Square-Enix dropped a bombshell at today's Sony press conference at Tokyo Game Show. With the tenth anniversary of Final Fantasy X coming up, Square thought it would release an HD version of Final Fantasy X.
There are currently no more details. Will update asap!
I think it is because PS2 games are easier to edit into HD/remaster versions. This is the reason why Sony took away the PS3's backwards compatible ability, so they can make PS2 games into HD/remaster. I personally never played FF10, so I'll most likely pick this up.
There are already a lot of PS2 games being remade in HD:
- God of War 1, 2, and the PSP games - Devil May Cry 1-3 - Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica - Sly Coooper - Metal Gear Solid 2-3 + Peacewalker.
FFX is my favorite in the series just pure turn based fun, likable characters, hair pulling mini game, customizable weapons, sphere grid system, etc. I sank a ridiculous amount of hours into this game as a kid.

You and me both! XD
True that the only thing that would top it is a huge FF7 remake IMO, and im not starting a "which is best" - the large majority of fans would love to see it.
After seeing advent children, crisis core and even dirge of cerberus, playing FF7 does slightly disappoint.
Wow nice but I don't have a PS3 so this doesn't really mean much (watching gameplay walkthroughs on Youtube FTW). I'll rob a bank to buy one if they remake FF7/8/9 in HD though.
Sick news! I've played pretty much every single one FF except the PS2 ones so really excited for FF X. Absolutely no idea if it's good or not but I'm just going to assume it is and be pumped
Wow has it really been 10 years? I really enjoyed FFX, I spent so many hours playing this game (too many actually, all the way into the early hours of the morning). I might give it another play through just for nostalgia I still remember that swimming game and always losing until I just manually moved the player myself to score points haha

I am with you! I can't understand the hate I read about directed at FFX some places.. I liked the turn based battles in FFX more than in any other turn based FF and summoning system wasn't just a prettier magic. Glad to see this made into HD!
If they add Japanese language tracks to US/EU releases I might consider getting it, they probably won't though... It's my favourite PS2/PS3 FF easily but theres only so and so many times I'm going to play through the same game. HD and original language track together would make it a bit different experience at least.
they probably are remaking a Final Fantasy 7, but its completely different from remaking in high Definition a Ps2 game, it takes way more cash and time put in it.

Anyway, damn, blitzball coming back :D
I was so addicted to blitzball, I always wished there was a multiplay option for it
I just replayed this on my comp (still own the ps2 discs but the ps2 died awhile back) and man, just a great game. *ponders buying a ps3 for this*

Yeah.. 10 years and only 2 real FF games came out
FFXII, I didn't like the story or the characters that much, and the combat system felt half finished.. Would have liked to try to combat system in the version 2 of FFXII that was Japan only :p I have always thought that a Dragon Age kind of combat system, with classes, in FFXII could have been absolutely marvellous!
FFXIII I actually thought better than FFXII, just far to little side missions and quest..
And the monster hunt in FFXII, Missions in FXIII I didn't like, rather have more hidden side missions!
Oh my god...I almost when I read the acticle it's such good news. SOOO happy!
I just thought of something, wouldn't it be totally awesome if you could use your blitzball team to play against other people's on PSN or something? So many possibilities...

Anyways, so I have read that they are actually remaking a lot of models and stuff in brand new HD PS3-esque graphics. Not just an up rez version. Which is pretty frikken awesome!

This man speaks the truth
Hell i ll even buy ANOTHER ps3(yes i have one) if they remake 6 and 7 (my two favourite, followed closely by X)..
Theres that little thing about 8's Draw system that always give me the feeling that it could have been improved.. I mean Junctioning and spamming Limit Break (or have the comp spam it for u in case of Rinoa) is all cool, but having to draw 100 of all magics, especially early game when u draw 0-2 Esunas per turn? >.< man that was (slightly) tedious, and unnecessarily so.

