Hey guys, what is the best set-up to hold Dust 2 as CT? Normally we go:
1 long - 1 site - 1 short (agressive) - 1 mid - 1 b or short guy is also a site. But if long player dies, they are badly exposed. So we switched to 2 long strat, but if mid dies, a site player or b player is in high danger.
And when t's have b spawn, an awper mid is having hard time if b player dies with a rush. They also rush him before A players rotate.
I watched a match and sometimes NIP plays 2 mid, boosting eachother, than one player goes CT spawn to A long or mid to B if needed. Is it a good strat?
Todays b.hurt: A single Nova 3 smurf wiped us all, how can you be nova 3 if you are good enough to bitch-slap MGEs with deagle, scout and tech9. I think there is a portugese company produces cheap hacks, every suspected smurf that i check plays from portugal.
is the A site guy quickboosting the aggressive short guy via the things on the left from CT spawn?
subsequently, is the short guy flashing out mid before peeking out?
depending on your team's economy, there's almost always no reason to not smoke/firebomb B tunnels (as the one B guy going into site), also with a player playing short aggressively the mid guy can play closer to B, such as at the window or doors
There's no one "best" setup. You have to mix it up so that the T's don't know where you're playing or how you're playing exactly every round. Every setup has some sort of weakness to it. Also have to adjust to how the T's are playing too. If they focus a lot on one site, having a balanced setup won't help. Should try to stack the site they keep hitting etc.
Ideally setups should be so that teammates can play off of each other, setup crossfires and not get isolated into 1vX duels against the terrorists.
This is the first vid that comes to my mind that talks about different setups and stuff and explains how they work etc.
A level 3 requirement is relatively low and pretty lenient for Valve. You can get that in a few days depending on how much you play. If you bought the new Operation, the missions also help you get exp, and since you have to play DM/Casual to finish those missions. There's also weekly bonus exp for your first few games of the week (starting on weds) that basically doubles the exp you'd normally get.
Dota2 iirc has like a level 13? or something requirement to even play in their ranked matchmaking. This was a long time coming to prevent brand new accounts (usually by cheaters) to instantly queue up and grind up MM.

Sure but I have already played over 200 competitive matches. This makes no sense to me. And this 10v10 nonsense is the worst of the worst
Doesn't take that long honestly, don't know how to calculate the exp gained but Im pretty sure it's not 40 casual games. Also, just make it fun for yourself, go play pistol only or try to knife people ^^ Negev for that matter

You get experience based on performance so trolling will force you to play more games.
The worst joke is that it's like 10x faster exp gain playing competitive than any other mode
And seriously, 400 win accounts with a few games in the past few weeks shouldn't be told "haha get fucked go suffer before you can play actual counterstrike". I needed less than 10% of a level and a DM match wasn't even enough to get it while my whole stack waited cuz I'm prevented from playing competitive because I didn't play a ton of MM in the past week or w/e. It was actually the stupidest thing ever.
It actually bothered me a lot. If I wasn't already level 2 and 9/10ths I'd probably have never bothered to get level 3 fuck that shit.

Were you just gone for the past 2 weeks or something and didn't play any competitive/missions/CS in general? I'm pretty sure Valve didn't release this criteria immediately so that people COULD rank up to at least 3 in the past couple weeks. Regardless, it should only affect a minority of people, and I think it's just an initial release thing.

I am trashcan but my optimal is, keep 2 in A site one peeking long and one for short. 1 guy peeking mid(cat) without committing a 1v1 awp mid, 1 guy in B doors looking at B tunnel and one in B site. Possible scenarios,
If T press for long, A site guy spots them and prevent them from running to A site by smoking flashes etc. buying time. If he sees bomb or majority of the players, mid runs into CT to defend long and buying more time. B door guy rotates mid and watching rotation. B guys stay there.
If T goes for cat, mid guy inform the team before hand and do the same rotation above. Short guy buying time.
If T rushes mid, mid tries to stall and B door guy support him in case a fast entry. B door guy counter flash if necessary while keeping tabs on B site. A dudes try to hold their positions, maybe small rotations depending on info.
If B rush is executed, B site guy and door guy cross fire with counter flash/nade, mid guy either help directly to B window or hold mid steady depending on info. A guys may rotate depending on the commitment.
tldr, I see no reason to commit one guy long alone unless he is good and a proper weapon to hold. An m4a1s is a recipe for disaster. Committing 2 guys on long is good but spread the defense too thin imo. Eventually 2 long, 1 short, 1 mid , 1 B equals to 1v5 majority of time and will ensure at least a bomb plant.

The thing is that you can't actually play competitive matchmaking in cs otherwise because unlike dota 2 there's no unranked matchmaking to complement the ranked matchmaking system, so you're stuck playing dm/casual/other game modes which are nothing like competitive counterstrike.
I agree with the level 3 requirement being shitty.
I only really play CS with a friend, so even if I was going to grind my way to level 3 doing stuff I find boring as fuck (I don't care about the ranking system, but there's no unranked competitive mode to level grind in) I'd still have to then grind with my friend once a week (normally less, more like every 2-3 weeks for like 3 hours or so) so that he can get level 3 and we can get back to competitive :/.
Probably just done with CS because I hate playing anything that isn't competitive, which is a shame, because I like CS (competitive mode) .
The level 3 requirement is a couple days inconvenience at best - Moaning about it like its the end of the world is laughable with how much benefit it actually offers.
If you play on the evening the weekly bonus resets (tuesday IIRC) you could probably do it in a couple hours lol. I know i was level 2 like 2 hours after the operation was released thanks to the massive bonus it gave.
