Well, that's funny because Messi only received 4 fauls on the whole game. Maybe that's too much for you, but I have to disagree. If you put aside Marcelo and Mourinho's behaviour, RM did nothing to deserve the "fouling" bullshit. 18 vs 19 fouls according to the match stats. RM pressured up the field to deny Barça's play and it worked in both games. Of course, when you play that way you make bad tackles because you arrive late sometimes, EXACTLY the same happened to Barça where Xavi got booked and Iniesta and Alves should have also. Nothing to blame, just part of the game.
I hate so much the Marcelo incident because without that we would be talking about football, and in those two matches one team was better that the other in that matter.
Im tired of the black and white crap, theres no good and evil in this story. Both have their lights and their shadows.
I just watched the recap of the games but I really need to point out pepe's attempted tackle against alves where after a cross or a corner he runs up to alves and goes in really stupidly (without ANY chance on the ball whatsoever) he is so reckless I really don't like tackles like these completely pointless without any tactical reason behind it I mean he didn't really hit him, but this can end so ugly (like some of the Arsenal players have experienced)
edit: Ronaldo earned some major bonus points in this game for me of how he reacted in the end of the game when the quarrel started (as well as Iniesta I think) both standing there watching the fight and thinking....not again
It's always good to see the best players in the game (Xavi, Ronaldo, Iniesta, Messi) not partaking in these things.
yayy newcastle!! by no means a stunning performance but beating sunderland is apparently important, and 4 points after the first two games is something like 3 points ahead of schedule. :p
arsenal looked weak during the 1 hour or so I watched, and liverpool looked much stronger than last season. deserved victory, even though the 1-0 goal was both offside and super unlucky. can't really picture arsenal being a top 4 contender unless they improve, this was very unimpressive.
hmm first goal offside and liverpool couldn't do shit until the red card. I don't know what you were watching drone. All liverpool was doing is crossing in the box and vermaelean was owning them with his left toe nail.
Frimpong was stupid but even worse now, Arsenal are playing manchester united next week with no song no frimpong no gervinho and no kos no... the list goes on.
Arsenal looked utterly depleted in that game. I know that Gervinho and Song had both been suspended and a number of other injuries hampered the team - but having to play players like Miquel, Lansbury, Frimpong, and Jenkinson all at once against a solid Liverpool side is very poor indeed.
Its said over and over again - but Arsenal are always in that 'building and development' phase. Their youngsters may be talented, but they aren't enough to get them what their fans want.

Actually the foul count was even..17-17 on some sources.. Im not saying hes fouled.. im saying he gets knocked around alot any individual match highlights can show you that. But even thats perhaps irrelevant the tensions are so high theres no reason Messi cant loose his cool a bit either..
what he didnt do was go and scissor kick a real player that could potentially have done some really serious damage in a game that had pretty much ended..
And yeah I have no problems with the way Real Madrid played those 2 games.. pressing up is how you beat Barcelona and you need to be superfit to do it.. they made for great games...
Man U tried the same thing in the Final and werent able to maintain it for more than 10-15 mins

I have to agree Pepe is a fantastic defender.. sure reckless but hes good enough to pull that off as I said before..
Problem is that incident where he went nutso and tried the kick the shit out of the Getafe player will stay with him forever..
I still think Arsenal are bound for the top 4, I just don't trust Tottenham or Liverpool over the course of a full season, especially if they (Liverpool) had that much trouble versus what was essentially Arsenal's "B" team. This team will look 100% different once Wilshere is fit..
The Association of Spanish Football Players said the strike would go ahead after meetings with officials from the league broke down.
Spanish players representing all 42 teams in the top two divisions backed the first work stoppage in 27 years after failing to sign a new collective bargaining agreement with improved salary guarantees.
The Spanish league — home to the global stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo — may only start in September after the players’ union pledged to boycott the first two rounds because of the labor conflict. The season had been scheduled to start this weekend with three-time defending champion Barcelona at Málaga and Real Madrid playing Athletic Bilbao.
“The games are clearly unrealizable,” the players’ union said in a statement on its Web site.

Did a team went bankrupt recently?
And don't players always get paid anyway since they are like the first creditor or something (in the EPL anyway).

23 UEFA clubs have gone to bankruptcy, 22 are Spanish. The current Spanish law does not set players as first creditors (It's a societies law), that's why they want La Liga to create a rule for it. Recent cases are Rayo Vallecano and Betis (just promoted), Zaragoza, Celta, Málaga, Sporting de Gijón,...