Updated graphics are good I guess. I wasn't really asking for one. They may as well work on good FFs of the past because they sure as hell can't make good ones anymore.

The most annoying thing about FFX was farming 10 Tomberrys from that one cave imo, I had about 1 Tomberry for every 3 hours in that goddamn cave but you needed them to finish the monster farm
Would have much prefered 7-8 remakes to be honest. Saying that this is relatively low maintence for them. All they have to do is bump up the resoloution and textures. Voice actings already done.
Here's the real issue with remaking 7. They wouldn't just upres it... they'd likely make it almost from scratch, minus story/arcs.
With this, they could remodel and keep a lot of the same designs that they had before. It's not a multi-year, multimillion dollar effort. It's more of a small team effort that they split off while they're doing versus.
However, I do agree with the sentiment, I think there's a market out there for a multi-year FF7 remaking effort =/.
If you guys like PS2 games, I recommend you look into PS2 emulation. It's perfectly legal if you own a PS2 and the game you're emualting. Keep in mind that you need a good PC for it to be enjoyable else, you'll encounter lag issues.
Here's some FFX if you want to take a look at how it looks emulated: + Show Spoiler [FFX] +
Fuck yes! I can't wait for this. I would have rather seen a FF7 remake, but this is my definite second choice.
Also, if they're gonna do this, I think it'll make them more likely to do a FF7 remake in the future. Yes, FFX will take less work, but I think if it's successful it will give them lots of incentive to do FF7.
been 10 years since i spent so much hours on FFX to unlock Nemesis and Penance? Can't believe that! Collecting those Dark Matters were a bitch but i did love the Blitzball Games. Jecht Shots ftw!
Well I love FF10 but FF8 is my favorite and I'd love to buy a remake of this one. Good initiative though, it will be a treat for people who missed it the first time.
Talking about a remake of FF7, then I would like to see them impement some of the scenes that they had to cut in the original.
A scene intended to imply her and Cloud having sex was proposed by Masato Kato, one of the event planners, but was replaced with a toned down version by Kitase in which a risqué line is followed by a fade to black.
I spent hundreds of hours on FFX all those years ago, no time now to do it again unfortunately but I will be trying to find the FMVs and getting some good desktop backgrounds out of this.
Are they doing this with the international version but with dual audio this time? Or do people have to edit and make their own isos out of it...? There is a ps2 version ( not official one ) with a non english audio and english text instead of what they give you.
I wonder if its the american version or the inernational one, i remember the international one had a lot more bosses and stuff that i never got to see, hopefully they can get it all
ACTUALLY the best part is yunalesca in HD.....nomnomnomnomnom
Strange choice of a remake. I would have figured they'd make a shitload more by remaking VII. Although as someone else pointed out, it would take a lot more work to do.
Edit- (All caps are bad) I am very excited about this :D I wonder if they will make any other significant changes to it, its gonna be a blast to play through again

In both those versions... the voices were horrendous...
I much prefer 6 and 7 but 10 wasn't bad. As long as they keep that 8 trash in the gutter where it belongs I'll be happy. Would be nice to get a high res 6/7.
if they are remaking it, it obviously will be the international version, they have no excuse NOT to include the dark aeons and penance, it was a real blast at the end game fighting those ( without yojimbo xD )
FFX is a shit load easier to remake, stop moaning about the others needing to be done, everyone knows it. Lets just pray its because they are putting resources into FF13-2 and Versus 13.
If you killed penance you are my god btw, i got fucked off after i farmed all of those fucking monsters in every area (hours of writing lists, ticking off lists hand fucking written) i did that, got bored. started a new game because after 200 hours of that i forgot the story and what it was like to hit below 10k xD
UGH, wrong FF!!! remake any other plz! I guess it would've been more work upgrading a ps or snes classic though. FFX already pushes a fairly high poly count with very detailed characters, guess it makes the most sense to rerelease this one with improved graphics.
Never really been a fan of X. Then again, I don't really want them touching up VII, VIII or IX since they're fine as they are. Would've been nice to see them remake VI into a 3D version, but I guess that would take too much effort and money. I guess slapping on some new textures and calling it 'HD' might help them make a few fast bucks with X. Goodness knows Squre Enix needs some right now.
WTF? That's the last final fantasy i want redone. And its one of the few that need it the least. Give me 7 redone, or even give me 6. Give me several that are worth it but not 10 and its horrid voice acting.
An FFVII remake would be sick. Although, FFX is probably my favorite video game ever so I might actually buy a PS3 just for this, and for when KH3 comes out.
Don't get me wrong, this is great news but... FFX graphics aren't that bad. They're on PS2. FFVII graphics are terrible. THAT game needs an overhaul on the tech side and fans would be so much more into that.

