- Physics etc are the same. - Same game engine - Player models are basically the exact same - Throwing grenades has that same sort of "dumb" feel that it had in source, the nades look the exact same also. - The bomb looks the exact same - The maps look really similar to their versions in cs: source (aesthetics I mean). - The recoil and everything looks identical to source, meaning it still seems to have that "random" sort of feel to it where you can just outplay someone by running and blindly spraying bullets like you could in source - The AWP/Sniper crosshairs are the exact same as they were in source - Also, the M4a1 looks retarded in this new version Just summing up why I don't think CS: GO will do much as a competitive game or get much attention from any prior cs 1.6 pros. Like it pretty much might as well be CS: Source 2.0

Valve released it with maps like dust2 etc in an effort to likely kick-start counter-strike competitively again in a different game and give it a new start.. But honestly from my impressions on the videos I've watched of Global offensive gameplay.. It just seems like a near exact mimic of CS: Source in almost every possible aspect. I do not believe they used d2/aztec/etc as the beta maps to rejuvenate competitive play. I would hazard a guess that it is so that everyone playing the beta would (or should) have experience on the maps they're playing. This allows the players in the beta to spend more time focusing on the new gameplay, graphics, and design, as opposed to the map layout. This will get Valve much better feedback, since complaints will be gameplay related rather than map related (as maps are a community fix anyways as more are made, so is really a rather miniscule problem) Also, found this picture out there, seems to be of the CS:GO hit boxes. If so, this game already looks better than CS:S + Show Spoiler + ![]()

While CS:GO doesn't look great in it's current state, the dev team seems to be very receptive and they're adjusting the game based on whatever the 1.6 purists are currently complaining about. Also, what I also see that what a lot of whiners don't seem to realize is that the Source engine is almost entirely modular, they even got the engine to play almost exactly like Warcraft 3 for Dota 2. People are always saying things like "oh, it's on the same exact engine as CSS (not realizing that it's actually a later iteration of the engine), all hope is lost." Fortress Forever, a Source engine game, plays almost exactly the same as Team Fortress Classic, a GoldSRC game, so just because it's on a newer engine doesn't mean all hope is gone. While I agree that the game in is current state is pretty bad, have some faith. Considering how responsive the devs are with their updates, it could be a really good game when it comes out.

Also Riot's success with LoL as an esports has not gone unnoticed by Valve and we can expect to see them investing into the esports scene exponentially with both CS:GO and DotA 2 as their competitive gaming titles (The $1,000,000 DotA 2 tournament being a start).

I'd like to see for myself if the game has potential. Looks so much like CSS and it'll probably also feels like CSS.

The physics are closer to those of left 4 dead 2, very floaty, they fixed this in the new patch but still it feels wrong, not like source nor 1.6. Throwing nades were stupid in 1.6, you could make the nade surf trough a wall a very very long way this does not happens in cs go, the nades feels less floaty than source they fixed them a little. The spray is not like source, its actually pretty hard hitting someone mid distance with a spray, hell its hard to 1-2 shot in burst someone whos far away. I belive in source the guns reached 2600 units, in GO they reach about 1000, this makes the awp GODLIKE at far distances. The maps look similiar because they are exactly the same maps with some texture "revamps" and balanced in some ways that were far unfair in source. For example you cant awp from heaven in nuke so easily because 2 big tubes block the view into squicky wich means its harder to defend for the ct's. I think the balances are pretty ok. I agree on the animation's, they look incomplete and horrible, hell i think the Galil doesnt have an animation yet! remember the game is not finished and almost all the weapons sound like crap and at the same time they sound exactly the same you cant tell them apart unless its an awp or a shotgun they also look the same and the models look like crap (Think about Fps banana skins) Also if you want to play 1.6 just keep playing 1.6 with all the elitist's, source was a very good competitive game until CGS ended. TLDR: The game feels like l4d2 not source.
