Tevez that was outscored by Rooney consistently,
Tevez scored 9 more goals than rooney last season and was pretty much the definition of a one man team offensely
Suarez (this is the point when i realize your a Liverpool fan) who has potential but hasn't preformed well enough or long enough to be considered even top 10 int he world atm
Im not a liverpool fan but if they get into europe this season he'll be the reason. he was also what turned their season round last year and was the best player at the copa america
the rest are just forwards i would rather have in my team than rooney

Rooney practically carried utd for the past 2 seasons, and has destroyed Milan at Milan, city and arsenal as well as putting in brilliant performances against Chelsea over the years. Hes also an all round footballer, he never has been been an all out striker, the fact he filled that role in the 2009-2010 season just shows how good he is.
If you compare him to Fàbregas, hes scores almost 3 times as many goals, and has almost as many assists per game, despite the fact hes had worse luck with injuries than fab and the team has been built around him too.

i find it completely ridiculous you're trying to compare fabregas to rooney using goals/assists. they play in vastly different roles.

They're all good players! Awesome, sorted.
Btw; GTR, Are you playing SC2M and regularly in the Lvl1 Teamleagues, I feel like i've played you a few times recently (HTF).

alongside the 4 you've mentioned i'd say Ozil, Vidic, Tevez, Suarez, Snejider, maybe Busquets, Villa, sanchez, E'too if he was still playing in italy, even forwards like di natale and cavani I'd rather have in my team than rooney
Rooney is way better than Ozil, and this is coming from an Ozil fan. Pretty much the only player from Madrid I would have liked/would like for my team (Barça). The guy has potential but he hasn't proved much yet.

rooney being top 3-5 offensive players in the world sounds about right. only ronaldo/messi are clearly better at somewhat similar positions. there are some others you can argue are better players in general, but no other "strikers" have performed at a higher level for the past 3 years. if you put midfielders and defenders into the equation then you can argue he's not as high, but it's pretty impossible to compare players playing different positions. (hell, even players playing the same ones. )

and now...bring into the equations the sa players not yet playing in eu,and you can say rooney is top 10 OFFENSIVE player calibre, but nowhere near top 10 player
|
All of these comparisons are pretty silly given that I doubt that casual observers simply can't watch enough games to make informed decisions on who is a higher caliber player. Especially when listing 'top 10' players, most of the people making the lists have only seen some of those players play once or twice in a Champions League game or through a highlight reel (which is never an accurate indicator of a player's true skill. There's no way to make that judgment unless you have seen sufficient number of games where that specific player has played. In the end those judgments are based on hype and the words of other people.

Rooney is the Idra of football
|
Rooney had a bad season last year but no one's ever doubted his ability. I don't think it's a stretch to say he's the most complete attacker in world football aside from Messi. The entire United attack runs through him, he holds up the ball, distributes, scores goals from inside and outside the box, scores the spectacular goal once in a while, tracks back to defend whenever needed. He never stops running, never gives up, is always the most passionate player on the pitch. Aside from the negatives, usually the indiscipline that results from his temper, which he has improved on a lot since the beginning of his career, and the surprising off the pitch drama that happened last season, he is the perfect player, and is leaps and bounds ahead of any other attacking player in the premiership.

Rooney is a great player and really the only one we can call truly world class in the England team. That said, ever seen him try to flip in celebrating a goal? Awesome.
I would rate him better than Tevez, but only just. For me they play very similar roles and have a similar build. Ronny and Messi play differently, can dribble better and create more. They also have a bigger bag of tricks than Rooney. But you'll see Rooney run back 60 yards chasing the ball in the 85th minute, which is a bit of a rarer thing to see from Ronny, and I've never seen Messi do it to my knowledge. Rooney plays his heart out and gives 110 almost every game. It was a bit sad to see him faltering so much last year when he was obviously not match fit, but Utd had come to rely on him so much they couldn't afford not to play him.
This is from someone who hates Rooney and Utd The guy really is a gimp off the pitch.
I would wonder, is there a team in the world that would turn down Rooney if offered to them for free? I'm not sure even Barca or Real would say no.

is there a team thatd refuse anyone for free?>.<

I disagree slightly about the fact that you cant really compare players who play in different or the same position, Rooney is top 5 imo. I dont really like him or Man Utd but yea After Messi and Ronaldo there's very few players you can say their team wouldnt be as good without, So yeah Impact for me is a pretty big key. A Man Utd with Rooney is almost always better (barring that little period where he was being an idiot)
Unlike a Torress however hes actually managed to come out of that a better player imo that to adds into it.
Theres so many intangibles that you can throw all the stats you want but intangibles can at times be the biggest difference.
that having been said though just because you can do it (compare)doesn't necessarily mean that you have to or you should ...

Milan vs. Lazio ridiculously entertaining (but totally overwhelmed defenses) so far, Lazio went up 2-0 in the first 25 mins with goals from Klose and Cisse, Milan ties it 2-2 by like the 33rd min.

I don't like how people criticize CR or Messi when they don't track back, defend on stuff. If I am the manager, I will make damn sure that they don't even come into the defensive half of the pitch and they would just stop at the half way line. Surely they are much more effective just staying up front, when a single CR hugging the touchline would basically force the opponent whole defensive formation to change just to accommodate it. It is just like Henry, where you would literally some teams change the right back who doesn't just wander off and join in the attack but stay back.

It's depressing to see Klose in Lazio btw, I used to like him.
