I take it essence drain is endgame viable? What ascendancy options are there? Actually, I have a question. What resources do you guys use to make your builds? I've almost exclusively just copied some YouTube build or something before, and I think I'm ready to start experimenting my own | ||

As for Essence Drain your main options for CI are Occultist >> Trickster > Scion imo, for life versions you're *mostly* looking at slightly weird combos like RF ED Trickster. Those aren't well explored right now, especially keeping the new Mind over Matter in mind. It's viable all the way up to Shaper and is traditionally a bosser more than a super speedy build. Variants with a bow for Caustic Arrow on weaponswap should also be considered, just to have a bit more oomph for bosses. This guide is probably the most solid around for 3.0 as of now but there is definitely some wiggle room on how to execute the build exactly. | ||

I tried Blight Totems on my standard character yesterday.. it is terrible just like Flame Surge. While Flame Surge totems do decent damage but have terrible AoE , Blight totems have good AoE but take way too long to ramp up its damage vs even white enemies. It was giving me cancer to play that build lol even for that 1 hour :D Now I am afraid Firestorm totem will have a similar problem with needing 2 seconds or more to just kill white enemies and also not that great AoE. Maybe I should try Vortex totems or something... Or Frostbolt totems (with zero investment in totem passives) and self cast Ice Nova. If there was a debuff channeling skill for Cold (like Wither or Scorching Ray) that would work wonders. Can you imagine. You put a totem that fires Frostbolts and you channel something that debuffs and casts Ice Novas at same time that hit everything that totem fires at :D When I first read Frostbolt description I went to make a Frostbolt+cast on crit strikes+Vortex build until I read that cast on crit strike does not work with spells.... why GGG??! Why ![]() | ||

Why ![]() You can take a look at this Cauteriser Bladefall Totem Chieftan, should be solid, tanky and decent dps.
