my most played games. My brother and I would pass the controller back and forth and just kick back on the weekend. Probably the three biggest challenges for us were + Show Spoiler +
Evrea, Seymour on Gagazet, and Jecht
. Still though, it just seems kind of a rip off to have these re-releases when emulation or just straight up backwards compatibility are options. But whatever, I'll have fun with it and I'll finally get back to a proper FF game instead of the shitfest that was XIII. And even better is it will be fairly easy since I remember everything, like the Celestial weapons and all the Cloister puzzles now.
They won't further Chrono. They've stated Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger ports didn't sell well enough to permit one, they won't even port Chrono Trigger anymore.

Serious?
Thats so bullshit... it's just as good as the FF series.
Though I always found it weird why I liked FFX so much when I didn't like Yuna, Tidus or Rikku for the most part as individual characters. Maybe they were all fleshed out nice and the plotline was very good. Hm. Gotta play it again to see.
I'm so hyped about this I decided to do a remake of one of the songs from FFX. (Silence before the storm, the song that plays in the first part of Macalania Woods)
I've uploaded it to youtube:
Now let's hope they do FFX-2 and FFXII as well... ^^
