Apart from having to juggle rampage stacks with 4 Writhing jars, it could be done with no danger at all. Did not even die, and I think only 2 void anomalies spawned during third phase. If you guys want a cheap league starter for next league, look no further! Can easily be done on a 5-link (4 link too, you aren't hitting much yourself) | ||

Yeah I believe you're right. I'm still not entirely sure if cospris is better than a higher base crit weapon overall. I have this feeling in the back of my mind that mass double corrupting cospris for base crit chance and ele pen is the winning choice here. 18% crit on the implicit makes it a 6.49% chance, which should make ascendant with acuities + slayer a viable option. Assassin kind of stinks later on, not enough hp, not enough leech, just gets blown up. | ||

Yeah that 100/40/40 guy's thread is what got my wheels spinning at first. I did BV Elementalist in 3.3 and really enjoyed it so BV was already on my mind but Chieftain switches it up enough that I don't feel like I'm replaying an identical build. I like the idea of Witch BV mule more than playing sunder all the way to act 3. I don't despise Sunder or anything but a quick blitz to Caverns of Wrath with Witch isn't so bad. Fossil crafting (esp Scorched) helping to get some juicy Shaper maces also helped sell me on the idea. I was worried stuff like that would be prohibitive when it comes to SSF but people have really done some work determining how to optimize rolling/crafting with fossils and all. Hopefully with no significant changes a lot of those same rules and tricks still apply. Really excited for all these big league mechanics going core simultaneously. I don't even really know what the Betrayal mechanics ARE, basically going in blind, yet it's probably the most excited I've been for a league in ages just because of all the other changes with regards to old things going core, master changes, etc. | ||

In some ways, the lovely skill Flicker Strike is quite similar in that it is move to a location and hold a button and enjoy the ride. But it's really not similar. | ||

So you're not using the Doryani's Touch skill, but just the bonuses to unarmed for zappy Smites to buff your Dancing Duo? And you don't need reduced flask charges from the belt or Arcane Chemistry on the tree to manage rampage on bosses in separate arenas/phases? Re-reading some of the Veiled mods while waiting for patch notes - +1 curse on body armour and physical damage converted to fire on gloves will be juicy for SSF if they're not Farrul-levels of rarity (and even if they are, it's something to grind towards) - never had the balls to Vaal decent amulets in SSF =p Also, if there's enough hotkey space, hopefully there's enough different Focus skills to give most builds some interesting utility. | ||

You could use Melee Splash support on anything purely single target like Heavy Strike or Frenzy or something, but the aoe from that alone is usually pretty miserable. Abilities like Cleave/Sweep are more "pure melee" than Reave, but I'm not sure where you're drawing the line. Frenzy or something that's just raw "hit target and nothing else" + some combination of Melee Splash + Multistrike + Ancestral Call (and a few extra dmg supports) might give you the feel you're looking for, but it's not going to be that good lol. | ||

Yes, correct! This was my league started for Delve, but it ripped to standard through some Delve shenanigans - so I never got to complete the character. Wanted to try how it went against high tier bosses before any passive respecs happen and I can't bother speccing it out again. Initially I wanted to do a complete Dominus cosplay, using the Doryani's touch and having the Smite for aura + triggering fortify. The mana cost turned out to be way to much with the skill, and the -30% less attack speed was really bad when clearing maps at high speed. I think the damage potential for DT is off the charts though, with it's 250% multiplier of additive damage. A non-linked DT costs 28 mana, and my 5-linked smite costs 18 mana... For mapping you just need one worm flask, and you will never run out of rampage stacks. Without flask effect you need 4 flasks (two uses) to start rampage, hence why I used so many for shaper. You could swap out two once the rampage has started though. Other than that I had no issues for any bosses. I think the only time you would need two would be Lava Lake Kitava fight - but that's getting changed. Clears faster than Evo - check Cheap - check Fun - check Really really fast run speed - check Templar unarmed animation with high movement speed = casual stroll in the park on speed - check check check | ||

I'm not sure the 100% increased crit chance is worth missing out on ailments for, but maybe so. I guess without Elementalist minimum effectiveness, you're not going to be inflicting big shocks or chills on bosses, so unless you're going ignite it's probably good. | ||

Honestly I think inquisitor could be really good if you could somehow get a good energy shield pool for coc, but I also think that you're verging on like 200ex here. | ||