this link says itd take 9 years (and a lot of money) to reproduce 7 with the same graphics as 13 because 7 is "too detailed"?
oh wow 10 years ?! That just can't be real. I remember buying the game as if it was last year, and playing 30 hours straight right after.
As the post above me says, I wouldn't be surprised that FF7 would be too difficult. Every single "image" that was in the background would take a while to remodel in 3D, and there are so many of them. FFX didn't even have a proper "world map". Anyway, great news, I may get a PS3 and a HD TV for it.
Does any1 that bought the pre International version ( the US version ) knows why that one didnt include all the stuff from the actual international version? Something to do with release dates?
Cuz if so, they have no excuse not to do a full international version for everyone this time around
If they made a HD FFXII International I would buy that, as I said before in this thread I found the combat in FFXII to feel flawed and unfinished and I hope and think that the International version solved that
so, who else killed penance? god I spent hours and hours farming those luck spheres.....killing the dark areons and penance was by far the thing that took me longer in a single player game

There's a glitch that isn't well known that you can use to make the lighting dodging incredibly easy.
If you tell me that i might start a 4th playthrough just for it :p
Well, not that Lulu will make the final party =/ its always 3 out of Tidus/Rikku/Wakka/Yuna for me xD
That said on a standard playthrough (ignoring final weapons and Arena n all that crap), Lulu is totally powerful >.< Cactuar Booster + Doublecast = auto win
Oh, look. The scene people use to make fun of FFX's voice acting without actually knowing the proper context. Hi!
Even knowing the context that scene was god awful. But i hope they dont change it, i want it to be just as horrible and cheesy as the first time around because i loved everything about FF10. Well that sucks for the FF7 fans. With the remakes of these older games, I wonder if they'll re-tune the difficulty. I didn't like how they changed certain aspects of the ones they've remade.

The worst thing is when you ignored blitzball all game then realised at the end you needed to play them for wakkas overdrives/celestial weapons. Having to play all those games back to back then get into enough fights (100s) to start new leagues was just horrible. On my second playthrough i started straight away and played a few games now and them as i went on, much more manageable. I just turned every game into a record score attempt. I think my best was 16-0 or something like that.

Yeah, the scene was awful but people use it as an example of bad voice acting, which is incorrect.
I don't get the hype around FFX and FFVII. I played both of the games and I didn't particularly enjoy either of them, although I thought FFX's sphere grid system was very unique and FFVII had a great setting) There are a ton of fans for both games though so I guess this move makes sense for SE.
Wish they remade FFIX though... :\ I really liked that game.

