Yeah lots of people seem to be doing it (or did it) for HH as well, so I'll probably look for some guides for those specific chase uniques and just extrapolate it to the ones I'm looking for.

I'm pretty sure the change made the item even more abusable since you now have 4 seconds of insane life recovery with high mana cost rather than just an instant heal, as long as you make sure your mana doesn't refill completely and stop the flask early.

Ok, I got my 24 challenges done in Bestiary and for me it is basically done. I have been playing Standard more in last two weeks anyways and will continue to do so for a while (got whole atlas unlocked there and some masters at lvl 8). Bestiary was a big disappointment for me, it had some value for SSF people but otherwise a bust.
On the other hand, last patch finally fixed CI for Berserkers. Maybe time to make one
Bit late to it, but managed to kill Uber Elder myself now. Used a pure Tornadoshot Deadeye for it and went much better than expected (failed my first 2 tries tho, learning the fight) Here is my PoB if anyone is interested : https://pastebin.com/g58uVZpc
Nice to know that you don't HAVE to use the boring builds or cheese with Kaoms Roots.
I feel like the fight is hard enough that no strategy can justifiably be called cheese. Although I haven't kept up with how easily the best builds kill him these days so I could be wrong.

Certainly is difficult, cheese is meant more in regards to it making the fight way easier compared to without. Its infinetely more difficult to dodge all the shaper balls/beams/teleport slams , Ice spears and co when you have slowed debuff on ya, than when you got kaoms roots and can just quickly shield charge away.
(definetely big change for attack or caster based builds, if uber elder was my plan for an endgame goal I'd definetely plan Kaoms Roots as a main focus of my gear)

Oh really, no cheese possible on uber elder? How about an afk sleep build clearing twinned uber elder barely moving at all?
So I finally went and killed uber elder with my indigon zerphis poets pen build. Took like 4 sets of attempts then on 5th I killed it with 2 portals to spare. I got the staff and a ridiculous watchers eye. Hatred conversion and hatred crit. And minus spell cost with clarity. I was going to use it on an alt I wanted to try but decided to price check it. Apparently the cheapest one with the double hatred is 250 ex, jesus christ.
The problem with all these sweet rework news posts from GGG is that they are killing my hype for the flashback league since all the balance changes won't hit till 3.3.
Ignite changes sound interesting but in practice they won't make the ailment attractive as a damage dealing option in most cases, only as a damage increase to regular hits via combustion resist reduction etc.
Elementalist pizzablast noncrit may be back though. I'd be interested to hear how they justify a 1to1 reversion of the pizzablast ailment DMG nerf. I'm glad they did, but their point of "why even ignite as any other skill" is still valid lol.
Im having some theory fun and try to think about ssf builds for unpopular ascendancies; guardian, assassin, saboteur etc.
If skill effect duration works with bastion (guardian) then it seems duration skills that hit often like firestorm or blade vortex should be nice. Maybe survivability from temp chains or poacher or warlords, on top of up to 3+ sec duration immortal calls...
Had a test run in SSF to see how levelling a Ranger towards Mirror Arrow/Blink Arrow Deadeye summoner would be, and it's pretty rough (though becomes a lot more pleasant after doing normal lab ~L38 and dropping bow playstyle for summoner playstyle) - can imagine it'd be a lot rougher in the flashback race w/Invasion bosses / rogue exiles / etc gumming up the works.

You have a bigger supply of good bows and jewelry tho.
Because some flashback mods are considered more valuable than others, the exploit was to open say 20+ different instances of the templar lab and open a map with good hourly mods in each of them. When the hourly mods rotated, you'd still have 20+ maps with the older, better mods. Hideout mapping only allows one map instance per hideout and it's difficult to generate more hideout instances
The vaal skill news is the best one so far in regards to the new league. Looks pretty cool, especially Vaal Double Strike sounds nuts now. I hope they also buff Dual Strike or add Vaal Dual Strike, otherwise there's little reason to use that one, especially since they buff Double Strike's damage against bleeding targets.
If I play Flashback, then it'll likely be SSF or SSFHC.
I was also thinking about doing SSF flashback. I enjoyed my SSF Necro a few weeks ago, got to lvl 80+ before I got busy with life stuff again. Main reason I'm thinking about SSF again is because I'm leaning toward frostbolt totems hiero and that's a super cheap build without much unique dependence.
I haven't decided for sure but I know that even if I don't go SSF, I'm not gonna be selling a lot of shit. The convenience of buying some stuff in a pinch once in a while since it's only a month long or whatever might be nice, but I'm not doing the intense market and trading thing. Too time consuming. I'll just play and use whatever currency I make naturally to scrounge up some cheap rares when I need to.
The SSF / minimal trading approach is really nice. It's just refreshing, more focus on playing at your own pace.
Yeah I'm considering SSFHC just because I don't expect to beat the no-lifers/streamers/pro-racers/whatever. And I'd probably just want to go at my own pace anyway.
Might try for berserker or guardian since I figure those will be relatively unpopular, and I could maybe luck into a placing by just staying alive long enough. Don't really know any hc league start builds for those though lol. Could maybe just build berserker like a worse sunder champion?
