The physics are closer to those of left 4 dead 2, very floaty, they fixed this in the new patch but still it feels wrong, not like source nor 1.6. Throwing nades were stupid in 1.6, you could make the nade surf trough a wall a very very long way this does not happens in cs go, the nades feels less floaty than source they fixed them a little. The spray is not like source, its actually pretty hard hitting someone mid distance with a spray, hell its hard to 1-2 shot in burst someone whos far away. I belive in source the guns reached 2600 units, in GO they reach about 1000, this makes the awp GODLIKE at far distances. The maps look similiar because they are exactly the same maps with some texture "revamps" and balanced in some ways that were far unfair in source. For example you cant awp from heaven in nuke so easily because 2 big tubes block the view into squicky wich means its harder to defend for the ct's. I think the balances are pretty ok. I agree on the animation's, they look incomplete and horrible, hell i think the Galil doesnt have an animation yet! remember the game is not finished and almost all the weapons sound like crap and at the same time they sound exactly the same you cant tell them apart unless its an awp or a shotgun they also look the same and the models look like crap (Think about Fps banana skins) Also if you want to play 1.6 just keep playing 1.6 with all the elitist's, source was a very good competitive game until CGS ended. TLDR: The game feels like l4d2 not source.
I haven't been able to get in on the beta yet, so as I said I was just basing what I said off of watching people record videos (I also watched the IEM game of players like fRoD, n0thing, etc playing against the European team on CS: GO).
I was a long time 1.6 player, played up to CEVO-im, and CAL-m back in 2007.. I wasn't very receptive to CS Source being played for CGS, but was okay with it because I'd rather see at least one CS title flourish competitively. Sadly the CGS went to shit :[ I always thought that event had so much promise. It would be interesting to see if anything like it develops for CS: GO, that would be pretty amazing to be honest.

Well I mean... it WILL be a great game. It looks great and it feels decent but the recoil, spread and general accuracy/damage of most guns seems really off. I'm sure Valve will fix it soon though, they've been listening to the community and making changes swiftly and accordingly.

Spraying is just... so weird... >_>

Some thoughts on the guns that are too good
Deagle = fucking imba man, you just put that damn crosshair at the head and shoot away, big chance of getting a headshot (I thought it was more of skill, well it is but I'd say it's more of luck)
Galil = this gun is too good for it's price, I think it's actually better than AK-47 and m4a1. 35 bullets with great accuracy when being sprayed as well as tapping on it is absurd. Maybe a little nerf on this gun would make it balance.
Steyr Aug and Commando = Felt like CS 1.3 to me, I usually right click and spray away with both guns and they're pretty good when you get the first few hits. I think for me they're over powered because they're very accurate in both long/close range.
Anyway, I'm really enjoying this game. As someone who's been in the FPS competitive scene I have good hopes that this over takes the MOBA scene in the Philippines.

Got beta last night (thanks again JosephAM) and it feels nothing like Source or 1.6.
- Deagle is ridiculous overpowered. - Getting shot behind a wall seems like it's worse than Source. - Everything is so dull... Visually, it looks much more like BF3 or COD, not a big fan of this. - Props get in the way and you can't shoot them. - Why can you hear dead people talking? And why is there no mute option? - Scoreboard is a mess, why remove ping and include useless information like awards and score?

Anyone wanna share a key? I've got a little cash or maybe a demonoid invite, huh?
|
Is anyone else here getting some serious crashing problems? I just crashed 3 times in a row... Once during load, once after dying, and another time while trying to buy armour.. It's getting pretty annoying.
|
hacks are already out...oddly enough a group of guys that i was friends with (met in a MMORPG, which they made hacks for too lol). i've only met about 2 people so far that i think were chamming (not aim botting, chamming, if you don't know what that is google it).
so far i enjoy it though

Kinda glad I didnt get an invite yet, just reading the comments I would probably just get angry at valve for throwing away their real chance at bringing back the CS franchise to the fore-front of esports once again.
Instead we get CoD: Global Offensive
fml.

It's not as bad as it was before, at least. I used to crash every 5 rounds or so, it crashes every hour or so for me now... usually when I'm shooting at somebody, or right after the pistol round ends.

Any of you lads can spare a key for a fellow 1.6 nostalgic? D

fml. I do'nt know where you got this "CoD: GO" thing. It's gladly nowhere near CoD. It's just really early in the beta stage, while Valve is still hearing people's complaints as far as movement, recoil, fog, etc goes. It feels pretty much like CSS in the Portal 2 engine.
|
Very much looking forward to this game and I have a good amount of faith Valve will fix the grievances as they are taking a lot of community input into account. Still needing a beta key like most others unfortunately
|
im still looking for a key, if anyone got one that'd be great...maybe start a thread for keys!!
|
Just got an invite, so if I get one I'll be sure to have a give away thread! <3
btw, does anyone have a guesstimate on the price point? This doesn't feel like a 59.99 game...
|
If anyone has a spare key, let me know and tell me what it would take to get it from ya ^^ I quit playing competitively a season before all the esea-i players got betas for free ><

Have you even played CSS? It feels nothing like CSS.
Everything is so dull in this game. If you showed me a screenshot of this game and asked me what game it was, I'd tell you it's a dumb sequel for CoD or BF.
The sound is outright terrible. All the rifles sound the same, footsteps of any kind or distance sound the same, and the bomb sound can barely be heard outside of the bomb site. This game literally has no future if they think that sound is not an important aspect for a game like CS.
Nuke changes make it so one sided and most of the other maps are just worse visually.
The accuracy / recoil in CSGO doesn't even make the slightest sense or there's just no reg on the servers...
Is there an explanation why there is a limitation of a single flashbang and a total of three grenades?
