"Wilson also discussed the upcoming Beyond League in some detail, which is one of the new Challenge Leagues added with Forsaken Masters. Players in the Beyond League will have to deal with a race of extradimensional demons invading Wraeclast. When you kill monsters in close proximity to one another, small portals start to open; get enough of those open together, and a larger portal opens up, spawning more powerful monsters. If those happen close together, an even larger portal opens up, complete with a unique boss that's designed to be extremely difficult to kill.
The design team is particularly proud of this league, largely because it keeps the tension high but also puts control firmly in the player's hands. You can pull and kill more carefully to try and avoid big encounters until you're ready for them, or you can pull larger groups in hopes of getting the event to start and reaping the rewards. It also lets players potentially survive longer by having the tools to adjust their experience based on how they're doing. Sure, you'll need to face the big bosses eventually, but you won't round a corner and run into them immediately."

That sounds like a much better designed version of invasion actually.
It also sounds like it punishes offscreening and huge aoe explosion characters that can't handle single target.
I like it tbh. I really wanna know what the rewards for killing these mobs are though and I'm not clicking on a joystiq link lol

lol^^ which is why i quoted the part where he actually talks about the new league, the rest is just shit about the new Bow Master, Tora.
But yes, im actually ok with this new league, be able to control how hard you want the confrontation to be is preety cool. Similar to Strongboxes, which you could roll to be easy or hard, you can be conservative at 1st, and when you get more confortable, go for the harder encounters and maybe get some sick looooooots. Im seriously so hyped for the 20th, fuckkkkk hurry up!

And fucks up every burn ele prolif build. But well i hope they tweaked it so we wont get fucked by random public guys again who just decide to vaal cyclone.

I don't think it'll fuck you THAT hard. Hell the mobs u kill may prolif to the portal demons who knows.

speaking of bow builds, I am very unfamiliar with them. What are some good builds/concepts to follow?
Bows seem to just have crap dps compared to other weapons -_-

is it really 400? ~200 is easily playable tho.
i normally play HC but since its a new patch have no qualms playing sc just to test things, stuff like the skills (sick ice buffs) and the revamped boss fights.

Well playing on a laptop, im sure its expected to have some frame drops once inna while. And yeah looks like ice skills are going to be good again, im thinkin of doing a freeze pulser for next league.

Thinking about Stun/Bleed/Freeze/Burn I think I'll rather make a Life based char, lol. Summoners are OK with CI without Chayula and stuff, but I don't think I'll play one 'cause the auras got nerfed and the aura gem supposedly doesn't work for minions.
So I'll likely play something like Leap Slam (with Staff+Crit? lol gotta be fun but perhaps suicidish), Cleave or a Phys bow char (without crit or with; no idea but with crit i think reflect is gonna be hurtful and you have less points for life).

eh when she spawned a ton of those onscreen my fps drop to single digit, no other area does that other than,playing coward's trial without devouring/DD.
freezepulse and especially ice spear is pretty good now for levelling. it was hilarious seeing weaver get permafrozen while its trying to go back up the ceiling
curses start off with 24%/9.9s instead of the old 30%/9.0s. so its still not so bad there...

I will try to either make EB-MoM(150%hp/150%ES ezpz) characters or just go plain CI.
Lifebased without MoM now seems so squishy but well those things will be figured out with the live-version i guess.

Sad thing about this is CI gears get expensive again. I did enjoy the period when they were dirt cheap in Ambush (by prev standard)

Might even do a crit EK Life/ES hybrid Shadow. Could be legit after the patch. I manage to reach about 90-100% life and ~130% ES (plus INT) and still get the most of the physical/projectile dmg as well as cast speed and crit nodes.

You have to invest in chaos res then though. Going with relatively low life and -chaos res would be suicide.
