I am 99% sure I deleted it during a character purge since I don't care about normal Standard/HC, but I said I would keep an eye out for it.
The next zone I dropped a regular Cloak of Flame and almost died laughing. I found mine in an old forgotten tab in HC. I also got whispered a few days ago from a guy who msg'd me to get some alt art a couple months ago.
If it's the same guy, it seems likely he's either building a collection, or RMTing them. He built a list from all the races, and seemed to know the value of pretty much all the items with unique 3d art.

Or he is hoarding alt arts just like me waiting for the day ggg will release alt art to skin transfer mtx Soon™™™™™™™™™

On the other hand I move at a rate of knots and can full clear an underground sea in 2-3 minutes, selling excess alch orbs for exalts. Just by the way, you get slightly more then one suvivalist div card per map, on average, if you run the above quant + 2 sextants and alch + chis + vaal all your underground seas. That translates into roughly 1.5 chaos per map bonus in div cards, which is quite nice as doing 50 maps nets you roughly 75 in return in my experience, and each map is 4c to sell. If you do shaped armoury as well as your t14 you can sell them for 10c a pop, and I get approximately 10 per 50 underground seas that I do, equaling 200c in sales per 50maps before literally anything else.
I estimate that I am making approximately 100c an hour all up. Next is to get a tempest binding, and then a headhunter. As soon as I hit 95 I'm switching back to shaped armoury as I get approximately 1% exp per map, which sucks balls.
Notable drops I've had are:
2x biscos (why couldn't this be last league) 1x Koams heart 1x Belly of the beast 1x Lioneyes fall 1x Exalt
I've died 4 times, but that's the wanding life, I also feel like my rng has been attrocious. I run 0 quantity and 0 rarity and I got 4 ex so far. But I don't drop maps even with full chisel, alch (and I chaos maps until I get 20+ % pack size) and usually 1 sextant (and sometimes I also use that random Zana mod).
|
How do you not drop maps?
I chisel all my maps I want to sustain to 20%, alch it, remove any shit mods from the pool then vaal them, remove any shit mods from the pool again (sell), and then run them with 3 sextants. If I get something super juicy like "area contains hunted traitors" I'll run it with beyond (if I want loot/exp) or bloodlines if I want maps + 3 sac frags.
I just did 30 shaped underground seas and ended up with 49 maps and more then 100 extra alch orbs.
I'm going to go back to shaped armoury I think, the xp penalty feels so bad atm.

I guess I am unlucky. Also I only got most t11 and few t12 finished on atlas. Plan was to run only Caldera as only t13 (and later buy t14 maps to continue moving upwards) but I cannot even sustain t12 maps and I am soon going to run out of t11 as well. I will try to run some uber labs then and hope to get some maps that way and if not, quit the league.
I hate trading in PoE, I will not let this game make me do something I don't like just to play it. Edit: by that I mean I will not be forced to buy maps, sextants and shit just to be able to play more maps.

Despite ssf the entire game is based around trading. Also, try and learn the mechanics of elder and shaper influence, and in particular how to get permanent elder influence. It's the most op thing in the game for making currency while mapping, i think it's about 4 sextants worth of value sometimes.

That would also force me to buy a shit ton of maps and hope it does not frack me up randomly (like it did last league). At least last league I was motivated by wanting to fight Elder on all 3 tiers, this league I got zero motivation do frack around with another random and irritating mechanic.
When is Maelstrom of Chaos coming back to the game No, I am not talking about unique map.

So I just hit 70 with an Aspect of the Crab Shield Spectral Throw character. I think I really like the skill mechanically, but the damage is just so weird to scale that I'm not sure how I'll make it in maps. I want to use a straight phys setup with brutality, bloodlust, and maim (since I'm a gladiator), but I can't figure out what main hand weapon to use with it.
The Aspect of the Crab set (Helm + Chest + Boots anyway) feels really good if anyone's wondering. Assuming you got boots saying you only lose 5 crab barriers when hit, you always have between 20% and 30% base phys damage reduction, 8% block, and ~25% of block as spellblock on top of pretty good armor. It's like a way better Arctic Armor. And the life on those pieces isn't even that bad if you can get good flat life elsewhere.
It does suck trying to get off colors on the chest, unfortunately.

Yeah, I'm pathing to Iron Grip for sure and testing out PB once I have a few more passives to play with. Doon was tempting me this morning, but I don't think I have the strength to justify it-with my low 250 strength it's only ~30% global increased phys and I think there's better options than that (Far Shot from Trolltimber, something like Daresso's Passion if I decide to drop Blood Rage, even Ewar's purely for the free chain).
The nice thing is they're all like 1 alch so I can just try them all!

Ewar's is for the 55% ele dmg with attacks bonus on top of a chain which can be nice for clearing spread out stuff. but you're playing brutality right so eeh.. prismatic eclipse has some global attack speed which is cool.
I played a bit of shield throw to about 40, decided I didnt like it enough to continue. Playing a little quill rain right now.

It is not worth going into templar if you are not going to grab MoM on the way.

Redid my atlas a bit, ditched underground sea as it was no longer rewarding, picked up armoury, and then decided to make a ring which got both. Luckily the elder obliged and placed himself in a viable location.

Currently I think learning how to properly influence the map with elder/shaper is more powerful for money then anything we've had in a while, certainly as strong as multiple sextants, and with far less effort in the long run. That elder ring will never, ever disappear, so long as I dont run the two t15s and Dungeon. I have no intention of doing either.

Once elder spawns does it continue to spread on maps by itself or with your help?

Yes, up to a total of 30 maps.

I got a question about chill. If I understand correctly, any damage from a hit that deals cold damage will chill. If so, Hypothermia is very strong for most builds, isn't it? Yet I rarely see people use it in their (PoB) builds.
|
So I was enjoying the crab set so much I didn't realize until yesterday looking at my defenses screen that boots/gloves/chest gives free stun immunity along with bleeding immunity. That's some QoL stuff right there.
I not coincidentally discovered that the main damage component of Malformation Piety's blood degen beam is not bleeding and does more than 8K physical damage in its first tick. Bummer.

Assuming no chill effect, you'll chill enemies as long as your cold damage from a given hit after their resistances is more than 1/33rd of their total maximum life, which can be a bit of a tall ask for non-cold builds since almost everything takes 33 incredibly quickly delivered hits to kill a boss (the only place DPS matters) and the post-res cold damage comes nowhere close to that.
Elementalist builds that take advantage of "always chill by at least 10%" should basically always use hypothermia if they don't have a bigger more multiplier gem, though.