A IX's fan? well i too loved it, it was a nice attempt to bring back the classic FF gameplay, and not a shabby one either i liked both the art and the story.
As far as story goes though, i personally feel that X has the best story-telling all around (not just FF, among all the RPGs i have played, aka quite a few).. Add to that the stunning graphics (compared to those that were 10 years ago), and you have a nice game for most people.. I find the Sphere Grid relatively boring, especially when you compare it with Materia or Junction or even the Relic system of VI. Mastering the Sphere Grid only means improved stats, for the most part.. You hit harder, faster, and take less damage..
This is where VII shine.. Lets forget the (very interesting) story for a moment, the Materia system imho was (one of) the best Character Customisation system Square has ever come up with.. Get hit once? Slap him back 16 times... Die? Ressurect your whole party, and throw a couple of Knights of The Round into his face as well, just for lulz.. Tired of grinding? Sneak Attack + KotR + MP Drain and you can grind indefinitely while watching TV or eating dinner, or both.. Im sure there are wayyy a lot more things u can do with Materias, just listing a few off the top of my head.
VI is wonderful as well, but nobody dissed 6 yet, so i wont go there

Same. It seems an odd choice to me. 6, 7, or 9 I think would be a lot better. Then again a lot of excitement in this thread so you and I may be the odd ones here.
Emulating FFX on my PC was good and all, and while I could force 8x AA/AF and render it all in HD, it still felt a bit hackish to me and there were many small bugs that weren't there in the raw PS2 version. I am probably going to buy/rent/borrow a PS3 just to play FFX though once this happens.
I loved this, probably not my favourite FF by any means (VI and IX are the best) but good news in general. I suppose I can already play the PS1 FF's on my PS3 because of the store (and I do).
What? Well, don't get me wrong, I'm glad they would remake FFX, but I surely was expecting FFVII to me remade first, considering how big of a hit it would be. And it sure doesn't feel like 10 years...
FFX was such an amazing game, I'm so excited for this! So glad my roommate has a PS3 haha, I can't wait for this
Edit: I really REALLY hope that they give the international version to all the regions this time, it's sad missing out on awesome stuff like dark aions because I have just the NA version
Also, to the people wondering why they are remaking FFX instead of FF w/e else. It's kinda obvious but...it's the tenth anniversary so it makes sense to remake the tenth game in the FF canon.
As if the graphics are what makes FFX stupid and moronic (it's stupid characters, a hero that i constantly wanted to die or at least shut up for the rest of the game and a story that defines bullshit).
FFXIII has, compared to FFVII, no content and took over 5 years to complete. Now imagine FFVII. It's not like FFX where you can just upscale everything, you would have to remake everything from scratch.
Maybe, at some point, there can be something like a 'FF7:light edition' where you can only follow the main storyline.
Oh, look. The scene people use to make fun of FFX's voice acting without actually knowing the proper context. Hi!

if you want a bad example of voice acting all you have to do is play the opening scenes I am merely fronting reasons as to why you wouldnt want to see a hd remake of this game.
I can't wait to see Tobli in HD when they come out with X-2, it's Yunapalooza time baby....
Seriously remake a game that needs it like FFVII (original had fail translation and the gfx are way more dated), or better yet, Xenogears (one can dream).
So when I saw the PS Vita at E3, my brain said "Mehhhhh." When I read this news on Kotaku about the HD remake for PS Vita, I instantly was sold. I don't even care if anything else comes out for it, I will buy it solely for this game. It was the best game of my childhood.
Interesting. I hope it's well done instead of just being a ploy to squeeze more money out of the franchise during this recession to subsidize other parts of their company. That'd be a tragedy.
I know my most memorable part in FFX was getting to the part of the game that was the same as the opening game scene. I remember just gazing listening to the music and thinking "wow, this was beautifully done."
The best "wow" moment for me in the FF franchise (besides those many plot twists in FFVII) was when you step out into the world view in FFVII for the first time. It was like OMG WTF THERE'S A BIG ASS WORLD OUT HERE when all you've known for all that time until then was the Mako Reactors.
Although not as epic as a reaction, when I first got into the world of ruin on FFVI and lost my entire party I was like omg wtf a new world? hahaha.
I liked 10 a lot, except for the fact that you could beat the final boss in like 2 hits when fully maxed out. Im guessing they are re-making 10 because it was the last square-soft final fantasy and afterwards came square-enix X-2. Stilling waiting for my remake of 7 and 9 but 10 will do for now.
I'm surprised and not surprised at the same time that they would remake FFX "first". Not surprised in that it's probably a much easier process than taking the old PSX games, which would probably have to be remade from scratch. But I am surprised simply because, I just watched someone play through FFX recently and, I feel as though a graphic overhaul on a nextgen system wouldn't really... change the game much? It's a much less dramatic transition for a PS2 game that already looked alright to be overhauled than something from the PSX generation.
It'll be a good excuse for fans of X to play it again and be happy that Square is doing this at all (I am, personally), but - and I hate to be cliche - I think VII would have been better (or 8 or 9, tbh any of the 3 PSX games).

