When did he main Honda? He played Sagat in Vanilla and then switched to fei.
Also I completely disagree that the tier list matters at the bottom, and doesn't matter at the top, to me that is the complete opposite.
For people who suck at the game, it doesn't mtater what they do because there are always improvements in their PLAY that they can make regardless of the character
Its the same in Starcraft 2 where a Bronze leaguer shouldn't worry about the fucking balance of the game when they can't even macro properly. Worry about macro then you can start worrying about unit comp and then balance of units.
In SF, work on your links and BnB's, tech'ing, footsies, etc. Then you can start worrying about the matchups of characters.

Just pick a character you like or wiht a moveset and options that you like and level up your game before wrorying about tiers. You have to realize their lists in SSF4 is like one from MVC2. Top low tier users have taken games off top high tier users while in MVC2 the difference between A and S is HUGE. If we scaled SSF4 with MVC2 tier scaling I doubt anyone would be lower than B (maybe Hakan cause he suuuuckkkkkzzzz)
Hakan is pretty good actually =/ I play against Kimo who is a local Hakan player (he was on stream at NCR and got bodied by Infiltration haha) and he's pretty scary with solid mixups and good footsies (haha Hakan footsies). His ability to level 1 focus anything into a combo and dash normal cancel is pretty scary. That's not to say he's a high-tier character but he has some solid gameplay behind him.

Hey, here's a SSF IV nub question. So I'm getting the Hori EX2 because the xbox pad is just awfull and I don't wanna spend 150 for a TE as I'm not going to play it to seriously. The thing is though, the stick layout has 6 buttons next to the stick and the LB and LT are only small buttons placed on the top, so that they are pretty much not useful during a game. + Show Spoiler +
In some forums I read about people configuring the buttons to: [L]Punch - [H]Punch - [All]Punch [L]Kick - [H]Kick - [All]Kick
Wouldn't that mean I can't use focus anymore? Any suggestions or experience with this stick? Help is much appreciated.
|
Don't do that. Just do
Jab Strong Fierce Short Forward Roundhouse
Or as some would know it as:
LP MP HP LK MK HK
want to throw or focus? hit the two buttons like a normal human being
Want to do 3 punches or 3 kicks? Just hit 3 of them.
You only need 6 buttons, the extra 2 buttons on TE's aren't necessarily meant to be used, its just so you can have the 6 left buttons as japanese layout and 3 right buttons as american layout.
Edit: So anyone can tell me when Mago mained Honda yet? Because I don't think I've ever heard of such a thing.
|
Thanks for the answer. I don't have the stick at home yet, so I wasn't able to try how pressing multiple buttons at once "like a normal human being" works
I'm just used to the all button thing from the pad as it's a pain to hit all 3 on the pad layout, but I guess I won't need the lazy button on the stick then.

its so slow multiplayer? is this normal even when we both have A computers?

Someone in the last page of this thread said Mago played Honda, and I'm 99% sure they're full of shit. Mago has played Fei Long since Super, with a pocket Sagat (his Vanilla character) and Yang. From what I know he has never touched honda and it makes zero sense for him to play Honda as well....

Mago played C-Honda/Sagat/Blanka (won SBO with that team actually) in CvS2, but never mained Honda in SFIV.

Any word of the almighty J switching over to AE yet? Would love to see his Makoto terrorize the shit out of people again. Also very curious for Shiro's Makoto :D

I think people might be thinking Yun's palm strike is doing chip damage and thinking its a normal but that is in fact not a normal its a command move.

no stick will make you play better though.
anyway for the EX2 i believe the correct option in the controls menu is type C, you'll only use 6 buttons and it works fine.
