Well, no matter the tickrate, packets (ie. bullets for example) should not be 'forgotten' by the server like that. I'm pretty sure there are just issues with the netcode at this point... More tickrate would be unlikely to help with this issue. Aaaanyways, hopefully they'll at least fix the hitboxes any time soon. That's the minimum they can do. And then Source 2 plz.

I'm still waiting for the day where they make a CS game as on point as 1.6... Why does a game from 2000 and before have a better netcode than a modern game? I can't comprehend that fact.

1.6 netcode wasn't better than cs go, not even close.

Somehow 1.6 was way more on point though and didn't have this whole hitbox/model sync issue, at least not to this extent.

What was the issue with 1.6?

I disagree.

Hitboxes were a lot bigger and a lot less precise in 1.6 which might let it look like it was more on point but there were plenty of issues with the netcode.

With the correct rates and interp with perfect ping the netcode was okay but online you never got that.

When you played with ex_interp 0 ( 1/cl_updaterate ) and other people played with updaterate lower than yours they actually warped like they are playing with 300 ping, making the game unplayable and people hard to hit.
When you played with ex_interp 0.1, something many people did because of the previous issues the hitboxes were lagging quite a bit behind the models. You'd constantly get shot while being already behind a wall.

Hitboxes while crouching or when shooting in the back of someone weren't lined up with the models either.

And this was only in the last few years of 1.6, in the early years and the versions before interp was an even bigger "issue", heck noone actually knew the right settings, some leagues enforced 0.1, others 0.05, other 0.01 etc.

for example

I feel it's a bit of misplaced nostalgia, you see these video's being posted of an awp shot not being registered like once every month and a huge deal is being made of it. In 1.6 that happened 10 times every war without people making a fuss about it. Mostly because people knew reg was flawed and coverage was much smaller, and hltv demo's were usually shit either way.

At least that's what I remember from 1.6, if I had to choose 1 thing that improved from 1.6 to csgo I would say the netcode without even thinking twice :p

Yeah, playing online in 1.6 really was worse than on GO. Having 50-60 ping was a huge disadvantage as far as I was concerned, and playing with 10-20 ping or on lan was like playing a different game; recoil felt much better, the whole game was smoother. However I think that what people are most upset about is that GO isn't a 15 years old game, and one would expect those issues to have been dealt with better. While I'd agree that the netcode is definitely better, the hitbox issues are pretty annoying, especially the crouching one which allows bomb plants to happen when the player should have been hit 10 times. I have no idea how hard it is to fix from a technical standpoint (I suppose it is difficult though, as it's been here forever), but I think it is worth complaining about the problems until they are fixed.
Basing criticism on previous titles helps raising some good points (we ought to know that on a forum originally dedicated to starcraft), but too many people assume older titles were better on every point. (give me 1.6 movement, pistols and SMGs back though)

To close out the netcode debate;

CS:GO is truly a worthy successor of 1.6

I would even go so far as to say that, CS:GO is the best CS as of yet. No doubts, no regrets

I just came across a cheater and I just tilted so hard.... Then I watch his demo but some of the shots are quite possible. He buys his scout almost every round and he can only shoot headshot with them. His crosshair placement is bad and he doesn't see shit on his screen. Yet I am doubting he is cheating or not. He's a pretty bad player regarding awareness and gamesense but not every shot is impossible but every shot with his scout is headshot which makes it sooooo annoying/suspicious. His entry fragging is godlike aswell... #TURNRANTOFF

Who wants to judge?

Dunno if name changes when he changes his name but his name is Sleepie and gets 2 kills in first round on A. And then buys a Scout second round.

I am DMG and even i dont do the mistakes he does during the game, it makes me think that he is doing those stuff on purpose to evade overwatch verdict. He pushes mid stupidly, he sees enemies on screen and does not spot them, he cant dodge nades, he does not buy nades but flashes etc.

There are 4-5 incidents that he plays like he had wh, while he was in combat with an enemy he started to pre aim the positions where the other enemy was about to come, he was not pre-aiming there till the guy starts coming, he could not control his reflexes.

Apart from that, we have tons of moments where he aim-locks, he scopes, then he presses the magic button, boom. For an overwatch its harder to spot a trigger when suspect is scoped in, he probably knows that and bit cautious, at least he aims above shoulder to confuse you. Even KennyS cant dominate pub matches like this with this playstyle.

Reported 2/10 for cheap acting.

VoxE loses their CS team.
Really surprised by this decision, but it can only mean one thing - they're all moving to America/Europe and someone massive is backing them.
They can only do so much in Australia.

I guess this just means that iM will be back to being kings of CS in Australia for the meantime.

If they go to America, I think EG could pick them.

Misfits (League Team) just follow all the players on Twitter. Seems like they are the frontrunners.
Edit: Misfits just changed their name to LA Renegades.

Are there no drops for doing missions in the new operation whatsoever? I remember someone said you get a drop when you upgrade your medal but I did and recieved nothing. What's the point of doing all these shit missions then? Medal only?

You get a drop the first time you rank up at the start of the week (tues/weds). On top of that, you get 1 Falchion case per week.

You'll know you get a drop if it says so next to your in game profile. If you have the operation, it'll say "Bloodhound drop".

Yeah right, but you don't need to do any missions to get either of those drops.