Yojimbo. He was my savior. Only my Tidus could break damage limit, and that was only to like 11k. But Yojimbo had high affection for my Yojimbo. So sometimes he came before the battle started and instantly Zanmatoed. Priceless

I remember most of the bosses in 10 having exploitable weaknesses, you just had to figure out what they were.
For example: My first play through I didn't realize you could summon Shiva in order to do 9999 dmg against Anima, essentially making that boss fight possible. Instead I resorted to grinding to get past it without summoning Shiva .
When I played it (blind) I was not able to find any of the celestial weapons; consequently none of my characters broke the 9999 limit. Looking at the guides in retrospect, there was no way I could have broken it... the process is too complicated to be figured out naturally.
My only saving grace was to be able to get the Omega Temple and getting some Teleporting Spheres and some Key Spheres (Level3/4 I think) from the mobs in that part. I beat the game after I managed to teleport Tidus to Auron's section and giving Lulu Doublecast + Ultima.
However, I do admit when playing FF blind, whether or not the game is "easy" or not depends on luck a lot. Typically, finding 1-2 "ultimate" weapons or skills make the game considerably easier.

Grinding was really easy and super fast with the monster farm.
IIRC, EU and JAP (international?) versions nerfed some things (like Quick Hit) but yeah... you gotta clarify which bosses "forced you to grind for an eternity"
If people can get to the final boss without using the Sphere Grid, summons, and overdrives (NSGNSNO playthrough), pretty sure you don't need to grind for an eternity. Unless you're referring to the Dark Aeons, and I don't think side quests should count on that category (just my opinion though)

Yeah, that step into the big world made me sad with FF7, i had previously told my sister: There are 7 (i think ? been a while) reactors. disk 1 is 1-3 disk 2 4-6 and disk 3 is 7-shinra HQ. Being like 7 and thinking i was a bad-ass. She rofled at me :-( Awesome moment none the less.
FFX is my 2nd favourite FF if im honest, im a big fan of the story line, i think it was extremely well done, very touching. FF7 is my ultimate favourite.
I honestly cannot wait for this remake it will be so epic :D
My head somewhat stops me from playing through 6+8 (6, the graphics and slow based play. I know i know im a spoilt next-gen brat now >.>) and 8 the battle system is also extremely fucking shite, although i find the story line to be compelling ( I cannot sit there spamming the summons all day ). I should give these two games another chance 6 i havent really made it through the opening plot and with 8 ive just reached a 2nd SEED HQ. But time is hard to come by considering work / course + various other games taking my attention (the latest being mass effect 2)
Well if you can't have backwards compatibility just release the same game 10 years after the fact...
I mean yeah I'm happy for it. FFX is one of my most played games. My brother and I would pass the controller back and forth and just kick back on the weekend. Probably the three biggest challenges for us were + Show Spoiler +
Evrea, Seymour on Gagazet, and Jecht
. Still though, it just seems kind of a rip off to have these re-releases when emulation or just straight up backwards compatibility are options. But whatever, I'll have fun with it and I'll finally get back to a proper FF game instead of the shitfest that was XIII. And even better is it will be fairly easy since I remember everything, like the Celestial weapons and all the Cloister puzzles now.
They won't further Chrono. They've stated Chrono Cross and Chrono Trigger ports didn't sell well enough to permit one, they won't even port Chrono Trigger anymore.

