I'm gonna copy this from a reddit PM I sent but you should get the idea:
Method 1:
* Get +2 to Bows and a random suffix. * Regal, if it hits suffix proceed, if not scour and restart. * Add Catarina can't roll attacks mod (1ex) * The bow is now +2 prefix and 3 suffixes * Exalt for +1 Gems, remove Cata suffix, add Leo DoT craft
Total Cost: 2ex, 1scour, alts/regals/scours for the basic crafting. ___ Method 2:
* Get +2 Bows with *no* suffix * Add Catarina mod (1ex) * Regal. It can hit +1 to bows *or* a non-attack suffix. * If we hit a suffix, exalt the bow for +1 or another non-attack suffix. * If we hit +1 with either regal or exalt, remove cata mod, add leo mod.
Total cost: ~230 alts average, 1 regal - 1-3ex for crafting. ____ The idea with the second is that it's either really cheap or has a way higher chance of getting resist suffixes cause we can't roll them as attack mods.
There is a 3rd method that should be mentioned (Serleth uses this one for his bow, google his guide if you're into PA MF) but it'd cost you 5+ ex for guaranteed resists. I'd probably only use that on a Marketh base, but even then Method 2 + selling ones that don't hit a resist could be cheaper in the long run, assuming you can get more bases.
Method 3:
* Take a white bow * Mastercraft a suffix (which will turn it blue) * Regal * If necessary, scour and repeat 2 & 3 until you get +2 bow gems (it has to be +2 bow gems, can't be +1 all gems)
At that point, you will have a rare bow with +2 bow gems and a mastercrafted suffix. Which you then bench-scour with Tora's bench, which will leave you with a rare bow that has just +2 bow gems.
* Then multimod (Elreon) * Then "Cannot Roll Attack Mods" (Catarina) * Then mastercraft a random suffix / random prefix so you only have one prefix left * Exalt +1 * Use a master to bench-scour (remove crafted mod) so you're left with just a +2/+1 bow * Then multimod again and mastercraft two resistances on it to make gearing everything else easier, and of course Leo's DoT mod

i dont remember if i did enough challenges, i stopped playing the previous league pretty early. i think my name is blurrycurry, but not sure lol.
|
"curryflurry" with character "ExiledLivesMatter" has 6 challenges so if thats u ur fine.
|
ya thnks
i thought you were talking about like getting a piece of the totem pole thingy or whatever which needed some number of challeges. clearly its been too long and idk whats going on. wow im such an overachiever /s
given that this is boxbreaking league, im definitely going to run herald of thunder. gotta decide what to build it with though.

TL guild has 1 person with 28 and 2 with 21 challenges, I'd kinda expected more lol.
Also looking at guild page where's my guild achievements wtf xd
|
i think this league had really bad burnout, there wasn't enough new content to keep people interested and talismans were super grindy
next should be better
|
The portal effect for 36 looks amazing but 36/40 is going to be nutso insane grind I expect.
Doesn't help that I'm looking at hardcore this league (well, until I die xd i'm so bad)

next should be better You think so? I'm not sure... I honestly doubt Perandus league will be more interesting than Talisman from what I've seen so far, I expect the dude to almost always sell rare and unique crapitems. I guess it will depend on how well the gold chests are guarded and how much variety there is with those chests.
But sure, the Ascendancy classes will be nice, and maybe the enchantments/labyrinths will be fun for a while. I'm just not expecting very much from the Perandus league itself. Talismans were grindy for sure, even more so in party. I'm shocked they didn't do anything in that regard for the whole league (aside from adding more T1 talismans, lol).

Wow... I got 18 (and several other ones almost done) without even trying to get them... I mean I literally got them by accident :O
|
GGG said that they wanted a good portion of them to simply occur if you played enough without targetting them. Some of them (Identify all the new uniques xd) obviously don't fall under that category.
I assume next league at least 15 will just happen, 10 or so more will be like "oh if I do this useless thing I can get that done for like 5c or 30 mins" and the last 10-15 will be strongly end-game or wealth gated.
I got 21 last league without quite a few ones that I could certainly have gotten without issue if the payoff was there. 28 was probably still a bit out of reach, or at least out of motivation.

Yeah the Labyrinth and the new classes are actually really big, grinding through the same 4 acts 3 times per character was just mind numbing. Perandus seems like a better RNG loot pinata than the grind of talismans.

I liked the Talismans in theory but in practice it just didn't work out too great. It also somewhat limited build choices, IMO, because you were somewhat foolish to not run a powerful talisman as your ammy. So unique ammy builds were kind of out the window.
|
Rigwalds curse was a hella fun ammy it's a shame it's going basically legacy
Beyond that, the only really cool thing about talisman is the 100% lightning to fire greatwolf uniques imo. OP as fuck of course, triviallizing uber, but very cool.
and uh, talismans needed to be 3 to trade up or only able to drop rare or craftable or SOMETHING to not blow as much as they did.

|
well, perandus can sell legacy stuff so legacy isnt quite as damning as it used to be
|
I'll also remember Talisman for it's insanely overpowered chaos conversion skills. Fire -> Chaos conversion Firestorm trap with Bino's. Map bosses die in like 3 seconds.

and I'd be surprised if unique talismans could pop out although if they could... that'd be pretty insane. Feels like talismans have drop restrictions that might preclude that though (like atziri uniques etc).
PS the teased perandus mansion map sounds super cool.
