I just have no idea what this desyncing stuff is about. It's never happened to me. Gameplay is always smooth (or at least 99% of the time). Whenever I died was because I got careless. I just hope the game will go open soon so I could play with my friends, cause we've been waiting for months

Arena PvP is hardly what appeals to people about this game compared to other similar games. To me and many others the cutthroat league is why we are playing this game. I couldn't care less about Arena PvP.

Arena doesn't strike me as "real pvp" seems too artificial, real world pvp leagues such as cutthroat is what I'm really looking forward to most in this game, playing along with people then at the drop of the hat stabbing them in the back over loot or just because I feel like it ^ ^

From what I understand pvp is appealing to only a minority. The real draw is still the pve-world. Some like the leveling-competitions, some like cutthroat and some like arena, but none of these groups would likely play if the basic pve of the game was not good!

I'm tempted to start a hc dual wield claw shadow, going for Chaos Inoculation and Ghost Reaver, after the migration (although I might still play it even if I die to see how the build feels) but I have three questions. The first one is whether or not it's worth to invest in some str and %hp nodes to increase my stun threshold (as it's calculated using the life you would have without CI). The second one is when should I get CI/GR. From my limited experience so far (lvl 36ish bow ranger) I believe I should not rush for CI until I get enough ES to feel comfortable. My last question would be if the native life leech from claws gets converted thanks to GR, or should I look to daggers instead (since those and bows/wands are the only weapons a Shadow can easily enhance).

1: It is not worth it. However, increased block/stun recovery mods will be very worth it. Also, if you are going CI then you will probably use BR (Blood Rage) also. You will likely grab the frenzy charge node near the shadow start, but if you go south from there to grab the second frenzy node then you will pass by the Crystal Skin cluster, which might be very useful to you, and there are some anti-stun nodes a little further on near to the range start location.
2. I would grab CI and GR during act 2 cruel or act 1 ruthless. By then you will have enough of the ES recovery delay passives etc. CI greatly benefits from +quality on armour items, so it is probably worth trying to save up orbs and then improving the quality of your items once you take CI.
3. The implicit leech from claws gets converted to ES by GR.

Due later this year...At least the year is almost over I guess.

Looking at their progress, I don't think they will get it out this year, lol. The beta has been around for how long now? I have a feeling that most of the die-hard fans are going to get bored at this game by the time they release it.

I have a feeling that most of the die-hard fans are going to get bored at this game by the time they release it. Die-hard fans have already spent at least 10$ to get a beta-key. Many have paused their playing and wait for open beta and Act 3 to come. Act 3 is being pushed as an almost 50% increase in the content (unspecified). That is very significant in and of itself! With the next big patch - and last/second last big patch - before open beta we should see pvp-arenas. Pvp-arenas and act 3 are huge incentives to play the game again for most players. They really should be able to push it through before christmas, given how their sideprojects are finishing up. If not, it is no big deal for most players since the open beta has been pushed so many times already! They have gone Blizzard and beyond on the soon and almost already, so might as well!

how much of this game is open world (end game)? i mean will there be people grouping & farming in a massive open world, allowing pk interaction
or is it much less of an open pk mmo and more of an instanced dungeon diablo?

The game is instanced like Diablo, however they have the concept of 'Leagues' were different rules apply. One such rule is called 'cut-throat' and allows people to invade all instances and kill people who drop their items on death. The maximum amount of players in a cut-throat instance so far has been 12, with a maximum group size of 6.
There have only been a couple of cut-throat tests and every test something has been changed, so I cannot exactly say what will happen on release, but it has been extremely fun so far.

On an unrelated note, I know this is probably a stupid-as-fuck question, but I'm really interested in playing this and willing to spend $10 on it. If I drop the $10, can I download it right this second and begin playing?

Yes, $10 gets you instant access.