Serious?
Thats so bullshit... it's just as good as the FF series.
Though I always found it weird why I liked FFX so much when I didn't like Yuna, Tidus or Rikku for the most part as individual characters. Maybe they were all fleshed out nice and the plotline was very good. Hm. Gotta play it again to see.
I'm so hyped about this I decided to do a remake of one of the songs from FFX. (Silence before the storm, the song that plays in the first part of Macalania Woods)
I've uploaded it to youtube:
Now let's hope they do FFX-2 and FFXII as well... ^^
I would kill for a remake of FF6 and FF7. But they have stated before that FF7 is too big and would require too much money to remake with today's graphics.
ok look people, this is not a remake, it's merely a graphic updates, and since it's easier to do that with FFX while with FFVII there no way they can do that other than remake the whole thing, that's why they decide to do FFX.
I'm expecting the international version with upscaled resolution to 720p/1080p, high-res textures and an updated soundtrack. (and trophies, with possibly some extra trophy related challenges)

Redoing VII would require them to do things that are technologically significant... and by technologically significant I mean that they'd have to spend money making an overworld.
CGI overworld would be GROUNDBREAKING and take rpg's to the next dimension in fun.... problem is it'd take a million years to do so... and about a bazillion dollars.... Square Enix can do it... it just doesn't want to.
Oh far out, FF7 original remake would be so good since I dont have a playstation... Or the CD., would be great to market mainly on PS3 and PSP, (This being because crisis core was on the PSP)

Gotta love Wakka though, didn't take me long to recognize Bender from futurama in his voice
Gotta agree with people here, a FFVII remake would be absolutely glorious. FFX remake is pretty cool, but Square Enix should know that the kids who grew up with FFVII are now old enough to have the money to buy the remake the moment it comes out, which would pretty much guarantee a massive amount of sales. I'd fucking buy it, and I basically don't buy games any more.
But yes, recreating FFVII with today's technology would be a rather large investment, and if Square Enix's current history of milking their franchises with every title they can slap the name onto is any indication, they care about their fans quite a bit less than they would have you think.
Cant bloody wait for this :D :D - im guessing its a few years off but meh, it will be just enough time for it to fade away in my memories and be ready for another mindblowning adventure :3 <3
well, it looks like it will be a HD remake afterall. As for who is correct, I am not sure. Who do you trust more? One of the most core produce team, worked from the very begining of square, Kitase Yoshinori or 2nd CEO in Square and also the producer of FFXIII Shinji Hashimoto
a HD remake probably would come sooner than a complete remake, but I would love to have a complete remake though
My mind will fucking explode if they completely remake FFX.... There are a few more esteemed games in the series that deserve such treatment ahead of a more recent title...
Why X... TT_TT.. I feel like 7 and/or 8 should've gotten this treatment before it, but I guess X is the easiest to remake in HD.. if we could get any remade 6 would probably take highest priority...
Bleh. First X-2 and now this? I liked X, but it was definitely one of the worst FFs, anyone can agree on that. They just picked it because it was the easiest I guess. I'd love to see an all-new 3D FF4 or FF6. Sick of companies repackaging games where 90% of the content is the same and charging full price (*cough Capcom cough*). It's just going to get worse as time goes on, they spend their time on this stuff instead of making quality new releases.
This will be wicked. FF10 was the first final fantasy I played all the way through. I played a bit of FF8 at a friends house and loved it.
I loved the first play through, cause I had no idea what was coming next and the music and scenery where amazing. Going to Luca for the first time I was pumped because it looked so cool. Things like that.
FFX is my favourite FF so I'm so happy they're making a HD remake.

It's a great FF no doubt but every rabid fanboy would have a cry about every little detail for certain. I wouldn't want an FF game like that to get its name dragged through the mud (even though XIII has already done this).

