That's fighting games for you, if you can maintain a 20% win rate over your first 100 games you're doing quite well. You'll get better eventually, and it helps to stop for a while after each loss and think about the match, what you did wrong and what did your opponent do right. E.g. if you got thrown all the time, focus on that in your next match and try to get it right.
Also the single most important advice I ever got: block more. Stop pressing so many buttons and just block. Especially when people are jumping at you, unless you're 100% confident in your AA moves and ranges, just block it. If they're poking at you and you can't seem to get a single move out without getting counter hit, keep blocking.

I'm trying out SFIII third strike fight for the future since I haven't played a SF game before. I can't even get past stage 5 without any losses >.<. Got more trouble with some characters than others though

Kens kinda the best character for a noob in SF4 as well, good DP and simple inputs.

Meant as an opponent (I already play Ken). Dudley wipes the floor with me: if I miss a block once, then he chops 3/4th of my hp away with a combo i can't block (to my knowledge, only found out how to parry an hour ago )

I'm not 3S expert so I can't really help lol, good luck though.
I'm going to be streaming SF again, see how bad my Yun is until I get angry and switch to gief
If streaming makes me lag though I'll have to turn it off (My stream should be listed on the non-featured streams list, near the bottom alphabetically ofc).

Well, 3s was made over ten years ago. That game is also fantastic, but was made before they started making things easier in fighters.
If this is your first time playing a fighter and you can't win a match online, instead of just mashing through hundreds of matches until you learn it could be more beneficial to watch a few tutorial videos to get a feel for what fighters are all about.
Knowing a basic punish for your character is 100% necessary, as is knowing a basic poke, and depending on the character, some basic anti air that you can reliably do. Without those things, it's like you playing starcraft without being able to macro correctly. All the brilliant decisions in the world won't win a game if you don't have the basic mechanics to back it up!

how important would u say practicing combos and stuff are? I can't seem to get FADCs down, should I just go in training room and practice till i get it?

So does anyone actually know what the point of these localised releases is?
I'm pretty pissed off right now, because my pre-load has been cut-off 82% in and if I had started it just a bit earlier I'd be able to play by now.

Steam can't release the game as they see fit. If the producer has a contract with stores in a certain region to release on date x, steam isn't allowed to release it before date x.
Not entirely certain of this but I'm pretty sure this is how it goes down, stores would complain cause of unfair competition.

edit: just looked at my downloads: 8961.8MB/9224.0MB. Cant have worse luck than that.

When something is preloaded you don't actually get to play it until its unlocked. At least that's how it was with other steam games.

You don't need to be able to FADC if you can't block crossups, and anti-air people. I'd recommend sticking with the basics of fighting games "Blocking and Punishing" Once you have those down a bit more solid then you can start learning more of the advanced stuff like Option Selects and FADC.
Like stated above its important to not just press buttons in hopes of hitting them back. Keep blocking until they whiff a big move like a shroyuken or something that's easily punishable.
If you want to go into training mode, just learn a basic bread and butter for your character. You can also use the record option to work on blocking cross overs and blocking anti-airs

spin stick, hit light punch, have meter? hit two buttons, have ultra? hit 3 punches.
shits so dumb Soon you'll be a B level gief like me It's just frustrating when people say Yun is a mashfest and then you hop on gief. hold down back and hit roundhouse once in a while to get closer, if they throw fireballs greenhand in to get closer, if they jump, lariat. and once you get JUST out of poke range you're already in light SPD range. fffffaaaaaaaaaaa The best is roundhouse whiff (or far block)->l.spd. Catches so many people off guard. Also, I love ultra 1, instahalfhealthGG

I've never reached A rank but I imagine it's even more punishing than B rank, meaning you have to maintain a higher and higher win ratio against most opponents in order to keep climbing in BP. In D rank you lose no BP ever, in C you lose only a little compared to what you win, in B it's about even. I've gotten to B+ with Ken on regular SSFIV, and yeah, losses are somewhat punishing (though not too punishing). I can imagine once you hit A though, it will be a mother fucker

If you had the pre-load you coud actually play this online. Because I only have a part of the game I could only get to the starting screen and register my key to GFWL.

if you lose against the computer, i don't know what to say. i just walk forward and hit fierce and they die. and i'm pretty sure dudley doesn't have a 3/4 health combo, especially not the computer.
(actually i was playing SF4AE on a machine the other day and was waiting for someone to come up and play, so just for fun i decided to do nothing but mash jab. i won. i really hate being at the arcade and playing the computer.)