X-2, I can agree with you on, in terms of maybe not being needed for the Series of FF's. However, playing through it wasn't all bad. Once you get through the aspects of it being essentially a dress-up game where the female main characters "change clothes" throughout the game to enable different jobs through FF series like theif, gunner, mage etc.. Then just adding in the accessories and leveling up abilities and some extras then it wasn't TOO much different from other FF's, but definatley an acquired taste and for true fans of FF's types. The music to it, though, was terrible compared to FFX.
Where I can't agree w/ u on, is that FFX was one "of the worst" in the series. Thats obsurd. Besides 7, 10 is prolly the next best i've ever played. The story was absolutely one of a kind, I thought, with tremendous ups n downs and the ending was surprising. Granted, all aspects of FFX weren't amazing. Some of the voice acting that correlated to the facial expressions of the chracters didn't sync up perfectly, voice acting itself was kinda dry at times but it was the 1st of the series to bring about voice acting at all - which was a milestone and has been improved upon through each title. The battle system, although somewhat old (going back to the turn-based system) was still exciting and new with the ability to tag-out to other members, rather than having a set 3 or 4 characters to use, only.. Also adding in the new Aeon ability to have the summons as playable characters rather than just a one-time use animation, an aspect that they have now still employed in other FF's like 12 + 13. The music and scenery about it too, was really well done. They really maxed out the PS2 capabilities even when it was the 1st title to come out on that platform.
So I for one, am fully excited to see, really any FF remade with the graphics of the PS3.

grandia 2, skies of arcadia. Story is not one of a kind. There are differences between them but all 3 are way to similar.

Ok, but the main point of this is it's barely a change. The difference between PS2 and PS3 graphics is so minor that they can't even call it a reworking, it's just a remastering. They take all the same models and render some new textures and shadows, boom! $60 price tag. Are you really going to pay $60 for the exact same game with a one-generation difference in graphics?
10 was good for it's time, but I just hated the script and voice acting. I remember being embarrassed to play it at home because anybody watching would laugh at it (or more specifically, Tidus).
Tried to replay it last year and couldn't get past the opening 15 minutes without turning it off :S
It's a shame, because there were some beautiful scenes and great moments. If the remake lets you turn voice acting off (or better yet gets some half-decent English voice actors) I'd probably play it.
About the earlier Final Fantasy's, I think 9 actually still stands up. 6, 7 and 8 would all be great though - let a new generation see what all the fuss is about.
Fuck this is going to be so awesome. I actually started speed running FFX a few weeks ago without even knowing this existed.
Edit: Also, if I do indeed purchase this the reasoning will be for the ability to play it on a mobile device and with whatever other aesthetic or contextual perks that come with it (skippable cutscenes, please?).
if they do fuckin remake the game, they better put the fuckin dark eons and penance in that shit. I rem my bro max out in ff10 and fuckin no end game bosses to test his might, i youtube and find all these secret bosses in international version wut da fuk
That screenshot looks very similar to the original game(or was it from the original game?) Anyway I would love it if they remade ff6, one of my fav games(loved 9 too!), and ff7 would've made the internetz explode. Dont know why they choose this one instead of the others...the game actually still looks okay.
The ones that look really dated are ff7,ff8 because they came out in that weird transition era from 2d to 3d.
ff 10 always had some sentimental value for me, mainly because of the graphics. seeing those summons when i was 12 was a true visual experience, if nothing else i just though they looked so fucking cool lol. but looking at the game itself, it had some great moments, and I definitely enjoyed it and found it fun to play, but it's definitely not as good as its predeccesors. I think the main problem with it was the linear progression, you really didn't really get to explore shit or run around, even when you got the airship it was literally the end of the game . i much would have prefered 5 or 7 to get the remake instead, who doesn't want to see that 1 minute long ultimate end sequence in epic glorious hd?
